ssi71 after the 8/25 game: QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:09 AM) PFB is in full effect. Ozzie could take a gun and start shooting up the crowd and he would spin it as some of those people were probably old and would of died tomorrow anyways. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) Their screener just hung up on me. I asked if I was going to be allowed to ask a real critical question or would Bagdad Bob get all mad at me if I put frown in his happy loss post game palooza. At least something good comes out of tonight's game.

QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:50 AM) I WAS a huge fan/advocate of Pods' place on this team. To the point of defending him many times this year when I should not have. I am done now. I hate him and wish for him to go away, fast. I will even volunteer to help pack him and Lisa's apartment if it will expedite his departure. Your sad cover of an attempt to steal Lisa Dergen's panties fooled noone.

QUOTE(soxfan72 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:47 AM) Guess you didn't see Cintron watch that 3rd strike with Pods waiting on 2nd in the 9th? With the best offense in baseball this team should be blowing the Twins in to the weeds. This team was built on hitting. Who have we blown away lately? Who have we blown away all year except for a young Tigers team???? Walker didn't make our good hitters good. They did it themselves with thier own hard work. It's Walker's job to come up with a team approach to beat guys like Santana. Still waiting and waiting while we fan away. Defend Walker all you want but that is what counts. Santana is not JC as other teams do beat him occassionally. Tonight we had Radke with a 40% torn shoulder. We get the pen in the 3rd and only one more run the whole dam game. That sucks my friend. I hope I'm wrong because if Sox hitters don't come up with something tomorrow night we are in deep sh__!! That's just how I see Walker and that's a wrap. So you know exactly how much the hitters contribute and how much the coach contributes? Do tell. You cite ONE FRIGGIN AB as your evidence. Lo-f'n-l. Today blew, and the offense has been bad lately. But, gee, somehow I can't look at our hitting, then our starters' eras, and conclude that Walker must be canned. We've f'n mashed this year. You just wanna see it that way, be my guest. But you want to convince others, have at least a scintilla of something to back up your opinion. Santana is one of the best pitchers in recent history. But Walker's supposed to be the mad genius who beats him regularly. Get real.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:30 AM) Respect? I don't need no stinking respect. I think I said that comment to make me feel better about this weekend. I need this season to last as long as possible, because as soon as it's over, it's wedding planning time....YUCK! So sorry. RIP, fathom.
-
QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:32 AM) He pitched one inning last week. How the hell could he have a sore shoulder. Too much damn email.
-
QUOTE(soxfan72 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:29 AM) Certainly no thanks to Walker. We fall behind in almost every important game. Any stats master out there could tell us how many innings Sox have led vs. trailed this year? What about one run games? How does the best hitting team in baseball keep coming up short? I'll tell you how. Hitting approach in key situations in key games. This year the Sox have been pathetic in key situations even though AJ, Crede & Die are having career years. The hitting coach is supposed to help the rest of the guys keep up. It ain't gettin done! Back it up. Show me that the Sox are having a historically unclutch year.

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:24 AM) ADR? What does that mean. If we can come out of this series 1/2 game out of the WC lead, I like our chances the rest of the way with Radke injured and Liriano not returning as a starter. "All due respect". Just saying, with Santana tomorrow...saying Sunday is paramount is going out on a limb of sorts -- just a really big, stable limb.
-
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 12:21 AM) I'm calling this right now...Sunday is the turning point of our season one way or another. ADR, that's one of the more underwhelming calls I've ever heard.

Back up why the hitting coach on a team with one of the best offenses in the majors (still #1? I'm not sure) should be fired. Edit: Yankees ahead by 2 runs going into today, so at this exact moment, we're exactly tied.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 05:28 PM) I don't see where it says only two, I guess it is infered by only one parent talking. I just can't see someone being that openly racist, I really would like to hear her side of things. But if it is just like this article makes it appear, she needs more than a boot up his backside. She needs sensitivity training with Ozzie. Here's the only place the article mentions younger kids being accomodated at the front: I'm not even sure it's the same bus. But there's no other suggestion that the black kids were moved to have young kids up front, so I thought you were talking about this.
-
QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 03:07 PM) Was the battle to be allowed to sit anywhere on the bus, or was it to sit always at the front of the bus? If the driver had a request for younger children to sit up front where the driver could keep an eye on them, and fufilled that request, has she been unfairly labeled a racist? In other words, if she had assigned other kids to those seats, would it have made national news? Now, if there were empty seats they were not allowed to sit in, then by all means she's a racist idiot and should bever come in contact with humans again, but I would like to hear from her. No... It's not necessary, in order to accomodate 2 kids, that 9 others be moved all the way to the back. Just shift everyone back one row. Looks pretty obvious to me.

QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Aug 14, 2006 -> 01:25 AM) I'm gonna be a homer and say... 1. 2005 White Sox everything else is irrelevant Gotta have 5, though. Tough choices to make, but I'll go with: 1. Sox on October 26, 2005 2. Sox on October 25, 2005 3. Sox on October 24, 2005 4. Marlins on October 14, 2003 5. Sox on October 23, 2005 As a check on yourself, always make sure your list is as balanced. Like mine.

QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 02:34 PM) mods, delete board plz k thx It's a good thing you're around. Cuz after Greg Hibbard stormed out angrily and forever, I was devastated that we wouldn't have an owner of Spade Kitty Records who joined on May 2, 2005 around. But luckily, we had 2 to begin with. Now, SOSH prolly has 10 or 11 of those, but hey, we gotta protect our resources more carefully.

Judge who presided over wiretapping case

Calling it a conflict of interest is weak. Calling it a culture of corruption? Now THAT'S funny. -
The Ozzie Guillen Battleground Thread
jackie hayes replied to whitesoxfan101's topic in Pale Hose Talk
As one who usually doesn't defend Ozzie, I want to do just that on #3. I'm not at all happy about the stuff with Tracey. But Cotts has been very effective for us for a while. I don't think it's a question of 'seeing what he has' (which I hate), rather, really believing that he's gonna start showing again what we all know he has. As for Jenks in the 8th, the guy's gotta pitch like he does in the 9th. Why excuse a closer for being only a 'big inning pitcher', but get ticked at Freddy for being only a 'big game pitcher'? -
WTF is wrong with Jays' manager Gibbons?
jackie hayes replied to Big Hurtin's topic in The Diamond Club
He saw AJ on TNA and figured, hey, it works for the champs. You always know AJ's the root cause of the problem, you just gotta figure out how. -
A list of other teams' problems: Tigers -- 120-win season is not guaranteed Twins -- Lost Liriano Yanks -- Lost Ponson After laughter dies down, Lost Matsui and Sheffield Sawks -- Lost Cy Young and only got a lousy Josh Beckett Rangers -- Teixeira still ain't Teixeira A's -- Lost Harden Angels -- Lost Colon See, now we can just put this list in our sigs so that our posts too can be Greg-tested, Hibbard-approved.
-
QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 22, 2006 -> 12:00 AM) What negative thing can you say about the Twins? Liriano being out? That's what we're gonna hang our hats on? We've lost ground since he's been out. Ah, ah, ah. You mentioned that the Sox have lost ground, and that the Twins lost Liriano. But I don't see anything about the Tigers, Yanks, Sawks, A's, Angels, or Rangers. And you call yourself a fan.

I can't help thinking back to the parade coverage. Talking to my brother on the phone about how much we both despise that song. And how each of us had downloaded it on iTunes. But it's 2006, gotta worry about poking the eye of the tiger now.

QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Aug 21, 2006 -> 06:09 PM) Can't we just all get along? Look, we're ALL Sox fans here. From the most pessimistic (fathom, dickallen, Milkman) to the most optimistic (jphat, heads, kap). That much is certain. We all love and cheer for this team with everything we've got. Do some overreact some time? Yes. Hell, maybe I overreacted in creating the thread I did yesterday. I don't really care. It's how I felt at the time. That doesn't mean we don't back this team 150%. For the most part, I can only think of two or 3 people around here that have given up on the season. Those kinda people are not really fans. You really want to see some overreacting? Go check out a Yankees or Red Sox board when they're not going well. That kills anything that ever goes on around here. There's absolutely nothing wrong with calling out a player or team when they're not performing. You don't throw them in the trash when they're struggling. I'll never be down with that. But some criticism is fair. You have no right to speak. You started a negative thread once, so you've given up on this team. Just "stay home", J4l.

I had a McD's vanilla shake. So sue me. I'd love an oyster po boy with one big ass, ice cold, cheap beer.
-
The most negative thread of the last week or so came from one of the most optimistic posters, so I don't know what the hell you're seeing. There's so much wrong with this. Let me just say this: I'll say "F*** the Cubs" as often as I damn well please. And not you or a million WS victories will change that.
-
I just don't think it'll amount to much beyond what we've had before. Tv already gets most of the awkwardness (Dean, eg) -- I was surprised it didn't nab the macaca moment. Maybe just freeriding on the bloggers and the campaign teams?

Minor driving annoyance: Taking a right on red, and someone's crossing the street I'm turning onto. So I stop and wait for them to cross. Now, I don't expect anyone to run, but it's common courtesy to just walk briskly; and then there are the self-involved pricks who walk slower. Then you get the pos walking with his girl who gives you a dirty look to appear tough or something. What the f is your problem? I'm stopped so that you can cross the f'n street on your own sweet time, but it f'n offends just that I happen to be here, just that you don't have your own private goddam intersection?! I've had it with all these mfn idiots on the mfn streets MAKING ME LATE TO SEE SNAKES ON A PLANE. So I saw the next show. It was awesome.
