Preston Wilson couldn't possibly have looked worse. Both these teams look like they're held together with duct tape.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 11:00 AM) Well, mine works as you can move the more flexible and talented player to a new position while not taking a chance with the less talented less flexible guy in a new position. I fail to see any huge adjustments in moving from rf to lf, unless from watching Pods, Dye has become convinced that a lf must be slow-reacting and throw poorly. This sounds like the logic that kept Kaz Matsui at ss when you've got Jose Reyes. No thanks.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 10:01 AM) Im assuming because of Ichiro's ability to play other fields such as CF, whilst Dye is only a RF'er and doesnt quite have the fielding talent, that it would be easier for Ichiro to move to LF whilst keeping Dye in RF. I could be wrong but it seemed like common sense to me. My common sense works the other way. Keep the better fielder in the more difficult, important position.

QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 19, 2006 -> 03:00 AM) I see that the quote button works. Thank God. I was worried.

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) I ordered mine on 10/3. They've been raising the price gradually the past couple of weeks. It was $25 on 10/6. Thanks for sharing? I checked DDD right away, but it was something like $28, $29. And no pin set. The pin set that I know I'll never look at again, but which I'm pissed to be lacking now. I make a ton of sense.

There's only one way to settle this once and for all. The first annual Soxtalk duel! Gory and educational. Just consider it.

Everything I've read just says 'his gun' (or something similarly generic), and a shotgun is involved, so I was just asking what tests they could do for a shotgun, in principle. I don't know either way what sort of gun he turned in. Of course I know what to do with a pistol. I have watched CSI, thank you very much.

QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 02:20 PM) Heaven's no. Not me personally. I might break a nail.... Sorry 'bout that. What'd the other guy lose?
-
QUOTE(Steff @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 02:07 PM) The first, and easiest, thing they will do is a ballistics comparison. Take the shells, casings, or bullets at the scene, compare them to a test shot of Juan's gun. If they match, he's got some explaining to do. If they don't, then he's clear. The guage is determined by the shot used. They would know that upon visual inspection of the spent shells at the crime scene. If the gun was cleaned, it will show it wasn't fired. Since he might be anal and clean his gun everyday, a result of that test wouldn't mean much. Been through this once or twice, huh, Steff?

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 01:36 PM) Depending on how sophisticated they get, using the distances between gun and target and the wounds on the victims, they could probably determine the guage of the shotgun. Similarly, maybe the barrell length, based on spread. But they'd need some scientific analysis. There may also be damage in the car, residue and what not. And yes, you can tell to some extent how long since it had been fired or cleaned. Okay, thanks.

QUOTE(Whitewashed in @ Oct 18, 2006 -> 02:15 AM) He says he has witnesses, his gun won't match the one that was fired, the blackmail. Dumb question -- What kind of a "match" can one do on a shotgun? Meaning it won't even be the right type of gun for these pellets? Or will a test show that it hasn't even been fired?

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 06:50 PM) I think Pierre is almost a One Dog clone. Overpaid by the Cubs and useless after? Not at all a bad comparison...

Don't believe it. Everyone knows Tex is a rampant liar and fabricator.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 04:56 PM) With guys like Milton Bradley and Frank Thomas...they did have a lot of guys who weren't exactly your classic wonderful clubhouse people. It hardly sounds like those were the only two he was having trouble with (if he was even having trouble with them, at all).
-
When I saw the quotes after game 3 from Chavez and Bradley conceding the series, my first thought was, What the hell kind of a clubhouse allows that? Then you read Melhuse's comments, and you still want to say this is just Beane being an ass? C'mon -- the last thing he wants to do with his budget is waste $2 mil. It sounds like Macha just lost his team.

Wait....... The entire purpose of this company is to indemnify the City against 9/11 claims, right? The company is not intended in any way to provide benefits, health or otherwise, to survivors or responders, right? If you set up an organization dedicated to maintaining that NYC is not liable, and they maintain that the City is not liable, why are you blaming the people of that organization? I see Post, I get sceptical. Gimme some detail, here.

QUOTE(RME JICO @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 03:29 PM) Someone got too close to his yipeta (four-wheel drive vehicle, from the word ‘jeep’), and got shot in the stomach and hands with some type of pellets. Yipeta is slang for SUV. Ah, okay. Thanks.

What is a "yipeta"?

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 15, 2006 -> 10:12 AM) New York Daily News I think. It's one of the main stories on prosportsdaily.com. Okay, thanks.

Congrats, Tigers. Now where's that puke smiley? Eric Chavez must be relieved. For a while it almost looked like the A's could win a game.
