  1. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:42 PM) My guess and I hope I'm very wrong is Iglesias, Middlebrooks, Ranaudo. That really isn't bad
  2. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:39 PM) Haha thanks Jake. Deal been in place for a while now, FYI. detailsssssss
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:34 PM) Last call on predicted trade package? I'll drive Peavy to the airport if it's Bradley, Iglesias, Renaudo
  4. Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 32s The White Sox and Red Sox are reviewing medical records on a possible Jake Peavy deal.
  5. QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) Not sure how reliable this guy is: Jason A. Churchill ‏@ProspectInsider 2m Sure sounds like there's a good chance Jake Peavy will land in Boston for Bradley, Jr., Iglesias and Ranaudo, or something of the sort... let me just clean off my underwear now....
  6. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:27 PM) Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN 34s The Red Sox and White Sox have been talking about Jake Peavy, and sources say it's got legs. Expand Olney just found bucket's post from a week ago

Hey! I played with Tony Zych once!
  8. QUOTE (Cerbaho-WG @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:55 PM) And not really a good haul for Lee. With how big his salary is, I can't believe he could command much at all. $25 million per for that many years is just a huge commitment/risk

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:46 PM) What exactly are you saying?? Are you already giving up on him because of a little slump?? I don't think that's what he was saying. He was just saying that his high strikeout rate and lack of extra base hits foretold his numbers eventually sinking
  10. QUOTE (Frank_Thomas35 @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:52 PM) Iglesias, Bradley Jr., Ranuado + for Lee and Young is my guess That is a f***ton of salary going to the Red Sox
  11. Nobody benches a position player unless he is getting traded. You don't do it in anticipation of maybe a trade. We don't seem to be particularly close to moving him anyway
  12. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:47 PM) I asked Dan Hayes why Rios was playing today...because they still need to showcase him he told me even though all those teams have been following him for 3+ weeks Of course Rios would play today. Don't be silly. He's an everyday player, he's going to play every day.
  13. Lindstrom is clearly doing this on purpose!!!
  14. Who cares about whether Rienzo gets a win. I can't believe baseball players actually think about that stuff anymore
  15. Because everyone knows that Veal has a much better chance getting a lefty out, regardless of what 13 innings of splits say. Jesus, have some common sense
  16. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:41 PM) The "haul" from the Angels will be B and C prospects. That's what Kennedy is worth. Also note that Angels farm is not strong. The haul from Arizona will be reduced by the value they lost because they lost Kennedy. Maybe they send us only 1 top prospect and the rest of the return will be from the Angels, but I'll believe it when I see it, because the net result of this is that we are paying no money, which also would mean lesser prospects. I don't think the Kennedy trade affects the total value going to us other than it enables the trade to happen in the first place. I do assume that these lesser prospect(s) from Angels will go to us though
  17. Phil Rogers ‏@ChiTribRogers 2m Reports of 3-tm White Sox-AZ-LAA trade are intriguing. Diamondbacks' Adam Eaton, Angels' Peter Bourjos among good targets for Rick Hahn. If the D'Backs/Sox could turn Ian Kennedy into Peter Bourjos, that would be highway robbery
  18. Semien 3-3, 2B, HR unreal
  19. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 08:28 PM) But he won't bring the value of prospects we want. And then Arizona is unlikely to send us the prospects we want, because their cost is reduced by the value of Kennedy. So this three way trade sounds like we'll get mediocre prospects from the Angels and Arizona. I'm not following your logic at all. 1. Moving Kennedy frees up the money to get Peavy 2. We weren't going to allow Kennedy to make up any part of the deal except a throw-in. 3. They knew he had value that is higher than zero. 4. They bring in Angels who will give them this greater than zero value. 5. Since it is a three-way trade, they are apparently going to send all or part of the haul from the Angels to us 6. We also get what we wanted in the first place (Owings, Davidson, Holmberg, whomever)
  20. Bowden also later added that Cards were unwilling to consider CMart or Wacha
