  1. Wait, you mean that they have the internet on Computers now?
  2. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 21, 2009 -> 02:46 PM) Yeah, but at least Thome hit Mauer in the head with the bat that game. God, i was at that game, Mike Redmond got hit in the head, had to come out. Mauer was the DH had to come in and catchso the pitcher had to hit. We got blown out with a freaking pitcher hitting. That was a terrible game, Gavin Floyd looked a lot like he does this year that game!
  3. I remember reading that story and how messed up it was. I always have been a Nawton fan, i thought he was going to have a great season in 2000 before he tore up his knee, but that injury brought us the milkman, who i also became a fan of. Greg has turned himself into a good role player, i am still glad to see that!
  4. I still have the Curtis Conway Jersey, a Testaverde Ravens Jersey, but the all time worst jersey i have is: Steve Walsh # 4 Bears jersey, it was on sale for 10 bucks at Pennies in like 1995. I wear it for flag football. Granted he helped take them to the playoffs, but why the hell did i buy it?
  5. I am and would be terrible.....hit .270, strike out 40% of the time, throw funny, hurt a lot, but hustles so much that people think you are a better player than you actually are. my goal every year is to have as many hits as strikeouts, the more i play, the more dispairity there is between those two numbers. if i was ever able to pitch, i want to be like Charlie Haeger or Charlie Hough!
  6. I am not a leasing agent but do use them for renting out properties that work has. I think they are all commission, you get the freedom to set appointments only when you want to, but you need to generate your own leads most of the time. It could be a lucrative deal, but you have to hustle a little and convince the landlords to accept offers if their rents are too high, which can be tough. Remember it is somewhat seasonal work, we had a guy rent out four units in jan/feb, but that is a rarity because most leases are staged properly to end at the same time
  7. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Apr 16, 2009 -> 01:08 PM) Pasqua is not obscure, my man. He was the White Sox version of Chuck Norris. Dan Pasqua doesn't strike out...he hits homers in another dimension. Obscure would be a McKay Christiansen or Julio Ramirez jersey...speaking of which, either of those guys available for CF? Julio Ramirez was terrible........could not hit water if he fell out a boat. He was fast though! I would like a Paco Martin Lyle Mouton or a Warren Newson Jersey; those would be extremely Rare and quite stupid at the same time
  8. There was an awesome 1-dog jersey and also a Brook Fordyce jersey way back on that site. I did see a Rene Gonzales # 88 Jersey one time at a sox game, it must have been from the garage sale they have every year.
  9. This reminds me like in 2005 when we brought back Greg Norton to be an insurance policy in the minors when Crede got hurt. Just helping out an old friend get back on their feet. If it works out great, if not, it could show pods can still play, stay healthy, and get picked up by another team next year
  10. Do you remember when we were killing the Rangers and Scott Sheldon played all nine positions and struck out Jeff Liefer? It was a Rongey trivia question a few years ago and i won a jersey because iremembered the dudes name! The funniest is when Mark Grace pitched for the Diamondbacks and did an impersonation of Mike Fetters, complete with teh staredown of the batter. I do think he got rocked though. Doug Dascenzo actually pitched a few times for the Cubs and was not too bad, probably better there than in the field! Swisher did not do what i thought he was going to do when he was here, i hope he does well with the yanks, but am glad to see him gone as well.
  11. They are Vienna Beef dogs. I did not get a hot dog, but i do love evrything else they make. You can go to the Vienna Factory on Fullerton and each fresh hot dogs in thier cafeteria, those things are so freaking good! I think the big scoreboard was dim because it was so sunny outside, the true test will come tonight.
  12. I had a brat in the upper tank from the grill stand, it was the best brat i ever ate! It was hard to find the stand though, all the others had polish and hot dogs, not the brats. Maybe everything tastes better at the ballpark. What was up with the water in the bathrooms towards the end of the game, did they not pay their water bill? All i know is i had a beer right when i walked in, apprently the beer lines from the kegs were frozen, but that beer was so cold, it was like a beersicle. totall worth the $6.50. The flyover kicked ass, as well as the new scorboard. It was kind of hard to read from far away, but i think it is just because i need new glasses.
  13. BS in Mathematics Minors in Physics, Natural Science, and Classical Studies if only any of this could get me a new job (do not want to go the teaching route yet) Am back at a community college taking accounting classes, maybe having a specialized associates or something will make me more marketable to an employer
  14. I hate minivan drivers who do not know how to drive, BMW Drivers who drive like they own the world, people who think they are entitled, teenagers, boneheaded baseball moves, bikes who do not stop at stop signs like the laws say, and budweiser beer, except for bud light in the alumninim bottle, thsoe are cool. I guess the closer you get to thirty, the grumpier you get!
  15. My problem is that i already have the boxes, but the signal is weak as hell. I hope that they amplify the signal so i can get a solid picture without it cutting in and out. I know the easy way to fix this is get cable or direct tv, but that is too expensive for the budget right now... When the picture works, it looks great, it is just annoying as hell...
  16. I still have a laserdisk with tons of movies! It would suck if DVD's are eventually phased out, how many copies of Apocolypse Now do i need in different mediums?
  17. The 2000 team is still one of my favorites, who can forget "the kids can play?" slogan? I was at the fight game against Detroit and that made me like the team even more. Frank had a resurgence that year, was robbed of the mvp, greg norton was having a decent year, go hurt, enter the milkman to save the day. The only thing i dislike about that team was the signing of Ken Hill to try and fill teh fifth starters spot, he got ROCKED! I like the 2008 team, but 2000 was just special, remember Pauly running around the bases and slifding into home in the Metrodome after we clinched, those were good times!
  18. I have been heartattack since high school. I was always a second baseman, but USED to be able to run fast. Coaches decided to put me in the outfield, i would always look like i was camped under a flyball but then at the last second make some crazy adjustment to catch the ball, giving the coaches and my teammates a "heartattack" Name has stuck to this day, and i still catch flyballs the same way!
  19. I was really down on him the first half of the year, but he came in and solidified the defense at third base when Crede went down. Watching Fields there was brutal. Granted, i think his positioning could be better (seemed to be a lot of grounders going in between him and OC) but i thought he did an okay job and would love him back as a utility player! Plus he seems to keep the club loose, who does not like the blond chin hair?
  20. The play at the plate was awesome! I was not sure if griff could get the ball home! Brian's catch was great too, JD was celebrating before BA even dove, at least that is what it looked like to me!
  21. Last year when i realized that any physical activity will leave me sore, and when you get hurt, the injuries just nag at you instead of going away....
  22. I was laughing so hard when i saw this saturday! I had fallen asleep and woke up to see the fake press conference and really was not sure what was going on!
  23. I have three TPX Ohmaha Bats, all 33" 30 oz. two are the gold models and one is orange. All three are now cracked from my baseball team using them, but damm, those bats had some pop! The first gold one was amazing, made me wish i had the money in high school to buy a bat because it is amazing what a decent bat can do for your swing! I have an wilson A2000 mitt that is apparently a pitchers mitt, i love the thing, i had the same model mitt but it was stolen at Loyola Park a few years ago, so i replaced it, but it is not as good as the first one. Same model mitt, just has a different feel to it! It ios perfect for baseball in the outfield and infield for 12" softball!
  24. That really stinks, i liked their food. if you wanted to eat on a saturday at 7 PM and not wait an hour and a half, Bennigan's was the place to go! Granted, that may be why they shut down.....
