  1. The Mustang went to hell when they started selling 'em to secretaries. It was and should have stayed, a man's muscle car. Not some underpowered, teeny bopper, looks good on the outside, no guts on the inside, toy.
  2. You have to figure that those HR pitches that Konerko got were meant for Maggs and Frank. His numbers would have dropped as the situation changed. Still you are correct, we'd be watching the pennant races more closely if those men were still in the lineup.
  3. Thank you. I haven't been back to Chicago since I retired in 1979, but I can see that the people haven't changed much. And that's good. I met a guy a month ago who was wearing a Sox cap and he told me about this place. I couldn't figure it out so my grandkids needed to show me how to find it. If I can say one thing, I learned about baseball and life, is do not sweat the small stuff. I see more long comments about nothing and short ones about something. Eventually everyone discovers what's important. What pains me about these so called debates is all we will hear are two candidates repeating the same stump speeches they've been making for a year. Then some person will tell us what to think and what the candidate really meant. I don't need someone to explain a man to me. I can look at him and judge for myself. Don't tell me what something means. Hell, that's why I stopped going to Church.
  4. There was a time when the President actually received some respect. There was even a time when losing candidates received some respect. When I was teaching school kids would have their mouths washed out with soap for less than what passes for entertainment today. Shamefull. However, Bush does look like a chimp, doesn't he he he.
  5. TV has ruined politics. That and the public's desire to know a person's greatest sins, not their greatest accomplishments. When the office of President of the United States is determined, in part, by how the candidate looks on tv, and which camera covers them, we are in a heap of trouble. No longer is it enough to judge the quality of a man's vision, we must know his sexual histrionics?! I do not want to get on a soap box but TV is killing our country.
  6. Maybe this time they'll make it. Seems like Baltimore's complaints are at least real enough for MLB to sell their souls. I thought there were better markets. Maybe this was to keep the anti-trust exemptions in place.
  7. Of all that have been guessed these are pretty good. But the real winner is someone that no one will remember because if he was remembered, he couldn't have been that underated. Along the same lines, the most under-expected was Fisk. According to management he was on his last knees as a catcher, yet went for years after that.
