QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:36 PM) I actually envy 2k5. I wish I could just love the White Sox because they're my team and they're the White Sox. The '06 collapse just bothers the f*** out of me. If they could've just gotten in they would've rolled though everybody. And since then? Good god. I don't understand why you wouldn't love the White Sox simply because it's your team? I have been a Sox fan since 1959 when I started playing little league baseball. My first glove was a Nellie Fox model. I support the Sox period. So I sure do undrstand what 2k5 and others are sauing

QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Aug 5, 2015 -> 01:46 AM) Today August 4th marks 30 years...30 years??????????? since Tom Seaver won his 300th game. We've got audio cuts from that historic event up now at Chicago Now / Sox Net (with thanks to Daniel). You can relive the final out as well as some of Seaver's postgame interview. Oh yes August 4th was also the day Carlton Fisk got into the Hall of Fame and Robin Ventura actually showed some (OK a lot of emotion) in Texas. I hope you enjoy reading / listening. Here's the link: http://www.chicagonow.com/soxnet/2015/08/t...ra-fights-ryan/ Mark I love the old historic audio. I bought a couple tapes some years back one being the 1967 game where Horlen beat Lonborg 4-1 in Fenway. I think Joel Horlen should have been the Cy Young winner that year. I also got one from 1965 I think it was where Smoky Burgess hit a PH double against the Tigers. There is always something to enjoy from every year of Sox baseball. I remember seeing Seaver pitch for the Sox on TV games. He was a great competitor. Always a thrill to watch

If Rodon doesn't give up multiple home runs we have a chance -
Ventura "absolutely" wants to manage White Sox next season

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 09:35 PM) Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan 5m5 minutes ago Robin Ventura, who is under contract for 2016, said he "absolutely" wants to manage White Sox next season. And he will. Hopefully with better results in 2016 -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2015 -> 02:45 PM) This thread exists because of Ryan f***ing Raybrun. God I hate that guy. I hear you brother. There seems to be that one guy out there we can't get past, but they keep pitching to him. I am a bit baffled about the number of homers our pitchers give up though. Our hitters have gone South it seems when it comes to the long ball

QUOTE (harkness @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 07:56 PM) Is vulnerable. His fast ball when he tries to bury it inside.. a lot of people can turn it around. He needs to be traded while his value is still high and before the league catches on

It feels so much better to win then lose

If I read things right Sale can set a new pitching record tonight with the number of starts in a season with at least 10K's breaking Randy Johnson's old mark
-
So nice to sweep KC. This team is making a run at the wild card. We aren't giving up until we do
-
Johnson gave up three solo homers! Puts him in good company on this team

I want to see more home run power next year. That is all!

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Sep 6, 2015 -> 12:34 AM) Beckham is in the lineup tonight. Just the player the Front Office should be trying to get a good look at. He has filled his row as a super IF utilityman quite nicely. Good defense. We forget too quickly what the original intent was in signing Gordo and Bonifacio. Emilio failed.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 04:19 PM) If Danks is our #3, good luck winning more than 72-74 games. I guess it doesn't matter how you slot Erik Johnson, Montas and/or Fulmer...but those rookie pitchers (and EJ's barely past the innings limit, so technically 2nd year) are going to have to pitch a lot better than Samardzija and Rodon this season. Not likely. It's hard to count on more than one of them having an ERA under 4, in all honesty. And it would seem insane to spend money on a FA pitcher (think Latos/Iwakuma level) to replace Samardzija when they need to pitch Johnson/Montas/Fulmer in order to prepare them all for THEORETICALLY trying to compete in 2017 (3rd year of the supposed window). I strongly believe it's Danks returning to full strength and that has taken time. I see his fastball topping out around 92 MPH more and more, which makes his killer changeup that much better. It is so easy to be a pessimist. Let's be positive for a change. I think we will see some fun stuff this off season. It will be interesting to see who stays, who goes and who is added. 2016 is just around the corner baseball fans.

Danks did good and I am happy plus the offense is a great thing to see.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 4, 2015 -> 05:07 PM) Danks has been solid against the Royals even this year. 4 games against them, 3.80 ERA. Beat me to it. It will be a close game I am betting
