  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) That .170 is better than whatever Gordon's hitting. It doesn't have to be Semien vs. Gordon for the 2 spot. You can easily just put Alexei there, ya know, since he's probably the team's second best hitter right now. What's your comparison line? Semien has a future but he isn't the answer right now
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 06:27 PM) Pitch counts are worthless anyway. I heard that somewhere I guess treat this game as a spring training game. If Noesi can go 3 innings minimum we should feel lucky and then use the bullpen. It would be great to see lots of offense today from our guys and DEFENSE
  3. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 01:45 AM) Hit 3 balls hard and nothing. That's annoying. Verlander never struck anyone out so that's encouraging. I think we will get to him tonite
  4. Did anyone really foresee such a bad start for team pitching? I know some were concerned about the bullpen
  5. QUOTE (Señor Ding-Dong @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 04:14 AM) Overreaction much? He got off to a bad (terrible) start, but he battled back and did pretty well the rest of the game. He's started twice now, was solid in each, and is 2-0. He had some good games last year, too. What are you expecting from a 5th starter? He's no future all-star, but aside from two bad innings through his first two starts (the 4th inning in his first start, the 1st inning in this game) he's been pretty good. I don't get the Rienzo hate at all. Would you guys like to give Leesman another shot? Or Paulino? Well said. Too often folks here live and DIE off one bad inning, one missed fielding play, one poor at bat or even one pitch. Then again they get fixated in a bad way on a player and that's all you hear about. Rienzo has talent. My guess that in the future we might be liking Leesman too. Paulino maybe?
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 12:48 AM) Flowers with another broken bat hit. He is on a roll with these. Amazing for sure. But, after last year I will take those singles
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 12:48 AM) Flowers with another broken bat hit. He is on a roll with these. Amazing for sure. But, after last year I will take those singles
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 12:47 AM) I think he stands too close to the plate. He has been better the last few games. I like his swing though. When he is on his game it's pretty sweet
  9. I am very happy we didn't trade De Aza just yet
  10. QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 01:41 AM) Elrockin you're Beckham's number 1 fan no doubt. I wear the button proudly but it really reads SOX FAN
  11. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 01:25 AM) Lined out to right center. Must suck being a Sox fan rooting against Sox players. I don't understand it either
  12. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2014 -> 01:10 AM) Just stating a fact. Sorry. You should know that they don't let the facts get in the way of their rants
  13. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 09:39 PM) Huh, why? The obvious answer is "why not?" But maybe it's for speed at the bottom and/or to lewt Gordon see some good pitches
  14. QUOTE (LDF @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 05:33 PM) I am going to be honest here, I was for trading Viciedo before the season started. now I would like to hold on to him and see what is going to happen here. I haven't seen this kind of excitement in a long time for the sox. the turn around as some are saying or questioning start with the smart acquisition that Hahn made. so it starts from him and then dribble down to the players. but the main key is Jose. BTW.... I been wondering how was puig acting when he played on the same team with Jose ? Good points made. I think a lot of folks were nt in favor of Viciedo staying. Alexei is another one. Beckham started to turn things around last year when hurt and I am in favor of seeing what he has to offer with the bat still. We give up pretty quickly sometimes on our talent and at other times rush our young players and not give them time to learn. I bet Jose doesn't speak ill of Puig, even if called for, as he seems to be an real professional
  15. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 05:51 PM) I'm a minimalist. So how tall are you really?
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 06:20 PM) That is pretty awesome. David Kaplan ‏@thekapman 28m Scott Carroll: “My family + I (35 in all) went to dinner at Timothy O’Toole’s to celebrate + Adam Dunn picked up tab. It was so awesome." Great teammate and exceptional person
  17. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) Yeah, yeah, got it. Although, theoretically, if it was postponed to very late in the season, and the game didn't affect either team's playoff chances, they it might literally be cancelled since it wouldn't be made up. Of course you are right
  18. It's a day game at C(omiskey)ell starting at 12:10 PM MDT. I will be there watching on the big screen
  19. There on our turf so let's wrestle that Tiger down
  20. Ken names some players who are contributing to the Sox turnaround in 2014. I can see Dunn being dealt as he really doesn't fit in with the Sox rebuilding, but to trade away your starting SS and 2B guys and a starting pitcher, who is showing success after surgery might not be the best moves. I guess that regardless of personal feelings you need to see what the return is and how that benefits the team long term
