  1. They lost a good shot blocking PK'er in old man Sopel. They lost good secondary scoring/defensive forwards in Madden and Ladd. They lost secondary scoring in Kris Versteeg. They no longer have the Bolland line that could lock down other teams top scoring units. They are playing in front of a new goalie. Duncan Keith didn't play nearly as well as he did in his Norris winning season last year. The West is better than it was last year. We didn't suck this year. We were just that amazing last year. Any team can get hot and win in the playoffs. It's all about matchups. The Hawks may still be in the heads of the Nucks from the previous two seasons. Also, while not as deep, these Hawks can still beat any team on a given night. We dominated Detroit the majority of the season prior to the game today. You also have to hope with the way they seemed to kind of coast this year that they have a lot of energy for the playoffs and know they need a sense of urgency right out of the gate.
  2. Nice to see the Heat fall to Milwaukee tonight. I think the Bulls are fairly safe with that 1 seed in the East. (knock on wood)
  3. Nice to see Chrissy Bosh with another solid outing shooting 5-14.
  4. QUOTE (longshot7 @ Mar 28, 2011 -> 01:32 PM) Sucker Punch was more boring than anything else. Zack Snyder wouldn't know how to write a decent script if Syd Field himself shared his body. I'm worried about the Superman movie now. I 'm slightly slightly worried too about that. Although David Goyer who scripted Batman Begins is doing the script so that gives me some hope.
  5. QUOTE (jphat007 @ Mar 23, 2011 -> 03:22 PM) Spring Training doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot for ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Spring training is in NO WAY indicitive of performance in April or the season at all. Tell that to Babe Shelton
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 08:06 PM) what happened to boozer? I am following on gamecast. Big time hack by Kwame Brown on Boozer as he was going up for a 2 handed dunk. Came down hard and his leg kind of went down funny. Looks like his left ankle as he limped off to the locker room. Flagrant on Brown.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2011 -> 08:02 PM) Well, boozers done for awhile. f***ing bulls*** foul, should be intentional. Kwame Brown is such a cheap piece of s***.
  8. Didn't Jason have a big time chub for this guy at one point in time?
  9. If you want a decent imitation of Kuma's without the 3 hour wait, check out Lockdown Bar on Western just south of Division. Went in there by chance with some co-workers and it was a solid choice. Also, People Tapas on Milwaukee near the 6 corners is a pretty solid dining establishment. I agree with you on the Whirlaway. I go there a decent amount in the summer since my buddy lives a few blocks away and the bartender there is pretty amazing.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 7, 2011 -> 02:35 PM) The Packers actually have 1 thing that puts them at a lot of risk. Here is, according to ESPN, the values under contract for 2011 for various teams. As noted from where I stole this data, the cap in 2009 was at $130 million. If the owners succeed in forcing cap reductions on the Union, the Packers could be in a position where they have no choice but to make cuts, just in order to sign this year's draft class. Even beyond that, they're not in a position to be able to make long-term commitments right now, to add to that team or to extend guys they need to keep. Not sure where the author of that article got his info. From everything I've read, the Packers have become much more financially responsible since Thompson has taken over. They have consistently been under the cap by a large margin since Mike Sherman has been replaced as GM. Also, if a new CBA is put into place, they may calculate the cap differently than they do now. We really won't have any clue for any teams until the terms of the CBA (if there is one) is disclosed.
  11. Will this be like every other snow scare where we get dusted with a few inches and it's just enough to be annoying?
  12. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 20, 2011 -> 10:26 PM) How is this Star Wars-esque? What? Pretty sure the second one was a Jason Bateman reference from Dodgeball.
  13. Play calling like this is why Mike McCarthy needs to go and he can take Jackson with him.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 23, 2010 -> 07:00 PM) I'm also not sure it was the wisest idea to have Jeff Bridges do kind of a spin off of the Dude character from Big Lebowski...I guess it seems to fit him though, and gave it a bit more personality than playing it straight. As an ultimate frisbee fan, anything that boosts the popularity of frisbee, discs or Aerobies is okay with me. And I'm sure Ducati must have spent some big-time coin using it as a marketing tool. Made me almost want to go out and buy a motorcycle, that and the new Wall Street movie. They had another vehicle whic evoked a simpler version of Batman's Tumbler that will be popular the kids too I think. His character was actually a lot like that in the first Tron film which came out well before Big Lebowski. A kind of goofy, off the wall surfer dude/programmer type.
  15. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Dec 21, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) . . . oh my. This made even me blush. Rex Ryan is quite a raunch-merchant. This is disturbing yet hilarious. I really don't get the whole foot thing. It's so bizarre to me.
  16. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Dec 10, 2010 -> 10:46 PM) I can't believe they put him on a full game, he has one of the most annoying voices to listen to. I'll be the first to admit I think he is vastly overrated and is basically a "I remember that, it's funny" type writer, but beyond that, his voice shouldn't be subjected to the public for a full game. I think even Simmons himself has admitted he has an annoying voice before.
  17. I guess level 20 is a good start for my first day of Black Ops
  18. Gruden may be one of the worst announcers of all time.
  19. An all Soxtalk Black Ops game would be epic. How many people are planning to get it on release? I know Ive got mine reserved.
  20. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 01:48 PM) The process I used to root took me a good 3 hours or so but there are much faster methods available now for the EVO. If you're going to consider rooting your Incredible make sure to bookmark this page. You can learn about rooting and things to do with your phone after you rooted. By glancing through a few threads it looks like there's a fairly easy method available here. Make sure you read through the thread to get more info on the process before you dive in. And here's what my 3 home screens look like after rooting. Completely customized theme and I am loving it. Talking about Arcade Fire in that text to your friend in the upper left corner of that pic??
  21. 27 but most people think I'm 20-21. The damn curse of the young face.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 27, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) The turnaround in the Packers line was absolutely amazing last year. I can't recall ever seeing a line turn around like that mid-season. A big thanks should go out to Mark Tauscher for that.
  23. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 10:30 AM) Agreed. We can't really expect Brett to perform at the level he did last season, especially with his top two receiving targets likely out. But they signed Javon Walker! All is right in the world.
  24. QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 25, 2010 -> 07:06 PM) The statue will show him holding the Jordan statue's bags with one hand and holding a waiter off at arm's length with the other. Will Ewing be laying on his back at the foot of said statue?
