  1. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) so we put gascan in first and give up a quick 3...no matter what 6th inning MR is playing with fire no matter how you slice it. If Marte had it we could've maybe gone Cotts/Politte/Marte/Hermanson over four. I'm sure that's what Ozzie initially had in mind... Ozzie needs to learn Cotts isn't a f***ing LOOGY or One out specialist either.
  2. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:58 PM) If Jose Contreras could avoid throwing 100 pitches in less than 5 innings, maybe Ozzie wouldn't have to go to his f***ing bullpen in the 6th. Contreras' pitchcount is what got us in trouble initially. Ozzie didn't help himself out any with the stupid decisions he made either.
  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:57 PM) Its like smart ball, its called backwards bullpen, its new.
  4. Oz has to save Jenks so he can use him for 2 innings some more and blow his arm away.
  5. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:50 PM) YES SENSEI!
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:43 PM) Nice, we kill cobra Kai Haha, I dont know why but for some reason that cracked me up. I was laughing and had to leave the office and go to the bathroom to laugh without getting weird looks.
  7. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:15 PM) The scary thing if you look at their numbers side by side Anderson and Borchard are nearly identical outside of their batting averages. And OBP and SLG%
  8. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:07 PM) Who was Toronto's all-star? Hillenbrand.
  9. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) ewwww.
  10. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Wake the f*** up. And smell the Griffey.
  11. QUOTE(whitesoxin' @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) 32,027 paid, Hawk says that there are more than that in attendance. How many? I didn't catch that
  12. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:21 PM) None of them should have been earned. What happened, error wise?
  13. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 07:20 PM) top of the 4th. Thanks, being at works...about as much as watching the Count it seems.
  14. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 04:34 PM) Well there's the other acquisition i wanted on the blue line. I wanted another veteran presence, and we got Spacek back. He's a pretty good puck handler, and he's decent in both zones. The defense is done now. The offense, however, isn't. LaPointe makes me go "meh". He was real nasty with Detroit a few years ago, bolted to Boston for a s***load of cash, then proceeded to absolutely suck. He's a "grinder", so he'll be playing on the third line with brown and barnaby i would think. Bell should play on the second line over brown, i think. We still need a top forward though, and i'd love palffy or kariya. I'm not a huge selanne fan because he's so damn soft, but he'd at least put the puck in the net on the top lines. Still need something up there badly. Can't really fault Tallon though, he's thrown the money out there. But the hawks have screwed themselves a little bit as an organization, obviously. I also don't like how long this Khabibulin decision is taking. Theoretically we could land both Palffy and Kariya which would be great, however it is doubtful. I agree with you on Bulin. Seems like he is using the Hawks to try and get the Lightning to boost their offer to him. However, most reports I have seen is that they haven't budged from their original offer. Supposedly their GM was on the radio recently and didn't even refer to him by name. Hopefully TB falls out of the running and we can land him. It would be nice to know what his decision is so Tallon can make/attempt other personnel decisions.
  15. Didn't Julius Peppers get busted recently as well?
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Hell ya!!! Nope, got to go edit........ Sorry for being picky
  17. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Ruutu-Arnason-Pallfy Bell-Brown-Daze Calder-Nichol?-Barnaby Bourque-Holmqvist-Voribev? Aucoin-Cullimore McCarthy-Vandamer Spachek-Babbs/Keith/Barinka? LaPointe gonna sit and watch?
  18. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) And look what Bobby Clarke wanted from JR for LA, Taylor, Frolov and Brown. That's the equivalent of Ruutu and Bell for Hawks players supossedly. Good luck trading him now with those demands. Yeah, I just heard about that too DB. Think there is any chance the Hawks will swoop in and take JR?
  19. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) Not suprised you'd say that at all Spiff, not suprised at all. I guess LaPointe probably appealed to the Hawks cause he's a good character guy, and a grinder. Can he be relied on to post more than 40 points a season though? No. Think this could be to create depth to make a bigger trade since we can't land any FA's?
  20. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 01:56 PM) News on Zhamnov; How many centers do Boston have now? I'm counting Thornton, Scatchard, Zhamnov, and there's 1 or 2 more maybe. They still plan to move Thornton right?
  21. Hey Keit, Murcie...what do you guys think of adding a guy like Selanne to an incentive laden 2-3 year deal? I know he is getting up there but I think he still might be able to contribute some.
  22. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) I've always liked Paul Kariya, i think he'd be a great fit - and with his speed his game should improve with some of the new rule changes. I can see him setting Tuomo up for scoring chance after scoring chance after scoring chance Landing Palffy and Kariya would really help our offense immensely. I doubt it happens but we can always dream. I agree with you Murcie, Paul is a good point man who should be helped by the new rule changes.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 4, 2005 -> 02:34 AM) Can someone, for the love of god, with 2 strikes please not try and take a full home run cut. That isn't Ozzieball™
