  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 05:10 PM) This should mean no relief work for Rodon I think e is better as a starter, but might be starting at AAA in 2015
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 11, 2014 -> 05:04 PM) Mike Ferrin ‏@MikeFerrinSXM 31s32 seconds ago Per @Marlins White Sox get LHP Dan Jennings (not GM Dan Jennings) for Andre Rienzo. Another solid pen add for White Sox Now who is going to show me the hot spots to pick up chicks in Brazil? Oh yeah I ain't never going to Rio. Good trade
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 05:28 PM) If they can come to an extension, I am game. If not, pass. I think this is really the bottom line. Taking Smard on a one year plan is acting in a desperation type manner. You don't give up talent or even established stars for a one year rental if you are the Sox
  4. Trading Alexei Ramirez for Smard isn't a good move by the Sox. You may gain a very good starting pitcher for one year but weaken yourself at a critical position. Now if we can sign him to a longer term deal before actually completing the deal then maybe, bit I would rather gibe Benebag a couple/three minor league prospects and not Alexei
  5. Fake people have no life other than to cause problems. Not to start a conversation or debate but I am not sure we would go after Shields or Scherzer because of the amount of money. I think there are some good cheaper options out there. Not to say we wouldn't like one of those two though
  6. There is no logical reason to trade a future Cy Young award winner, who is arguably the best LH starter in the AL for a bunch of Red Sox players, who haven't made the cut with the Bosox. There are plenty of other options to fill our perceived needs then to trade someone you are trying to build around
  7. QUOTE (flavum @ Nov 19, 2014 -> 09:17 PM) For now. The average major league team used 24 pitchers this year. It's a constant revolving door with bullpens. As long as Santos wouldn't be on the 40-man, I'd have no problem if they gave him a look. easy enough to sign him to a minor league contract with an invite to ST
  8. This signing looks good for he Sox. Basically $5M a year so we have a lot of money left for salaries and signings
  9. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 08:03 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes · 12m 12 minutes ago Rick Hahn, Andrew Friedman got creative, funky on Jesse Crain trade. Relationship could aid an Alexei Ramirez deal http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/histor...i-ramirez-trade Creatively funky? I don't remember that Crain ever pitched an inning for the Rays did he? I see no reason to be trading Ramirez for any outfielder LA has just based on their money heavy contracts and injuries. It almost seems like folks thing the Dodgers would be doing us a favor. I can see a possibility that Ramirez is dealt but I think maybe a more realistic possibility is that Gillaspie, Semien or Sanchez get dealt
  10. Oh for the days when Bill Veeck sat up shop in the hotel lobby "Open for Business."
  11. I am not frustrated with lack of moves. The Winter Meetings in December is where the real splashes are made, but we may move early for sure. Plus we have until opening day April 2015. Why are we starting to hate on KW now?
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 10:44 PM) Bruce Levine ‏@MLBBruceLevine 5m5 minutes ago LH reliever Andrew Miller drawing interest from many teams including the White Sox and Cubs . Can set up or close . I like it plus I would look at Cotts too
  13. I am not real familiar with the WGN and WGNA designation or difference. But, hopefully I am good here with WGNA as our local cable provider just upgraded to HD for that channel
  14. I was doing some inquiries of my own on the Sox and WGN baseball broadcasts for 2015 and this is what I just received back today We anticipate having at least 30 in-season games televised by WGN thru the 2019 season. Thank you for your interest in the Chicago White Sox. sent by Bob Grim | Sr. Dir., Broadcasting & Business Development | Chicago White Sox
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2014 -> 10:32 PM) Fresh off of the presses from the land of Duh. White Sox Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com 9 mins · White Sox To Decline Option On Felipe Paulino http://dlvr.it/7MsBXt This is a good thing. My guess there will be plenty of reclamation projects out there to look at if we just want to take some chances at reasonable prices. Paulino just didn't work out
  16. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 29, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) Why do people hate Gordon Beckham but like Rasmus? Because they undervalue our own talent and eat their young around here.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 07:07 AM) Getting him back would make me happy. Nothing wrong with five lefties in the rotation IMO. Can't be any different if it was five righties. The main thing to consider is simply can they get people out
  18. Hindsight is 20/20. Too early to give up on Davidson
  19. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 03:27 AM) This team does need more swag after getting rid of the Slayer I would rather sign Gordon Beckham this off season once LAA pass on his contract
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 4, 2014 -> 05:19 PM) If they had Alexei at a negative number, there is a major problem with the stat. I agree with this. Plus the idea of moving players around to different positions because they supposedly suck at one doesn't mean they are going to do better magically at another. I kind of believe that if you can't play defense when you make the mayors then forget it
  21. THIS SEASON IS OVAH! I have officially capitulated and accept the unacceptable. Wait till next year
  22. I never agreed with instant replay, but this rule about home plate and blocking it etc is totally absurd
  23. Goodbye 2014 season and Adios Paul Konerko. Thanks for the memories PK
