  1. Rodon needs to mix up his pitches and keep it in the strike zone area
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2015 -> 11:00 PM) 10 outs, 10 base runners...needs to keep the Sox in the game here. just going to post that. Three innings and ten baserunners ain't too sharp
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ May 28, 2015 -> 09:46 PM) Frustrating because Cooper said one of the main reasons they called him up is cause they could trust him with his control. And I think that is the botom line for Beck. He has to have his control to be effective as he isn't a velocity type guy
  4. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 28, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) because he can actually hit. Are we talking about the same Soto? Looking at his batting avwrgae I wonder LOL
  5. QUOTE (greg775 @ May 28, 2015 -> 09:03 PM) Leaving Duke in was fine IMO. It's not like Petricka is great. Glad Petricka got the save, though. But, the 9th inning homer allowed by Sox releif pitchers is becoming tiresome and worrisome. I hope we are not seeing a repeat of years past where the pen blew games with frequency
  6. Why would you DFA someone when it's only a one game special? The only way I see that happening is if the Sox are committed to bringing up Beck for the rest of the season
  7. Remember we are plucking the Birds in the second game for this pick
  8. Even though we lost Tuesday 10-9 we won todaywith both games showing some offense that wouldn't quit
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ May 27, 2015 -> 09:09 PM) I'm a fan of Robin's decision to let Roberston back in there. I think he had just about had to do it. He would have been cruxified on this site if Robertson blew it again but the decision was sound and worked
  10. A snake bit Robertson and the Sox need this last out
  11. A win would be very helpful. Also it would be a great morale booster if the Shark pitches his second good game in a row
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 27, 2015 -> 04:13 PM) That being said, the only way Ventura leaves Chicago is if he quits. I agree. I don't see this move, which if made, certainly may be considered a knee jerk and panic move being done. I am sorry and concerned for the soxtalk members who are in the gloom and doom cycle and if we can start some type of mental halth counseling fundraiser for them I am on board.
  13. the worse thing we can do is panic and start selling off the team. The season is still young and even if we don't get into the playoffs this season we have a good solid group of talented players for the future
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2015 -> 09:42 PM) With as much as has gone badly this year, it is amazing this team isn't dead and buried already. If we even get average seasons going from our top players, this team has a lot of run left in them. I love your optimism and I will board that train
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 26, 2015 -> 03:13 PM) I'd really love to know what is going on this year with first inning pitching. We have some damned good pitchers who are just awful this year to start games, and I don't remember this being an issue in years past. I wouldn't think it would be warm up routine, because why would that have changed? Would the bullpen mound have changed? Grasping at straws here. This is the great unknown and the question that needs to be answered. You would think a pitchers pre-game routine is to get him ready to start out the game effectively so what are we missing?
  16. Listen we can win this game. Heck they can't even spell in Canada. Rogers CENTRE? It's CENTER folks EH!
