  1. HOPEFULLY it will happen...But with this team, do we ever know who will show up to play and who won't? This team is an enigma, and I won't ever completely figure them out. Here's my fearless prediction...The White Sox will get at least one baserunner in tonight's game against the Tigers. I am predicting a baserunner who scores and we win!!! I am hoping that we don't see any of what I predicted in the original post come true. I just want us to start winning.
  2. I predict the following: If the Sox do not produce over the next 2 weeks (encompassing the 14 game road trip, interleague play and this Tigers series) then Jerry Manuel will be fired. I predict that Miles will be called up, Jimenez will move to shortstop and Valentin to 3rd base replacing Crede. The other possibility is Valentin, Crede, Graffanino and Jiminez all subbing depending on who's pitching and who's hot. A trade will happen if Borchard doesn't produce in CF.
  3. Sorry, but I wouldn't trade Crede. He is the Sox 3rd baseman and can be as good as Melton was in the 70's-80's. I think defensively he is a good now. Also he has the talent to rate up there with Ventura, but needs to mature a bit more. I know the Sox offense and lack of defense is frustrating, but you don't get rid of your young talent with just over 2 months into the season. Maybe Walker can help Crede and some others, but he has only been here a few days.
  4. Since I don't get the Sox except on WGN (not enough games, but that's a different story) and the occasional ESPN game I watch Baseball Tonight. It appears the dudly duo of Harold Reynolds and Bobby Valentine think they have to out do the other in their bantering and jovialness. Of course Peettie Gammons sits there like a bump. The other night Reynolds tried to outdo Valentine by commenting on the Jays-Yankees game and how good the Jays were. He made a statement about the Jays are real and they just came off a series where they SLAUGHTERED THE WHITE SOX. Am I not correct that the Sox took 2 of 3 from Toronto before the Tigers series? These guys need to study up on their baseball before going on the program and inserting foot in mouth. THEY SUCK in their anaysis anyway.
  5. I hope Jose does stay with the Sox, but your right on your analysis of what needs to happen. I think if the Sox fall on their faces again this year we will be seeing new faces next year.

We wouldn't have gotten Colon, if we didn't trade Biddle. Everytime KW made a trade it looked good in the pre-season analsis. I was really shocked about the Baldwin trade to LA though. Started me to wonder if KW knew how to spell or not? I didn't like the Ritchie deal because I thought we gave up way too much talent for a guy with only a limited success history. I guess with Adkins it was take what you could get, or risk losing Durham in the off season to free agency and get nothing. Hated to see Ray-Ray go though. Other than that KW has done alright I think. It has been the players who haven't produced.
  7. Maybe they had a fight. No, but we're gonna have one tonight!!! Heather, please oh please don't hurt him too bad. I love Carlos, er just not in a sexual way.
  8. You want so badly to be positive. We win two in a row against a pretty good Toronto team and even stage a comeback for only the second time this year. However, we then host the worse team in baseball and get FOUR hits!!! The pitcher is 0-9 and we give him his first win just like we gave the Tigers their first win of the season earlier. We find a different way to lose every series and our offense just sputters along. Our call up hero (Borchard) strikes out twice. I want these guys to do good so bad it hurts. Garland picthes a good game from the looks of it and we can't produce a winner for him. I hope Loaiza can be the stopper again on Saturday. Right now it's EL and BC getting the wins and then 3 loses. I am not a math wizard, but I don't think you can win a division championship that way. Even in the AL Central.
  9. I am waiting to see what Borchard can do. One thing I would guess is that Riso isn't going to see playing time in place of Borchard. What does that mean for Rios? The 4th outfielder or involved in a trade. Watching ESPN2 on Monday to see Borchard in Toronto.
  10. Gary Matthews Jr has some talent, but where it is right now is anybody's guess. I say we sign him and send him to AAA and see if he gets on track.
  11. I think the Sox will be missing the boat if we don't try and sign Colon to a long term deal and Loaiza also. Loaiza has shown he is a top notch hurler. I also think that, 2-7 record aside, we should take a certain baseball writers advice and silently and professionally continue talking with Mark Buerhle and his agent about a deal. I have to wonder sometimes about these sports agents. The players put all their trust in thse guys who see a big paycheck and ask for the moon. Well, the moon ain't there anymore as far as big bucks are concerned. I think you will see very few huge multi year billion $$$ contracts in the future. Mark is a great pitcher and would be well worth our effort to keep him in a Sox uniform.
  12. Your right Molto! I forgot that Colon has to sit for five games. Maybe we'll get to see a comeback from MB.
  13. Please accept the fact that I do feel sorry for you. It was only in the last 4-5 years that our cable company dropped a stinking Colorado station for WGN.
  14. Ozzie Guillen was poetry in motion at SS. I can still remember Luis Aparicio on his second go around with the Sox and Ron Hansen. Hansen sure had good hands and was steady in the field for a tall drink of water like he was. Also the Twinkies hated him becasue he always put the hurt on those smirking twinkies.
  15. It looks like ESPN2 will be airing the White Sox game in Toronto at 7 PM EDT on Monday (Memorial Day). Colon is scheduled to pitch I believe. This is for all of us Sox fans who are out of the Chicago area and can't get radio or Chicago TV coverage. I am held hostage to WGN and ESPN and occasionally FSN-NW for games. I am sure it might be worse for others.
  16. CBS Sportsline has Esteban rated just below Mike Mussina as the best pitcher in MLB this season. However, looking at Mike Mussina's record one might argue that Esteban in better. MM is 7-2 and EL in 7-1 and has a better ERA. Esteban Loaiza rules!!!
  17. The umpires are squeezing the Sox pitchers. I think it's a conspiracy. Our guys get called out on pitches like the one Kock threw, but he gets Ball 4
  18. I am going with Paul Konerko again. I think he is on a roll now.
  19. No one person is greater than the team as a whole. If Ken Griffey Jr is available, and I might seriously doubt he is as long as the Reds contend, I think we should make an attempt to get him. As long as they don't think he is of the caliber of a Maggs.
  20. Go easy on us. 75% of the time we are at least half right.
  21. Kenny Lofton is a good player and hustls, but he started out last year with the Sox just like he is doing with the Pirates. In time I think the rigors of a 162 game schedule will tell on Kenny and he will slump again. We don't need to give up a prospect for that prospect.
  22. Yes, Heather Lee, you may. I love Carlos too.... but not in a sexual way... He has really turned up his game, and we that didn't want to see him traded because we knew his talent, can all smile knowingly.
  23. In my humble opinion we are seeing Mark Buerhle as a young pitcher he is, who has bukku talent. He is going through what I think is the first real prolonged stretch of inefectiveness and of course a whole lot of bad luck. It is a challenge and a learning experience all at the same time. When he comes out of this, and he will, Buerhle will be even better then he was before. Many, many good pitchers have gone through this in the beginning of their careers. I think Mark will be there and finish with at least 15 wins. Colon on the other hand is a horse and has the experience. He is a great pitcher now. Mark can learn from Colon and hopefully he is paying attention. Patience, oh great Sox fans, we will see a turnaround.
  24. It's another typical BS decision from MLB offices. But, then again look who's running the outfit. I am not paranoid or anything, but their all out to get the Sox.
