  1. I think having a healthy Avisail Garcia with some learning experience time will work out for the Sox. He has a ton of talent and I think he is willing to do what is necessary to improve as a player. Why throw him out to pick up a castoff? Plus I think Trayce Thompson may very well be in contention as the 4th OF'er or a starter, if the team moves around, or changes, the DH role
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 18, 2015 -> 05:15 PM) Respectful would also include not turning every single thread into the exact same trite referendum on ownership. Agreed. Too much negativity. Let's try supporting the team and ownership for a change. The great thing about baseball is there is always next season. 2016 can be great!
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 12, 2015 -> 03:33 PM) Two years ago, Yasiel Puig would have brought back any player in baseball other than Trout and probably Harper. Today, the Cubs would hesitate at least a bit to trade Schwarber for him...having already experienced the Sammy Show. Things change so quickly now in baseball. Once in a generation hitters are guys like Pujols, Trout, Bonds, Miggy Cabrera, Gywnn, Boggs and Harper. He's going to be better than Jose Bautista, for example? Schwarber has two tools...but can't run, field or throw exceptionally well. The jury is still out on whether guys like Bryant and him can also be high average hitters as well. we could have an off season argument here about once in a generation hitters LOL, but I will add Frank Thomas to that group
  4. Reporters must be hard up to fill their twitter quotas, if we have to read constant speculation. I am sure Smard will be targeted by a number of clubs and I bet the Sox talk to him too
  5. HuskerHickory mentions Beckham but I think Gordo signed a two year deal didn't he?
  6. Nice research by Douglas, but I think we should also get some home run hitters so Veeck's exploding scoreboard doesn't rust
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 12:29 PM) I wanted to start one more game thread this season, but not more than one, so I picked Samardzija's start. Let's see whether the Sharkmeister has really figured it out. Let's get a win tonight
  8. That's all there is for the season folks! See in you in 2016
  9. The final week should have been better for the Sox chances, but oh well
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 09:15 PM) Dan Hayes ‏@CSNHayes 6m6 minutes ago Sounds like tonight could be Carlos Rodon's last start for #WhiteSox. I have to say this was a good learning year for him. He has done really well for a first year pitcher. I think he is learning that he must attack the strike zone and be aggressive as well as improve that control.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2015 -> 12:14 AM) All right, an hour after the loss and we're still under 25 posts for our game threads with still a week left in the season! Congratulations Rick and Kenny! we lost
  12. we have played tough with the Yanks for two games now in Yankee Stadium. Let's continue
