  1. QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:49 AM) When Henderson stole 130, he was caught 42 times!!! Runners will get caught, not as often as they make it though 56 Stolen Bases is a little different than 130.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) At least I spelled it write
  3. QUOTE(qwerty @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 03:16 AM) The person on the banner right now is bad enough.
  4. QUOTE(Texsox @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 02:44 AM) I've noticed that the past couple years Dennis Miller' right arm just kind of hangs there, he doesn't have a full ranch of movement. I couldn't find anything via google. Anyone else notice it? Ranch dressing movement?
  5. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 10:37 PM) Cora needs the Old Yeller treatment too Time to put 'em down for good?
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 10:27 PM) Jesus Christ that's incredible. Yeah, it is. I have one of the quotes from that as an away message I use quite often. In 2006, Vin Diesel will star and direct the film 'Hannibal', about Hannibal Barca, the Carthaginian General who led an elephant-riding army across the alps to attack Rome in the 3rd century BC. The film is actually footage taken when Vin Diesel led the army himself hundreds of years ago, with the intent of releasing it as a film as soon as Earth technology caught up with his superior, home-made equipment.
  7. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 09:43 PM) White Sox Josh also thinks Aaron Rowand is the second coming of Willie Mays. Do not mistake the rambling of one for the thoughts of an entire community. Thank you Cheat. Couldn't have said it better myself.
  8. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 09:22 PM) initial post that didn't make it: I don't see how JR has any choices but to can Oz if this team happens to miss the playoffs. He did a hell of a job the 1st half as far as keeping the mood light, although we all saw that his in-game decisions were not what was winning those ballgames. Well, our slide against OAK drained some of the happy happy energy in the clubhouse which leaves Oz's main responsibility to manage the ball game. He's failed miserably and has lost his team. If they miss the playoffs, they will have blown a 15 game lead in less than 2 months, not to mention the games lost to the wildcard winner. If they miss the wildcard that, in my opinion, is what really spells doom for Oz. I can somewhat understand losing the lead to Cleveland who is just demolishing everyone they've faced in the last 2 months, but to lose a wildcard slot is unacceptable. Meanwhile, starters are being benched and our pitchers are visibly exhausted while a stud is left handling mop up duty for El Duque. If JR doesn't can Oz or KW he'll never hear the end of it. Could be an interesting offseason if the s***house goes up in flames. But, alas, we aren't going to have to worry about any of this because we'll cruise into the postseason as division champs.....hopefully. Jim Morrison fan?
  9. Are we referring to Dusty Guillen here?
  10. Is the game over? I just got outta class and i'm in the computer lab working on stuff for a Torts class. What is the situation right now?
  11. Sad to see him go. However, he is lucky to live a very fulfilling life and make it to 91. Prayers are with his family.
  12. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 05:22 AM) Speaking of those two, I find it odd Guillen only included veterans in this closed door meeting. Aren't Jenks, McCarthy important parts of this club? Article cites 14 were included, which leaves 11 who were obviously thought of by Guillen as not worthy of a pep talk. Just go through the roster and list the obvious veterans: Hernandez Garcia Buehlre Garland Contreras Hermanson Politte Dye Konerko Everett Pierzynski Widger Perez (of course) I'm not sure which remaining player Guillen would label as a veteran, but it's obvious he excluded numerous key players. Just include everyone on the team, yes--even Borchard, and give them the same speech to step it up. May not do anything, but relay onto everyone your expectations down the stretch. Isn't Ol' Willie a vet yet?
  13. I was always a fan of Peter James Bond myself.
  14. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:20 AM) Who? Oh yeah, I remember him before the heart problems... Edit: Don't mind me, I'm just really, really, really bitter right now. I think we all are.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:13 AM) Nobody would mind if you did. Are you still mad that he rips on Curry?
  16. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:55 AM) Some things in life are bad They can really make you mad Other things just make you swear and curse. When you're chewing on life's gristle Don't grumble, give a whistle And this'll help things turn out for the best... And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... If life seems jolly rotten There's something you've forgotten And that's to laugh and smile and dance and sing. When you're feeling in the dumps Don't be silly chumps Just purse your lips and whistle - that's the thing. And...always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the light side of life... For life is quite absurd And death's the final word You must always face the curtain with a bow. Forget about your sin - give the audience a grin Enjoy it - it's your last chance anyhow. So always look on the bright side of death Just before you draw your terminal breath Life's a piece of s*** When you look at it Life's a laugh and death's a joke, it's true. You'll see it's all a show Keep 'em laughing as you go Just remember that the last laugh is on you. And always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the right side of life... (Come on guys, cheer up!) Always look on the bright side of life... Always look on the bright side of life... (Worse things happen at sea, you know.) Always look on the bright side of life... (I mean - what have you got to lose?) (You know, you come from nothing - you're going back to nothing. What have you lost? Nothing!) Always look on the right side of life... What a great song. I love that f***ing movie.
  17. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:07 AM) Presumably...when he doesn't use green? I don't think he has ever used green for sarcasm. Most people who know his personality can tell when he is being sarcastic,. I thought that was pretty obvious.
  18. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 04:01 AM) Is this sarcasm about his defense? When is Qwerty not sarcastic?
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:40 AM) They may have to cancel soxfest if they blow this. I dont want to even think of the Q&A session. I don't think any Sox personnel would get out of there alive.
  20. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:17 AM) Can I have a motion to get a certain pitcher who is in my sig who throws 100 in as the official closer before Mr. Badback does this s*** again. This and El Duque in the rotation is going to f*** us. I love how Shingo can lose his job so quickly early in the season yet Hermy can be having back troubles and not be very ready to go for like a month. I'm not saying Hermy sucks, however he shouldn't be out there if he isn't healthy.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Sep 15, 2005 -> 03:15 AM) We're not going to the playoffs if we play like this. We will be lucky to win 95 games the way we are playing right now.
