  1. Let's strive mightily to win the game because it's more fun than losing and we have lost enough
  2. I feel bad for our pitching staff. They can't get the job done and you can tell they want so badly to win
  3. Tim Anderson will come around just fine. People need to have some heart. We are dealing with human beings here.
  4. Not much you can do considering our starting pitching is a shambles. Tomorrow night will most likely be 8 losses in a row as Pelfrey seems to be a four inning starter
  5. You are hearing it from Hawk and his rationale is sound
  6. I am guessing that when Leury is ready to come back we will see Engel sent down to Charlotte
  7. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Jul 22, 2017 -> 12:42 AM) Good job working the count and getting an RBI, was surprised he didn't hit that ball harder, got in on him somewhat. At least he made contact but it was Avi's heads up running to score. Narvarez picks up Anderson with an RBI single
  8. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 21, 2017 -> 07:08 PM) The next two months are going to be a rough ride as the White Sox will struggle in nearly every aspect of the game. Losses will pile up propelling us to a top 3 draft pick. In the offseason we will be active in the rule 5 draft, and possibly minor free agent signings similar to Holland to fill out our roster. We have dealt most of our major trade chips, but Sox will be open to more moves if the right deal comes across. 2018 will also be a struggle, although we should start to see some of the fruits of the farm emerge as players like Lopez, Moncada, etc. will get a to continue their development at the mlb level. Expect plenty of losses and an ugly season similar to 2017. Look for progress through our farm system as players in low A/high A ball ideally get promoted up the ladder and continue developing. Offseason after 2018 should be when we start to get very active with free agents. 2019 season should be a step forward, ideally back to around .500 baseball, possibly better if everything breaks right. You lost me with us being active in rule V draft. You might find one prospect who is young but needs to stay the whole year with the big club.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:35 AM) Didn't see the Anderson bunt. Are u all positive he didn't run it out? That's a no no from a youngster. Wonder if the media will ask Renteria about it. Probably would be a tough question to ask considering the game means nothing at this stage of the season. Probably no need to cause a scene but if he didn't hustle ... scary. Two strike bunt and he bunted it too hard. He kind of looked at the pitcher who threw to third for a force. Tim was kind of looking at it and then ran. If he had hustled he would have been safe
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:28 AM) Jesus there isn't an out yet is there. Holmberg got a K for the first out. I think the ump helped set that up though. Based loaded again and Anderson to Moncada to Abreu DP gets us out of it
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:25 AM) Can this inning end so #10 has one more shot to get up please? This has been an ugly inning
  12. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 03:11 AM) I wasn't arguing that he wasn't going to figure it out, just that it will be too late to be useful to the Sox when he does. I agree that he has too much talent to never figure it out; just not sure that it will happen here. I think you are being to pessimistic. Our super minor league talent is going to hit Chicago in like 2-3 years. Anderson is our SS going forward and Rodon an ace lefty. They will be there
  13. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:57 AM) He's 24, coming off an injury that's held him out most of the year, and pitching against the best team in baseball. I'm pretty sure this one rough outing doesn't doom him to failure. I am betting even Sandy Koufax wasn't perfect his first couple years
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:34 AM) Nope but he, along with Anderson, are the guys you hope to see progress as the year goes on Anderson and Rodon will recover. Too much talent. Sometimes things just don't go the way we would like. I think it is a learning experience for the youngsters
  15. QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:49 AM) Yep, Rodon sucks. Its like hes making his 4th start or something Next they will try and blame an injury for his lack of sharpness and claim he was building up strength and consistency. . Or something crazy like that
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2017 -> 02:36 AM) That's why you play for one run Now I understand
  17. Seagar hits the LAD's 4th homer of the night. A two run shot and it's 5-1 and Rodon is knocked out
  18. Rodon has given up three solo homers while our offense uses a terrible bunt as its offensive weapon
