http://gizmodo.com/windows-8-1-review-litt...renc-1446625571 http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/17/4845142...dows-8-1-review http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2411451,00.asp I found this especially interesting/convincing: Comparing speeds on Windows 7 vs Windows 8 Boot-up is twice as fast, beats W7 in everything except for a tiny bit in large file movement, which they found after the fact is slightly slower because it now automatically performs a malware scan when you do this

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 12:31 PM) The price is what caught my eye. I figured a 7" tablet isn't much bigger than many phones these days. We asked her about the Ipod and she wasn't thrilled with using itunes. It depends whether she prioritizes portability (putting it in her pocket and walking around with it) or face-to-face use (sitting down and browsing the internet or whatever). A 7" tablet is quite portable in the sense that you can fit it in some purses, stick it in your back pocket (don't sit!!!!), and it is generally going to be very light. I'd say that you wouldn't want that to be something you're going to be active with, though. As far as non-phone, non-Apple mp3 players that can do a bit more than play mp3's, I have no clue what that market is like. No more Zune, lol!

The reason I like having Thibs around for whatever period of time we're retooling is that I think he is a guy that will legitimately make young players and others better. The kids we draft, people picked up off the scrap heap, etc. should become better basketball players by playing for Thibs.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 25, 2013 -> 10:57 AM) If you trade Deng, Boozer and Hinrich this team will be really bad. Hinrich isn't even a good player but Teague is so awful that playing him 35 minutes a game is worth several losses. Plus, Noah and Butler are both locks to miss a bunch of time so you are going to have a joke of a roster. I'm sure the Bulls can give Hinrich away for a 2nd round pick and hopefully they can find deals for Deng and Boozer. I agree. What I'm saying is that GarPax have to try to get maximum value for these guys. There may not be that many teams, 10 games into the season, that want to work out some deals with us. How many games will we win in the meantime? Perhaps too many to get the kind of pick we want.

I like Windows 8.1 and for the most part, I was entirely acclimated after a day or two. There's some sharpening to do, but it is not in a place where I would intentionally buy an older OS to avoid it
-
You can tank, but you first have to get rid of your star players and you have to do it quickly
-
I would take a really s***ty contract to get me a really good player/pick, but not for Noah. More of a Deng move

Roughly the veteran's minimum in LA

We're not done with the 3rd quarter and CP3 has 16 points, 16 assists QUOTE (chw42 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 04:12 PM) He should, honestly. This team isn't getting anywhere with him if he's not back to MVP Derrick Rose. Might as well make things unambiguous so you can trade away Deng, Noah, or whoever else and people know why you're doing it. Of course, if Derrick/his doctors think he should come back in the last month of the season as part of his rehab, there's no reason to stop him from doing that.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 03:23 PM) Then what about QB? I mean, Josh McCown as your opening day starter in 2014? You draft someone and groom them? Im not against that idea, and you cant do it with Cutler on the roster, but youre basically saying "give us a year" to a fanbase that cant wait 10 minutes. Plus by the time the kid is ready Forte and Marshall will be old, so yoy'll need a new RB and a new high end receiver. I dont know what I'd do if I were Emery and Trestman, but like I said I'm on board with whatevet their plan is. Yeah, if you keep McCown then you're drafting a QB. You keep McCown because you can see that he will play well enough that your offense is still going to be very good. Then you're entrusting GM/coach to make the next QB good ASAP

The Bushrod signing is going to be one that we regret

No time for the short passing bulls***

Give me a break there's no way that is a fumble

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 03:18 PM) On second thought, these guys made the worst OL in football suddenly pretty decent. So who knows, I trust them. It may not happen quickly, but it's the only way to go about things. Have to focus on the defense. Continuing to try to fix this o line should be a secondary focus, but there isn't much else to do as far as working on the offense.
-
QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 03:15 PM) Theres no fix to the D that wont take years. Either go all out offense and just get into scoreboard wars or enjoy a few years in the cellar. I like Trestman a lot, like a lot a lot, so I'd like to see them stay competitive so he keeps his job. Making the defense average doesn't need to take long at all. Young players improve, bring in a big name vet or two, draft a good player or two, fill in with solid cheap vets. A few strategic acquisitions is all you need for an offense this good. You have to have some money for it, though
-
Both interior d-linemen have been very bad, but especially the non-Wootton position. If you can get Ratliff on the field with Wottoon, you're looking at two players that will at least be worth blocking
-
I hate this team. Should note that fair refereeing might have yielded us a win here though
-
I'm ready for Ratliff
-
This game is the embodiment of why you might need to let Cutler go. The offense with McCown and all this talent will score enough, but no offense can score enough to deal with this defense
-
That one is more understandable IMO because live it looked like an obvious helmet leading to the other player's helmet/neck area
-
Now we're finally even for the touchdown the refs stole from us
-
When I saw it live it looked like he clearly led with his head

Helmet to helmet hit, has to be

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 01:27 PM) Rose having surgery tomorrow. Opting for repair - best case is a 4 month recovery. I'm guessing he's done for the season. I can't find a source on the latter part (details on the surgery)
