Got to hand it to Jeff Smardshark for bearing down after that rocky second ining. Maybe this is a good sign... I hope so. The game ended with Robrtson doing what we signed him to do. Awesome ending striking out the side. Shuck came through with his basehit to plate the eventual winning run

Cooper has been with this team a long time. I do understand the groundball type pitcher in relief as we are looking at the Cell being a flyball HR type park. Hit it into the ground and hope for a DP. I don't see any issues myself with who we have in the pen. We have guys who can get the strike out and guys who can get the GIDP when needed. If we look at just the last four games you really have to say that all pitchers have failed and so has the offense. I admit I was a bit concerned with the late spring training displays by our pitchers. It seemed for awhile there and then in the opener we were always giving up ten runs. I am confident things will get better

Are we done crying in our beer yet? Motivation to win comes from within each individual. These players are professionals and will give their best. After four games we are once again hating on Beckham, calling for Ventura to be axed and looking at Semien and Shark trade as a failure. I think what we have going for us is to be in a divson where all teams will beat up on each other and once we start rolling, which hopefully is today, we can make up four games after all we have 158 left.

If we don't win the Twins series it will really raise some questions/concerns. The Tigers shut out the Twins in two of their games and they Royals took it to the Sox. Two of our main competitors have shown up to play. We need to step up. Yes it is a long season and this team has too much talent to not compete but you don't want to start falling to far behind your competition early and then have to dig out of a deep hole.
