  1. For the record, Orton does NOT have a bad arm. Anyone who watches closely or has seen him play in college or even been to a practice while he's been on the Bears or Boilermakers would know this. Until his rookie season, he had always been known to the masses as a strong armed quarterback. Rex has a special kind of arm between his ability to throw it deep and hit the out on a line and with accuracy and in those raw respects he exceeds Orton. However, Orton has a rather strong arm. I think people must think he doesn't because of the tentativeness he threw with in his rookie season and his refusal to go to downfield options in that same season. In terms of raw ability, however, if you were gunning Rex's and Kyle's throws with a radar and had them throw as far as they could, they would not be far apart.
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 02:52 PM) Longoria is a much better defensive player than Alexei dude. I think Alexei may become a better defender, and it is difficult to compare 3rd basemen to 2nd basemen.
  3. QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 02:22 PM) Carlos Quentin is single handidly kicking the s*** out of pussification I love this statement.
  4. QUOTE (shipps @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 09:54 AM) The only way to get rid of a habit is to replace it with another habit. That is fact.So watch more porn or something. The commonly gained habit is eating.
  5. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Aug 26, 2008 -> 03:30 PM) Yeah I just always skipped the catch all thread, sometimes before I forgot, other times because it was a completely random thread. I would rather just skip over random threads in PHT that don't apply to me.
  6. I never looked at the catch-all thread. Too long and I always read threads based on something catchy in the thread title, that obviously is missed with the Catch-all.
  7. Time to keep the streak alive! I'm 5-1 all time in game threads I believe and would like to keep improving.
  8. What is Oz's email again?
  9. I like that Swish gets on base, but I hate the fact that he can't hit the damn ball. I would gladly have him trade some on base percentage for some batting average.
  10. Good to see Clayton come back strong after the first batter.
  11. They showed Clayton on the top step of the dugout.
  12. I'm surprised it turned out this way too, I figured he wouldn't make the list.
  13. Well Horacio has a good opportunity today to show that he is to be trusted as big time reliever for us.
  14. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Aug 25, 2008 -> 03:57 PM) Damn, I thought Richard was "starting" this game. Have we heard who will be? Clayton will start the regularly scheduled game.
  15. Two young, streaky, lefty pitchers with limited ML experience to go after each other immediately following the tiebreaker game. Pressure may be on Clayton to save some pen arms depending on how deep we go in the tiebreaker, we'll be at least one reliever short, possibly more. If only I could see WCIU games!
  16. Should I make the game 2 game thread or wait till this one's over? Or perhaps create the thread and lock it until game 1 is finished.
  17. I only allow this game thread to exist because the game started. I definitely have dibs on game 2 to keep my streak alive.
  18. Can somebody explain to me what happened or link a video? I was unable to watch the game.
  19. Tampa is a very good team and on a very hot streak. We're a very good team that isn't necessarily on a hot streak, so we're at the disadvantage. I'd just like to see us get hot.
  20. Do you even need to say Eldred hit a bomb or can it just be assumed?
  21. I won't be able to watch because I am playing baseball so I decided making the game thread would be my penance. Hopefully I'll be able to make several more before the next poster has to take the reins.
  22. I have a Quentin authentic on the way. When it's cold I wore my 1983 Sox hoodie and Sox stocking cap.
  23. QUOTE (Steff @ Aug 23, 2008 -> 10:44 AM) I agree with no to a politician also, but I also say no to MJ. Someone without dirty laundry to dig up would be a wiser choice. Today a member of either the Sox or Cubs would do. And for 2016 I'm sure Carlos Quentin, on his 8th ring and a member of the 2015 World Champ White Sox will be worthy. Fixed.
