Julius. Jones. Testaverde has also played well, but JJ has made some pretty runs. The Seahawks have meanwhile collapsed. Alexander fumbled, Hasselbeck can't hit anyone -- it's just maddening. Privately, I really thought Seattle had a great Super Bowl shot this year. They would have been my pick from the NFC at the start of the season.

I thought you wanted pitching first? Our era was awful, I can't believe a pitcher should be put behind an outfielder.
-
No kidding. They've been pretty sad this year. At the start of the game, I thought Seattle was FINALLY playing up to their talent, I thought they would crunch Dallas. But the Cowboys started playing respectable, especially Julius Jones. Hope you get the finish!

If Armando Rios is juicing, I'm convinced there's no way of knowing. Why Pujols? You haven't seen him explode in size or power. He's just always been good. Some guys are just big and talented, like Hurt. I don't know, maybe there's evidence I haven't seen. But I've never suspected him.

I'm on the East coast, I hadn't even seen that. You're missing a good game. Seattle exploded early, Jerry Rice made one nice catch. Plus good hits (none great) by Roy Williams and Marcus Trufant. Even soft defenses have moments. And I have Hasselbeck on the bench, nuts.

I'm not entirely sold on Gload, but I'd like to see him in the batting order until he proves that he can't get on base in the ML. Whether that's at first or as DH, I don't really care. Of course, if Konerko is traded, that's not in conflict w/ your plan. But that's no sure thing. Btw, is Perez coming back? It's not a big deal, but it does seem like you might as well try something else.

I loved the sentence, "His lack of durability is obviously part of his charm." The Phils resigned Pratt, so Sandy's still unemployed.

I think that's right. I haven't heard it coming from KW before now. And this doesn't say much about the Sox at all. RJ wants to be in NY, or maybe St L or Anaheim. He's just trying to force their hand in one of those directions.
-
I never heard of that, so I tried to find a pic of the shirt somewhere online. I failed, but a couple places mention it. Along w/ another slogan: "Keep your head up"... Masturbation jokes are too easy. You're right, it was a big overreaction.

He was caught w/ a $40 shorty, but not $40 short. He already took delivery, after all. Or is it the other way around?...
-
The jokes could go on for paragraphs on that one...

Aw, Ace, are you giving up on Polanco?

Sox still remain favorites to sign Wright

The other 10% of us frighten children with how pale we are, we're lost causes... -
Now that's just too wonderful for words...

Yeah, but not until after the arbitration deadline. TLAK's right, if Maggs were solidly healthy, Boras might well hide it at this point. But I still have to trust the Sox on this -- the medical questions are just too important, and they have a LOT more info on Magglio's condition than any of us.

Did it say the 76ers would be interested? B/c the Bulls "might be interested in trading antonio davis" for LeBron, but... Why would the 76ers make that trade?
-
Hey, who had SOX up there for a few seconds? Go team!
-
I don't remember it, I was just looking at baseball-reference.com. Here's the link. Part of the Majewski-to-the-Dodgers trade, they say.
-
Departed as part of the Colon trade. We got him in a trade with the Dodgers.

Dunno if anyone's watching Packers-Eagles, but GB is getting the piss beat out of them. And Brett Favre looks like Jonathan Quinn. 35-0 close to half, the game's become an utter joke.

He might get $9 mil, but I think that's an upper limit after such a disappointing season. I don't think Renteria would risk it. If he gets an offer for $8.5 mil per for 2+ years (which he almost certainly will), he'll take it. The Cards, knowing that, will offer arbitration. Anyways, I haven't seen details on their $32 mil/4 yr offer, but you'd think it includes at least $6 mil in the first year. Would they risk losing him for nothing over a $2-something mil difference?
-
Nah... Whatever he gets in arbitration, he'll get that much in a long-term offer from someone. They'll offer arbitration. It may be a risk, but only a small one. They're smart guys in St Louis.

I'd be okay w/ that. Still a little uncertain about the bullpen and catcher, especially. But not bad. I assume you mean the only major moves. I hope they'd still take some fliers on a couple veterans and non-tenders.

WTF?!?!?! Yahoo said that I had f'n Dharma and Greg on Fox. I turn it on to watch GB-Philly, and the Bears are on. I've seen 1, ONE!!!!!!!!!!, Bears game this season. And I miss this. I guess they were just showing it for the last 10 minutes. How do I know this? B/c they just turned it off...for contractual obligations... I am so pissed off right now.
