  1. Let's sing Chicago you bustling town after we beat the Yankmeeeees
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 05:08 AM) LaRoche is hot with four hits. Too bad Rodon was trash. Our pitching let us down tonight and now a losing streak has begun. Can they halt the streak this weekend before it gets ridiculous again? Laroche's performance was encouraging (with the bat and the pithing LOL). Plus Abreu is driving the ball out of the ball park again. We need Avisail to figure it out
  3. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 04:24 PM) I'd say it's much more likely to get solved in the big leagues. In the minors his stuff is so overwhelming that people will expand the zone to defend against it. In the big leagues, the hitters have caught up and you can't overwhelm them with stuff. You have to throw strikes or you won't succeed. In the minors there are ways around that. Oh, and EJ will have the same issue when he comes up. I agree and I think he did last year and his ego took a beating.
  4. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 06:20 AM) This isn't overreacting on just tonight's start. Since we're keeping Shark for now and EJ is ready for another big league stint, we should let Rodon go back to the minors and work on his changeup and command. You can't survive in the big leagues throwing 93% FB and slider with terrible command. I think the move benefits us both in the short term and long term. He had a bad game. He has had several very good games. He needs to throw strikes and attack the hitters. When he walks folks then he gets in trouble. Possibly based on the logic thrown out there we should send Sale down because he hasn't been all that sharp since the All-Star break and seven days off
  5. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Jul 31, 2015 -> 02:41 PM) What's a normal age to start following a team as a die-hard? I'm 25 but my first season following the White Sox all the way through was the 2004 team. I guess I was a late bloomer. You guys are all young whipper snappers. I was 8 years old in 1959 when I first started following baseball and the White Sox were my team. My first baseball glove was a Nellie Fox model.
  6. Taken from Whtesox.com website: The White Sox have reportedly added Triple-A shortstop Justin Sellers in a trade with the Pirates, though nothing has been confirmed by either club. After missing the first three months of the season with an Achilles injury, Sellers hit .288/.339/.308 in 52 at-bats in the Pirates' Minor League system. He has spent time at second and third base this season, to go along with shortstop. Sellers has yet to play in the Majors this year after he went 3-for-16 in 17 games for the Indians last season. A sixth-round pick of the A's in 2005, Sellers spent his first three seasons with the Dodgers, with whom he batted .198/.280/.294 with three home runs. AJ Cassavell is a reporter for MLB.com. 7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 09:00 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeymanCBS 25s25 seconds ago Have heard chisox are on upton and cespedes now. Things have really turned around for south siders Both possibilities are intriguing. I might opt for Cespedes first though. Teaming him up with our Cuban players might help him. He seems more mature than Viciedo, but a leader like Abreu can only help him I think
  8. What do we need? Another starter? I could see Danks being used as trade bait but he most likely wouldn't bring back much. He has done a decent job for us but that salary would be a drag. We would be sitting real strong with who we have if Avisail would pick it up.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 06:03 PM) I like it honestly. Those loose lips cost us Miggy right? And I think Torii Hunter when he dissed us for LALa land
  10. 1983 second half where the Sox were darn near unbeatable and the rest of the division needed binoculars to see the Sox taillights up ahead
  11. Could be a Shark sighting on Sunday if the rotation stays the way I think it is
  12. Let us strive mightily for the win as found in the Book of Baseball Ruth 1:1
  13. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:08 PM) They're seemingly determined not to have Micah Johnson set foot anywhere near the MLB defense for now. And/or they're looking to trade him, but who knows with KW and his penchant for dealing prospects... You are replacing a super sub kind of guy with another. Johnson would be a guy you would want to keep in the line up every day. Same goes for someone like Davidson. You don't want them sitting on the bench
  14. QUOTE (harkness @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:04 PM) If Soto isn't catching more he needs to be DHing more. Not a good idea to put your spare catcher in at any spot especially DH as tempting as getting his bat in there more might be
  15. We should keep Alexei for 2016 and 2017. By then someone from the farm should be ready to step in at SS
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) Less than a week ago, the Sox were in last place. They are now just as close to a playoff spot as they are last place. If only Robertson didn't give up that triple to Molina. And this is the problem we may have at the closer spot. I like Robertson and he is better that Reed when we had Addison, but their psyches can get off kilter when the run into some trouble. He has been shaky the last few time out. He needs a good clean outing or two and hopefully get back to lights out
  17. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 01:17 PM) SSS wrote a nice article outlining some possible scenarios involving a Bonafacio DL stint. While my preference would be to try out Thompson to improve the team defense, Im thinking it might seriously be time to consider bringing up Erik Johnson and moving Danks to the pen. If this team is serious about contending this season, you cannot be trotting Danks out there every 5 days. Erik Johnson has given up 2 runs over his last 47 innings, it's time for him to start in the majors. I think you are missing the point of having the utility player on the roster.
  18. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 28, 2015 -> 08:55 PM) Seriously. Why is Beckham playing? Because he is amember of the team and in a platoon role is giving someone a rest
