Almost anyone who goes in the late first round is going to have some teams that believe they're really more like third rounders. Heck, even guys that go higher will have that, especially QBs

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2013 -> 10:51 AM) By the way, the DA in the Australian murder case has declined to seek hate crime charges. The reason given in his statement to the Press? Well, they couldn't prove that the killing was racially motivated. Mostly because the 3 people in custody consist of 1 African American, 1 Caucasian, and 1 half-African/half Caucasian. A good friend of mine lived in Australia for a while and was shocked with the racial issues they have there. He said many folks believe they are very progressive on race issues but that's because they think of the USA's race relations in 1950s/1960s terms. He was shocked with how open many random people would be in making racist statements and the like

QUOTE (BamaDoc @ Aug 23, 2013 -> 10:51 PM) Andy Wilkins at third base? He played there earlier in his career and it was generally reviewed as really, really bad. They were saying that he's just recently gotten to the point where he's an average defender at 1B

Screw it, pitch him again

I've never been a big fan of Choo

Losing the camera app and beats audio make me hesitant to put GE on my One. At some point, when I decide rooting and such is worth it, I'd probably go with MoDaCo switch.

The beauty of young players is that the expectation is non-success. If they are unsuccessful, they are simply meeting expectations. If they do well, they are exceeding. It is difficult for an 18 year old to play below expectations.

20 reasons Jeff Francouer is the best player in baseball history

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) He can play both. He's got good speed maybe faster than AviGar and a great arm and has played some CF. Leury is much, much faster than Avi. Elite of the elite speed

Duke's view of racism is very narrow. What is different about what you're saying than it would have been in 1970? How have the solutions changed? You only think it can't be improved because it has relatively improved since the Civil Rights era and it is therefore difficult to fathom even more progress. The nice thing is that many solutions are in progress and it is called father time. Racists are dying. It is easier for children to come into the world and not become racist than to make old racists change their views.

If there is to be an amended version of what a natural-born citizen is, it will make Ted Cruz a non-citizen. He was born in Canada to a family that had no immediate intentions of returning to the USA. I had no idea you could be considered "natural-born" in that case. He's natural-born by blood only, which is kind of funny.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 22, 2013 -> 11:33 AM) The irony is that in early 1992 Bill Clinton wasn't a viable option either. And Hillary saved his campaign, in many ways. Folks should learn about her relationship with Bill. Hillary has always intended to be President, has always been qualified for it, was more qualified than her husband, and since the relationship's infancy they were more like political partners than romantic ones. They always had the goal of mutually enriching their political careers. I have worked with academia's leading Clinton historian (it's funny how precise these things can be) so I have lots of fun nuggets about those two. Anyways, Hillary is statistically the most popular politician in America.

lol that was an absolutely absurd situation in SD I think that man was actually deluded enough that he didn't think the things he did were inappropriate

BHB is one of the sweetest beers I've ever had. Better than macros for me, but yeah isn't anything to write home about. He's been promoting a new variety, MVP edition or something. Also, that is an excellent O-face

Great -- you never know for sure about any baseball player under any circumstances. But, the odds are pretty good with ol' Avi

I don't understand how you fail to see how betting on games you're playing in is extremely problematic and compromises the integrity of everything that happens during those and all other games
-
There is no way to assume that betting on games he played in didn't affect the way he played in those games.

I like watching the Sox win

I don't really care about the Red Sox because we got a better player in return than we ever seriously thought we'd get. I'm happy for the Tigers to have been fleeced.

Who Makes It Back to the post-season first, Sox/Cubs?
Jake replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sox. We're not only closer now with excellent pitching (including depth) and a few young pieces on offense, but our front office has actually shown a willingness to win. Theo will probably hand out a bad contract to an offensive player this offseason but never actually make moves that make them a winning club. -
lol, they say that like all three of those things are the same and as if all of them are related to the murder

Also, Granderson has been really bad in CF for a while

It would be a bad idea to do anything but Viciedo-ADA-Garcia

He won't be Ditka, but when I think of 2005 I think of him fondly. I don't think of him fondly in the present, though I've been softening on that lately. I think he got a rough taste of reality on his way out of Miami.
