  1. QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 10:45 PM) "You tapped out! You tapped out! You tapped out!" ....in like 90 secs. Damn, I called Mir by armbar but it was knee bar. Close
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Feb 2, 2008 -> 08:14 PM) What time are the fights tonight? The under card fights have already started. I think the main card starts around 10 or so Central time.
  3. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 03:17 PM) OK, I officially hate John Paxson. The Bulls could have dealt much more and still had a very respectable team to put around Gasol. The Lakers could win the Championship THIS year with that team once Bynum gets back. They had the best record in the Western Conference before Bynum went down. Unless Paxson has his eye on someone else and doesn't want Gasol he should be ashamed. The Lakers just traded their junk for Gasol.
  4. QUOTE(max power @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 03:25 PM) I think its because the article is actually about who will be the best for the next 5 years, not about those stats. I still don't know why he mentioned Pie. Maybe he was hungry.
  5. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ Feb 1, 2008 -> 03:41 PM) http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=228697&hubname=nhl Tarnstrom traded to Jackets for Glencross..... Let the trades begin?

    Snow Day!!!

    Topic says it all. My office in Schaumburg closed today. How many other Soxtalkers were lucky enough to get a free paid day off thanks to the snow?
  7. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 05:10 PM) I can't see anyway TB would take on Havlat. That just makes zero sense. I think a much more realistic deal would be Nik+Prospect to TB for Boyle. The rumor I heard that makes sense for TB is St.Louis for Turco. I really can't either, especially with the money they already have in forwards such as Richards, Lecavalier and St Louis.
  8. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Jan 31, 2008 -> 04:20 PM) Who would take on Havlat though, and what type of offer would the Hawks consider for him? Also on Savard, I think compared to past coaches this franchise has had over the next decade, he's pretty good. Injuries have really just decimated this team. A player such as Jason Williams who is really underrated (his impact on the PP for example) hasn't played for ages, and I'd just like to see what Savard could do with this team when everyone is completely healthy. He may not get that chance though. I'd trade Havlat for an equally overpayed D-man if he was talented enough.
  9. We are getting lit up tonight. P.S. How come Arnason never did that on the Hawks? He just ate pizza and got fat.
  10. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) Hey, whatever makes you feel good about yourself. No other observations about the entire team's s*** play, I'll assume. Savvy might not survive this road trip. You really think his job is in danger this year?
  11. QUOTE(MurcieOne @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 10:14 PM) Khabby = Todd Hundley I think you mean God Hundley.
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 30, 2008 -> 09:01 PM) f***ing Khabibulin is worthless. That first goal he gave up was pretty pathetic even if he was partially screened by Sopel. Put Lalime in for gods sake. These guys have had like 5 days off and they look tired.
  13. Mir is gonna Tim Sylvia Brock's arm in the first round.
  14. QUOTE(Felix @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Rosenthal Angelos is good at screwing his team over.
  15. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 10:23 PM) What about Robbie Alomar? Might as well bring back Jiminez too.
  16. QUOTE(BearSox @ Jan 28, 2008 -> 07:51 PM) I heard they suck... I think you should look somewhere else for a wireless adapter. I have a linksy's one that is especially made for video games. Works perfectly and it's like there is a wire connected from my gaming system to my modem when I use it. It plugs directly into the ethernet plug as well. I'd suggest something like that. Yeah, I just went the old fashioned way and ran a 50' ethernet cable through wall in to my room. Works perfectly So what is everyones thoughts on the new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed game that is coming up this summer? I think it looks pretty sick. I liked what I read about the options they have for Wii users being able to use the nunchuk as a light saber and exclusive content for each system. I can't wait to pick it up on Xbox. Anyways, here is a link to the preview interview as well as some video clips and photos. http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/sta...;om_clk=topslot
  17. Has anyone used the wireless ethernet adapter for 360 yet? I was thinking about getting one instead of running a long cable through my house. Any thoughts on them?
  18. So I just picked up the 40" Samsung LCD that Steve suggested to me. God this TV kicks ass. So glad I upgraded. My gaming is 10 times better now.
  19. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jan 27, 2008 -> 08:57 PM) Scary Movie was good, but the second was bad and the next two were downright terrible even with the addition of Leslie Neilson. You guys convinced me to see Rambo, and from a movie making stand point, it wasn't good, but it was entertaining. There's no way in hell this movie is 1HR and 33 MIN long because the 10-15 minutes of previews didn't start until a few minutes after 7, and I was out of there by 8:35. This is actually the first Rambo movie I've seen, but I can't imagine the other three had as bad of a setup as this one. Here's the whole movie: There isn't any development at all, and it would been better if there were more conflicts and the camp stuff was extended a little longer. It almost seemed like a more graphic, army version of Shoot 'Em Up. You really should see the first Rambo. It is the best out of the series. After that one the tone of the series really changes.
  20. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 03:26 PM) It was so f***ing good. Same here.
  21. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jan 26, 2008 -> 12:51 PM) I also saw There Will Be Blood the other night. It was a good enough movie, although I can't understand all of the rave reviews that I saw. It was good (and for a 2 1/2 hour movie, it kept me entertained throughout), but best picture nominee...I don't see why. Also, Daniel Day-Lewis has to be one of the greatest actors ever. He's just so much better than so many of the "great" actors now. And I just got back from Rambo. It was incredible. It's got enough plot to make it work, and the action is f***ing stupendous. If you like mindless action movies, you have to go see this. I'd actually go to see it again at the theater, which is something I never ever do. Saw both films last night as well. My friends and I did a little double feature action. Lewis was absolutely fantastic in his role. I just really enjoyed how is character slowly unfolded from a somewhat charismatic fellow to pretty crazy later on. As far as Rambo goes, it was exactly what I expected. For Stallone being 62 he did a good job of reviving the 80's action flavor that I have missed for a long time. I would suggest seeing both as they are both entertaining.
  22. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 25, 2008 -> 06:15 PM) Hmm. I thought Skille looked like he was adjusting to the NHL pretty well. I am assuming they want to see them get some action during the All Star Break. Skille will probably be recalled on Monday.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jan 25, 2008 -> 12:15 PM) You'll never see me defending Maggs. Didn't you name your daughter Maggliana?
  24. QUOTE(almagest @ Jan 25, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) Fantastic advice. Thank you! Agreed, great information there. I suppose it isn't terrible to take a few more months to save up towards a down payment and look around at what I really want.
  25. Nice victory tonight. Hinrich lit it up with a 38/7/10 line playing along side Thabo. Noch and Noah also with very nice evenings. Tyrus Thomas also put up a similar line to Ben Wallace in less than half the minutes. Ben needs to be gone like yesterday.
