  1. Glad to see another Detroit starter get shelled tonight.
  2. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 4, 2006 -> 02:54 PM) Which is pretty much what he said at this time last year about Chris Young and Gio Gonzalez. Just because teams are asking for a player doesn't mean they are offering fair market value for him. With the way KW likes to sweeten the pot with prospects, you've gotta figure that he wasn't being offered enough in return. Or in other words, there wasn't a market for fields. I feel the same way.
  3. QUOTE(brijames @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) Jays lost their season high 5th in a row today. Not a good sign for this weekend. Look for a Blue Jay sweep and a death blow to any remaining chance of a Central title for the Sox. Glad to see we're optimistic. Why even come here if that's all you wanna say? If you really think we're gonna lose, find another hobby.
  4. I think it's at least in part personal choice. He's spoken to the media about the decision, and in clutch situations I've seen him in the low to mid 90's.
  5. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 3, 2006 -> 12:46 PM) Thats what happens when every game 3 is a sunday line-up. sucks Maybe it's time to call it the game 3 lineup.

    QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:25 PM) I'll kill you. No Mr. Milkman, don't kill me. Can I call you Mr. Milkman, sir? Whatever you want me to do I'll do it, master.

    QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:23 PM) That a compliment or no? I'm just kidding around, you're a good poster.

    Joe Crede

    QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:18 PM) Well, he had a better season last year than any before that, and now he has Thome in the lineup. That helps. Milkman, ever since you got rid of the Milkman avvie, you seemed to have gotten a new attitude. You seem to have such strong opinions now, but when you had good ol' Herbert in your avvie you just seemed like a good, reliable, unintimidating guy. Now I cower in fear at the sight of your posts.

    QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:17 PM) Then why didn't he do this last season? Good point.

    Joe Crede

    QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:16 PM) I just think that put together he is most consistant, has good speed, good defensively, and he can hit for a respectable avg. and pretty good power to both fields. It seems he'd better fit the bill a few years ago. He doesn't have many weaknesses, but doesn't excel at much either.
  11. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:14 PM) I love that thing...

    QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:12 PM) 1. Iguchi 2. Crede 3. Kong 4. Dye I don't know about Iguchi in front of those names. Maybe after those four and AJ. His defense is only solid, and his offense while quite adequate is nothing amazing.

    Joe Crede

    QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 03:05 PM) Last offseason, one of the three biggest priorties I thought the Sox should have was signing Joe Crede to a contract through his remaining arbitration years plus an additional year. With some uncertainty remaining over his back and having not yet had a monster year at the plate, it seemed to me that, despite having Scott Boras as his agent, that he would have come at a considerable discount off his true abilities. The Sox accomplished the other priorities (resigning Contreras and Garland, our two best starters at the moment), but didn't even approach Crede with an offer. Now I think Crede is proving all the doubters wrong by having the kind of monster offensive year he always should have had. I expect him to get better. The main thing that still holds him back offensively is that he is terrible at taking a walk. (Among ML 3Bs, he is 3rd in slugging, 3rd in HRs, and 4th in RBI, with the second fewest K's.) Anyway, in honor of his great performance yesterday, I thought I would ask where people rank him among the Sox position players. Please consider all phases of the game -- offense and defense -- when ranking him. This would be my ranking of our position players: 1. Dye 2. Thome 3. Konerko 4. Crede And I think within 2 years and certainly 3 years, Crede may well be equal to or ahead of all of three of those guys as they begin to decline with age. This guy is critical to the success of the White Sox. My list is a little like this - 1. Pablo 2. Dye 3. Kong 4. Crede 5. Thome (I'm valuing Crede's defense pretty highly.)
  14. You didn't need to make a thread for me to know that Javier Vazquez pissed himself.
  15. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 02:17 PM) I call MacDougal "Doogy".
  16. QUOTE(Felix @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:16 PM) They are basically twins, separated at birth. I know, thats not what this thread is about, but I had to say it. They look incredibly similar. If only BMac's fastball looked like Mighty Mac's.
  17. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:13 PM) BMAC has alot of elbow strain, but does come over the top which isnt as bad. BMac could really benefit from a stronger, thicker core. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 2, 2006 -> 01:14 PM) Haha, MacDougal. It's been spelled wrong in about 10 different ways on this site. Also, we need nicknames for both of them. Mac doesn't cut it anymore. Mighty Mac!
  18. QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:35 PM) AWESOME GAME! I am so pysched for tomorrow. LETS GET READY FREDDY! Looking at your avvie I see you're a John Goodman fan. oh oh that's you?

    QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:33 PM) Maybe Coop can work with him in Spring Training COOP WILL FIX IT!! AND KRIS HONEL TOO /green
  20. QUOTE(SoxRock05 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 11:14 PM) Still 7 1/2 back. Lets sweep these Royal b****es. (then pepare for a very long streak of games - 24 to be exact). Wait, what else is there besides games?
  21. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:14 AM) Thanks! Where can I find other extensions like this? With useful links and such.
  22. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 04:11 PM) = ? So many have to learn that cruel, cruel lesson.
  23. QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) Crede is moot. He has already stated, in the press, that he will fire Boras if he screws with him staying with the Sox. Not years, the past 3 weeks. Steff can you give me a link to that statement? Not that I'm doubting your honesty I just can't prove to my dad that he said that with a post on a message board. Many thanks.
  24. QUOTE(Wanne @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 04:47 PM) A top prospect...and a pretty decent arm out of the pen...and a servicable...albiet fragile starter. By far...KDub's CRAPPIEST move to date. We'll be eating our share of crow next year when he's pitching like Jose Contreras did after a year of Cooper in his ear. Hopefully.
  25. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:47 PM) What about Topic: Mod suggestions... Suubtitle: SoxFan1 LMFAO. BURNED. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Aug 1, 2006 -> 09:50 PM) I think Freddy's more likely to give up 15 runs than to fan 15 but lets hope he can keep us in the game. Nuke, did you get my PM?
