  1. We can't run and we can't field. I have seen too many lackadaisical fielding plays by Jimenez. Rios misses the cut off man. Both miscues cost us a run. Hunter steals a homer from Carlos. Great play but why against us? Then to watch the smirks on the Twinkies faces just ticks me off to no end. Three hits in a row for us and we score one run and leave the bases loaded!!! We can't go from 1st to third on anything. What they heh is going on here? Today it is EL and I just hope we can count on him again to step up. The guy has been the only good solid news we can count on, but it's time for the others to step up. At least Jon Garland looked better and maybe can put together two good games in a row. All right let's win a game against these stinking smirking twins for a change!! Go Sox!!
  2. We can't do anything the Twins can do. We have no speed and no defense. We give up unearned runs (2 on Sat) and have an absolute great play to take a homer away from us. We hang around waiting for the 10 run homer that just ain't going to happen. At least Garland pitched better. I hate those twinkies.
  3. Does anyone have some insight on WH injury? I didn't get last nights game so don't know if it's serious or not. Injured list possible with someone being called up? I figured from what I read he will be sitting tonight at the very least so I am taking Rios as my pick to click.
  4. Tough one. I think I had Konerko last night and he didn't start. I think it's Rios tonight. My pick is Rios

It's difficult to be positive about Buerhle after losing his last 6 games, but the guy has been super over the last two years and has pitched a few good games this year. He won't say he is hurt so I have to guess mechanics and losing his confidence after some horrendous beatings. He is young and basically came out of nowhere so now it's back to reality. Let's hope he and Cooper can figure out what's wrong. I tell you when Mark B is on his game it is an absolute thing of beauty. I think he can turn it around and this streak will make him a better pitcher.
  6. I said it in a different post, but 18 runs in one game is still just 18 runs in ONE game. Saturday is a new game and as the fake sun rises inside the fake metrodome we will beat the fake twins. I think Jon Garland can step it up and this is his time.
  7. After getting over the shell shock of a beating such as Friday night's we need to remember that the Twins scored 18 runs, but it was only one game and they can't put any of those runs in the bank for Saturday. Saturday is a new game and the task for the Sox is to come out with some pride and play like we know they can. I also think Garland can win. He has got to see the efforts of Loaiza, Colon and Wright and know this is his time to step up. Jon has got to show some fire tonight. I will be watching on WGN.
  8. A trade for a first rate CF'er is what we need that's for sure. But, the trade makes less sense in happening with the Cards injury situation. Garland for Drew straight up would probably be a good trade for both sides. Neither has hit their expected level yet, but both are young and have great potential. We will never get a pitcher in return from the Cards because they are in desperate need of a starter and a reliever. I would think the Cards will really like a guy like Garland and a pitcher who might be able to relieve such as Porzio, who I think had some interest shown by other teasm in spring training. Who would we get from the Cards as their throw in? My bet is it won't happen as much as we might like it a lot.
  9. There is nothing that I hate worse than losing to the freaking twinkies. I have hated them since I was just a little league star. But to get beat 18-3 is disgraceful even for this bunch of mouths. What the heck is wrong with Buerhle? Is this the season where the finese guy comes out of the closet? Can he turn it around? He had better or maybe St Louis does want him.
  10. I think we started coming out of this hiting rut on the Westcoast. We saw an up game and a down game, which showed to me they were starting to get going with the lumber. The Orioles have a pretty good staff considering we wanted Daal at one time and we have heard about Ponson. I think the pitching has stepped up and the hitters are ready to bust open. All of this bodes well for us as we move into Minnesota tonight. I think we are ready to rock 'n roll.
  11. Colon has stepped up the last two games and shows why he is the MAN!! EL HOMBRE! The pitching staff was simply fanatastic and I think it will pump up everyone. Buerhle is going to be great tonight in Minnesota and you can put it on the board.
  12. I am going with Paul Konerko tonight in Twinkieville.
  13. I am of the opinion also that Rowand is a great 4th guy in the OF, but since we won't be doing any trades for a CF I think if he shows he can hit then Harris down and Rowand up and in the field.
  14. I don't think they would mess with the rotation this early so I think Colon is going. The question is who pitches on Saturday night? My 18 month old grand daughter will be over and she and I will watch the game on WGN. She wears my Sox hat around the house. The kind is showing signs of being a genius.
  15. I am in a real quandry here. On one hand I was going to say let the Twins win, but I hate the Twinkies with a passion. On the other hand I want the Royals to keep losing too. We need to kick the Twins behind this weekend and everything will fall into place.
  16. Jose Valentin tonight. I am bummed I can't take the Big Hurt for another (3rd) game. But Jose is going to click on 5-15.
  17. I have always been a Big Hurt supporter. When he is on his game he is sweeet with that lumber. I think the Hurt is mad as hell and ain't going to take it anymore. Pitchers beware.
  18. Biddle wasn't going to fit in anywhere in the Sox pitching staff. We have several long reliefor spot starter candidates. It was a good trade for us and it gave Rocky a chance. He's got 10 saves and Foulke has 11, but I think Koch will step up now.
  19. Report was that the Cardinals have told Finley they need a relief pitcher and won't be attempting to sign him. Do we need another starter with experience while our youngsters have more time to work out their problems in AAA? If we were to sign Finley it might make someone expendable in the bullpen or other position for a trade.
  20. It looks like CF is our main problem right now. Although a lot of people rip Jimenez. He does run like his head is up a certain part of his anatomy that stinks the place up bad. Sometimes his fielding is shaky, but I think he can do it. If not bring up Miles. I question a trade for a CF. If we do that what about Borchard? If he goes to left then what happens to CLee? I am thinking Rowand might be back up soon if Harris doesn't start hitting. Does he even have a steal yet? He has a few singles and that's it. Don't know how much longer we can wait for him to prove he belongs right now? Rowand got three hits the other night for Charlotte.
  21. Billy Koch throwinbg at 97 MPH and then breaking off a curve! Thing of beauty. If he does it two games in a row I think he may be back on track.
  22. When you see what Loaiza is doing it tells me there is hope for pitchers like Garland and Wright if they would only listen to their pitching coach and concentrate during the game on applying the advice. EL has been helped tremendously by Cooper and his talent in now on display. Sign the guy for an extension is what I say.
  23. I'm going with the Big Hurt again Frank Thomas
  24. It is getting late to be making a "change" announcement. I could be wrong, but a clearing of the air seems more appropriate. A clubhouse meeting everyone was saying they didn't need.
  25. Montana here! Never saw this many users on the SoxNet at one time. Waiting for word.
