They spent several minutes talking about how a throw to second would have allowed Bourn to score. The entire defense set up to have throw cut to home because Bourn could have given it a go.

I really doubt Texas is/was serious about this. They want to get better at hitting. They'd just take Rios or Dunn. If money was a factor, they'd go for De Aza Why try to get one of the worst hitters on the worst offense in baseball?
