  1. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 01:05 PM) His stuff is simply too good not to succeed. That's what they say about Javier Vazquez.
  2. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) Yeah they're getting a lot of clutch hitting late, which is really saving them quite a bit right now. But we had the same type of thing happen last season, and we're renowned for it. They'll be hard to catch, but I think it's still definitely possible. Yeah, last year Cleveland made up 17 games on us, all we have to do is make up 9 to win.
  3. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 09:55 AM) For the bold part, I think Mackowiak should flat out take Pods' job. That way, there would still be a platoon of Mackowiak and Ozuna, and we'd have a better hitter against RHP in Rob. I've been preaching about and hoping for this for a while, though, and it just ain't happening. I really don't think Mackowiak will be successful as an everyday player. I think Scotty is better offensively and defensively. If we were to make a change in LF, I would want it to be a Ryan Sweeney-type, someone who actually has some upside and is better defensively.
  4. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 5, 2006 -> 02:53 AM) Lol, the Article says "Kansas City Royals" for the Jays lineup, but it is definately not the Royals lineup. FWIW, the Royals have outscored the Sox and Jays since the ASB.
  5. QUOTE(jparkman @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 11:16 PM) 2. use matt thornton a little less in close games. I feel the exact opposite way about him. I actually wouldn't mind seeing him close out some ballgames. He had one bad night the other night, but he is in the upper echelon in set-up men. As is MacDougal, when healthy. We have 3 legitimate closers on this team, and if Bobby continues to struggle we have two good options.
  6. QUOTE(dasox24 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:48 PM) I think you're refering to Josh Rupe. I'm pretty sure he hasn't done anything great since leaving the org., so I wouldn't worry about him. He's just been so-so. Edit: Well, upon further review, it looks like he's had a few good games out of the 'pen this season in AAA and pitched 2 scoreless innings for the Rangers, but that's about it. Don't expect to see too much. Plus, he'll be 25 in 2 weeks and has just made it to the bigs. Not much potential. There really isn't that big of a problem with debuting when you're 25. People these days act like someone might as well be 30 years old if they're 25.
  7. QUOTE(zaw @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:31 PM) yaa.. ha ha ha (sorry guys; this guy is BETTER than what we have (I've seen him pitch) lmao (god dear god its good lol). what in the gosh darn are you talking about?
  8. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:42 PM) Nah my boy is DeJesus. And I'm actually serious. He's my favorite player to watch on KC. Jake, now you can say my boy blew it.. Well I am always right.
  9. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:36 PM) I'll say this. They pinch-hit Berroa for Costa (Shane Costa can flat out hit) so there's a good chance but won't hold my breath cause this IS KC. Your boy blew it.
  10. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:35 PM) thats the spirit!! beautiful! bunt by buck with 2 strikes, 1 out man on second for KC. odds? odds are pretty decent, they really don't have a bad offense.
  11. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 02:28 PM) Why do I feel like I am stuck in a TBS commerical?
  12. Well then gosh darn it. KC with man on and no outs. Let's take this KC! EDIT : lmao filters.
  13. I haven't heard anything about it, but I can't imagine they'll ever find a stat that is an accurate measure of someone's defensive abilities.
  14. QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:27 PM) You probably didn't watch, but Dmitri Young had 3( should have been 4 errors), and even though the runs ended up being earned, without those errors he would have been out of many innings. Explain to me how the errors cost him runs if they were all earned. If every error was scored as an error then if it cost him runs it would be accounted for.
  15. 5-5 going to bottom of 9, Burgos gets himself out of more trouble by striking out last three batters he faces.
  16. QUOTE(Bonderman38 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 08:39 PM) WIthout that odd inning in Minnesota Bonderman's would not be that high.. ANyhow, I am not worried. Take Rogers out and it is near the Sox's. The 5 ER today weren't too kind to his ERA either.
  17. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:12 PM) Well KC is gonna give everything they got to lose this game, mauer goes deep first batter of 9th, 5-4.. Thank god they scrapped in an insurance run in the top of 9th HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHA back to back, tie game Can't we post about the Twins in another thread, or the Diamond Club?
  18. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 09:00 PM) How old is Logan Williamson in Great Falls? He seems to be doing pretty good but I dont know how old he is if it really matters... Logan Williamson is 21 years old, and has been pitching in Kanny with a 5.02 in 13 relief appearances.
  19. Ring turned out to be a not too terrible player. He could be a reliever somewhere, although he probably wasn't worth a 1st round pick.
  20. We are lucky because we have control of their destiny for 10 of their games this year. Play even with them the rest of the time and beat them all 10 and we win. Or outplay them by 4-6 games and beat them about 6-8 times works too.
  21. Posted this in the Diamond Club, but on second thought, thought it might deserve it's own thread. Detroit Starters ERA Post-ASB - Nate Robertson - 5.88 Jeremy Bonderman - 4.56 Justin Verlander - 1.82 Kenny Rogers - 10.34 Zach Miner - 7.36 Combined - 5.64 Combined w/o Verlander - 6.70 White Sox Starters Post-ASB ERA's - Contreras - 4.18 Garland - 3.42 Buehrle - 8.86 Garcia - 4.73 Vazquez - 7.79 Combined - 5.49 This looks pretty good for the Sox considering our guys have been looking better as of late. We don't need stats to know our offense is better than theirs. So here is our glimmer of hope. (These #'s do include today's games.)
