  1. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 03:03 PM) For some people, we should do everything to sign Buehrle regardless of long term ramifications. I love Mark, but come on. The comment was made on this post about signing MB for nostalgia's sake. I beg to differ as I think it's his history and continued performance. I would sign him in a heartbeat, but I do not believe he will be signed by the Sox. Our loss
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) Chris Sale, Carlos Rodon, Erik Johnson, Carson Fulmer, John Danks, Free agent?, Chris Beck, Francellis Montas. Not as strong as this year's rotation on paper but could very easily be just as good. Equally fair question in reply would be "who the he** will play 3b and RF and C and 2b and SS and DH" for the White Sox next year if we don't move him to fill some of those gaping holes. I would not trade our best pitchers regardless of what people think we may get back. Pitching wins! I think what we will see is Sale-Quintana-Rodon-Johnson and either the Shark or Danks. I doubt Fullmer is ready or Montas for 2016. Now 2017 is a different story
  3. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) If the Sox are serious about making September interesting it has to start tonight. With 7 straight at home against the Red Sox and Mariners it's time to make a push. These are two teams we can and should beat
  4. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 24, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) Anderson has, by multiple reliable accounts, improved his defense substantially this year. I feel fairly confident now that he'll stick at short. I think he is a year or two away from making the team, but he certainly has a future with the Sox
  5. No one in my house falls asleep during ANY White Sox game.
  6. The team is back to 4 1/2 out of the wild card.
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 13, 2015 -> 01:05 AM) Tommy Viola ‏@Tommy_the_V 2h2 hours ago .@KnightsBaseball's Matt Davidson named Best Defensive 3B in the IL by @BaseballAmerica. #congrats This is pretty encouraging reviews, especially from BA. Even though he struggles with contact, if he can still bring power and is good defensively, does he a September call up? That he is named the best defensive 3B player in the IL is a good thing. I don't think the Sox are giving up on Davidson. I also am not convinced the reason he wasn't called up is a decison to go only with Saladino, who has played some good 3B himself.
  8. Watched the game on ROOT sport. Sale aced Hernandez. What a performance!
  9. I will be watching on the ROOT sports network
  10. Pretty excited to watch Sale versus Hernandez last night even though it was on the Mariner's broadcast. Sale with 14 K's and he dusted the King. I proclaim Sale KING!. Tonight Rodon goes for the Sox
  11. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 07:17 PM) I just got a ticket for $36 row 22 behind the Sox dugout for Sunday. Anyone else gonna be there? I sat same place last year and moved to the front row the ushers are pretty nice down there and you can hang by the dugout and interact with the players before the game. Safeco is a nice park. Last year there was a small contingent of Sox fans around. Last time I was there I wore my Sox hat and some old guy ushers tried to run my out of the ballpark and throw me on the trains going by. However, I was able to fight them off until they ran out of breath. But, then one old timer started talking about growing up in Chicago and being a fan of Nellie Fox so it wasn't all bad LOL

Couldn't swing it this year because of family reunions and she went earlier. Anyone know a good lawyer as this is unacceptable to me
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 06:21 PM) I'm not panicked about this signing for the same reason I didn't panic initially -- It's a two year deal and while it's for significant money, it's not for crippling money. LaRoche has been bad, but it's gonna be alright. We kept Dunn and we will keep Laroche. I agree that he should have played 1B more and Abreu DH more. It seems that Jose has some ankle and foot issues. He has done a passable job on defense but Laroche was a gold glover. I do not think he is finished yet and hopefully 2016 will be better
  14. QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Nov 22, 2014 -> 01:29 AM) @BNightengale: The Chicago #WhiteSox just signed 1B Adam LaRoche to a 2 year, $25 million contract. @BNightengale: LaRoche and Abreu will be formidable punch for #whitesox in middle of lineup The dynamic duo... in 2016!
  15. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 02:10 PM) Jose Quintana actually received run support with a 5 run outburst in the 5th inning that had its share of bad play by the Angels and bad umpiring. Up until that point the Sox had hit a few barely foul rockets so when Jose Abreu hit another one down the left field line that was called foul it was just Sox luck continuing to be bad. But luckily instant replay showed the ball hit the line and the foul ball became a 2 RBI double since men were on 1st and 3rd . Saladino was allowed to score from 1st because he was running on the pitch and the umps determined he would 've scored given the jump he had and his speed. Quintana went 6 innings allowing 8 hits 2 walks 3 K's and 2 earned runs. He always had men on base but much like Samardzija the day before, he escaped a few jams. Other good things: Soto had a 2 strike bunt base hit after he had hit a barely foul rocket down the right field line. Angel's handling of the bunt wasn't the best either. Eaton stole a base. Avisail Garcia gunned down Giovatella attempting to stretch a single into a double. With the Sox ahead 6-2 Adam LaRoche hit a 2 run bomb to right center field and was 2-4. 3 Sox relievers ( Jones, Petricka , Jennings) pitched an inning apiece of no hit ball. Only a Jones walk sullied the 3 innings of near perfection. Final White Sox 8 Angels 2 Got to see the final three innings as bonus coverage on MLB Network. I liked the Angel announcers. They were all starry eyed for their own team and really were fair in their announcing and even liked Hawk and Stone. They really were impressed with the defense of Carlos Sanchez. Good relief pitching by the Sox and I loved Laroche's homer.
  16. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 21, 2015 -> 02:49 PM) If LaRoche goes crazy and hits 9 hrs thru end of season for 20...how will we look back on his year? Probably more like how will it translate in 2016.
