  1. In other news, Carl Everett has completely come unravled.
  2. Where is Murcie when we need him? "The Sun....fights for us"
  3. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 06:53 PM) Are we sure? I haven't heard anything about him since he took ill. He was probably just getting another facelift.
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) If the Sox do fail to make the playoffs, there will be such hatred from the fans for what happened that the best step the organization could do would be to fire the person who's pissing the fans off the most, Ozzie. Who knows, maybe the fan backlash would make JR open up the checkbook and bring in a superstar this offseason? Who the f*** am I kidding! We both know they would have to do quite a bit to remedy the situation if they blow it. A lot of fans will not be happy at all.
  5. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 06:37 PM) Correct me if I am wrong, but he didn't "come close" - he made the deal, didn't he? I do agree, though, that management has to take responsibility for the result, not the actions. I am just speaking from my perspective as a fan. SFF We don't have Griffey on our roster, do we? No. Then he didn't make any deal.
  6. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 04:22 PM) 1 - Swing for the Fences mentality. The stats prove it. A.J has K'd a lot more this season with his BA going down, even though he has more homers. Crede and Uribe hit a LOT better away than at home this season. The park is built for the long ball, and taking the power or Carlos Lee and Jose Valentin was always going to hurt that. The Solution - Easy, move the fences back. It'll never happen, but this team isn't built for this ballpark the way it is. Another solution would be to get some power hitters with decent plate discipline =)
  7. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 04:47 AM) You know, I forgot to list Shingo in that "Disappointing players" thread. I still can't believe how rapidly he lost it, and it wasn't through loss of velocity or hitters figuring him out, it was entirely a loss of control. I don't know if I've ever seen a pitcher totally lose his control like that. Seen any Marte outings lately?
  8. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) I was just saying it was a possibility. There's no guarantee that any particular team will win another game for the rest of the season. As I said two months ago, and I'll say again: THERE'S NO GUARANTEES IN SPORTS! Except the Braves
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:58 AM) Hell no, this is the perfect time for some soup! Hahah, I shoulda thought of that. I thought you preferred....
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:55 AM) No, I'm dead serious. It must be this cold I'm coming down with. Making me all dizzy when I walk. But seriously, I am getting a cold and it blows ass. I'll call your mom and tell her to get the Vicks.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:50 AM) Holy f***ing s***, I actually agree with like everything you are saying tonight. What the f*** is going on! Did you give him your lunchables?
  12. Not all of us are like you. Sorry, the optomism isn't very warranted lately.
  13. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:38 AM) Have you read the posts saying "f*** the sox" "f*** this franchise" "im f***ing done"? Yes. And many of those same people saying that have been here for a majority of the 2 and a half years I have been here. They are frustrated and upset with the way their team is performing. I don't see them all abandoning the team and jumping off a building.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:35 AM) I thought that this was a Sox fan community, but I guess it turns out that its just full of people who leave the team when they start to struggle. Oh well.. Leave the team? Who here has left?
  15. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:27 AM) Ozzie looked like he was going to cry in that postgame interview.. I thought the same thing. He looks broken down right now.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:24 AM) Rowand44 and I were getting along well. I have no problem with the optimistic posters on this site AT ALL! I just feel like I'm getting picked on a little too much now because of the punching bag syndrome. But don't worry, I'm not like Ozzie. I won't b**** about it in the paper. Or throw up.
  17. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Sep 23, 2005 -> 03:07 AM) I'll atleast give some props to B-MAC. He went out there and did a tremendous job. He matched Santana pitch for pitch. B-Mac has more balls at his age than any of the vets on this team.
