  1. How many homers does the Shark give up? I know we have lefties going for the Tigers but do you think we ever see Laroche again this season or beyond?
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) I think it's just that we don't score very much and we don't get many people out when they put the ball in play normally so the ones we give up hurt a lot more. It's a nightmare
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 07:40 PM) This might be the least interested I have been in a Sox game in a very long time. I think the interest the rest of the year lies in seeing whether Abreu gets 30 homers and 100 RBI's and maybe gets that average to .300. All doable. The other is to see how many more K's Sale gets
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 07:01 PM) We've given up 150 HR coming into today, the average for teams in the AL is 155, so we're a tiny bit above average in giving up HR. It just seems we are worse than that. I guess it might be the the timing of our homers allowed that is so frustrating
  5. to answer my own question I checked baseball reference and with this game I believe our pitchers have allowed 151 homers minimum
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 20, 2015 -> 06:02 PM) Cleveland apparently up 2 in the 2nd inning on a Chisenhall HR. Who knew that baseball season was still going on? Well, I am not surprises Danks, or any other Sox pitcher, gave up a home run. I think we have like 127 offensive homers and I wonder how many our pitchers have allowed? This is probably the biggest disappointment and maybe outright failure of this team and that's our offensive output. We live in a hitters ballpark and yet have like the second worse offensive homerun output in the AL
  7. He will get a qualifying offer. If he doesn't take it we get a draft pick. My guess he is with this organization next year one way or the other
  8. Let's move into Detroit by moving ahead of both the Tribe and the Tigers in the standings. We need to win
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 18, 2015 -> 02:44 PM) Remember when Y. Ventura quick-pitched Eaton and it led to that brawl? And Samardzija was in the middle of it all, and most of us loved him for it? How times have changed... well that is right on... it's all about what have you done for me lately, or in baseball the last game, the last inning the last batter...
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 10:18 PM) For reference, now that I've looked into how poorly the average free agent actually performs and given that our strategy is to go after the mid-level guys who don't get top dollar, I disagree with this. I don't think it's amazing at all, I think that's exactly what you should expect from the class of free agents we're targeting. as far as Robertson is concerned the question to be asked is can he turn it around in 2016 and get back to what the Yankees and Sox both thought he would be? I think he can do that and I also don't think Nate Jones is quite there yet either. He has been hit hard the last few times out. Since DR has a four year contract I don't see him going anywhere
  11. The only difference between Addison Reed and David Robertson is the contract. What has Robertson given up the last two games versus the A's? Seven runs I think
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 08:54 PM) Colleen Kane ‏@ChiTribKane 36m36 minutes ago Olt's homer estimated at 443 feet. Now has 3 for the year, 1 with the Cubs, 2 with the Sox. Is he trying to make people change their minds about his Sox future? Although today he is at 1B and made an error. I think that's 4 at 3B and 1 at 1B. He did make a good play or two last night though
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 17, 2015 -> 07:22 PM) Realistically, these are the guys who should be playing right now anyway. Plus it's a day game after a night game and the getaway game. If you have players brought up in Sept this is the type of game you put them in to play
