  1. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jun 29, 2005 -> 09:53 PM) BMAC had a nice outing tonight but...........YOU'RE STILL f***ED. HAHAHA hahaha
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 28, 2005 -> 10:20 AM) That is the only paragraph that matters in here. Its the only reason baseball got off of their collective asses about drug testing... they were afraid if Congress got involved they could lose their antitrust exemptions, which right now are causing more harm than good IMO. Sorry to sound retarded, but anti-trust exemptions?
  3. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) i hated the play just as much as you. But if one of our guys had done it, we would have loved him for it. He plays hard, he plays to win, he added the fire to his team that made them winners. In that case though, there was no need for it...he was standing away from the plate and didn't have the ball.
  4. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 26, 2005 -> 12:31 PM) His stuff has always looked medicore at best up until this year. His sinker had very little bite on it at all. This year his command and movement on pitches has been 180 from years past. I am afraid that he is gonna have a career year and get paid a kings ransom ( last year of arb and they will lock him up if he has a good career) and he will go back to his mediocore self. It happens all the time around baseball... i don't see why it can't happen to us. Garland has always had some of the best stuff on the staff. His command was rarely stellar, but his main problem was someone would hit off him and then he'd start nit-picking, trying to hit a corner instead of pounding the zone. The biggest difference IMO this year is that AJ has him throwing inside, something he rarely did in the past. I think this is no fluke, because most of what has changed was between the ears.
  5. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) I got a better one for em: The Sox went up to the dome to take on the Twins at their home They took 2 of 3 emerged with a lead and haven't since let go How's that for pulling something out of your ass? YESSS!
  6. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 25, 2005 -> 08:38 AM) Offensively, Frank can do it all except run. I heard when he came back he still could outrun Paulie even with his bad ankle.

    YASNY & Steff

    QUOTE(winodj @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) Beat me to that. And me too.
  8. Curry - Size and talent/potential to make any scout/gm drool. Already being proven to be a great scorer, although defense has yet to be seen. I have seen small improvements on defense. They are small, but nonetheless they are improvements. And we aren't sure yet on his heart (both physically and mentally) Chandler - Hustle, work ethic, and desire to make any scout/gm drool. He is taller than Curry, but lacks the mass Curry has. If he gains a lot more massive (20-40 pounds) and can keep that drive, he can be a monster. He is already awesome on defense and on boards so we won't go there. This guy is terrible on offense. Sure, he puts down a monster dunk now and then, but the guy plays like he's 6'6" on offense. He goes to the hole like a lot of guards would against PF's and C's, trying to avoid contact and being afraid to attack (like fading away and throwing up runners) and he can't score like a guard well. So there's a bit left to be desired on both sides.
  9. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Why you don't f*** with Shingo Takatsu
  10. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jun 23, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) Idonno he does have a point, Ozzie seems to get away with a lot of dumb s*** that he says... but i guess the antidote for getting away with dumb s*** is winning He just says so much dumb s*** that the media can't get mad over it all or there wouldn't be anything else to talk about.
  11. QUOTE(gettysburg32 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) (we need a Japanese flag smiley)
  12. QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 01:57 PM) Name me another Sox mgr that has been better than Ozzie Jerry Manuel, manager of the year!!! If ozzie wins us a WS, I'll say he's the best.
  13. QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Frank is starting to look like Frank of old! He looks like he has slimed down around the waist,ass,legs! i sure it was the rehab! You see that awesome pic and all you do is check out Frank's ass.
  14. QUOTE(mac9001 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 09:00 PM) Halladay 10-4, 2.53 ERA, 11 QS, 0.95 WHIP Buehrle 8-1, 2.67 ERA, 11 QS, 1.05 WHIP Garland 12-2, 3.40 ERA, 10 QS, 1.09 WHIP and seeing as Halladay also has more IP and Ks i'd say he's more worthy. BTW, Kenny Rogers should get some consideration too. Whose team is the best in the bigs? That plays with arguably the best division in the bigs? That has to make you more deserving, helping your team to the best record in the bigs.
  15. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) Won't the ones who really need the money go to Ohio State?
  16. His batting stance is funny enough..
  17. I want Griffey to get back into the top 3 of outfield voting

    Danks?

    QUOTE(Randar68 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 01:52 PM) This is discussed in about 12 different threads here, but what the hey... sorry about that...i had looked around and seen it talked about i just didn't know if we had officially given up or something
  19. Jake

    Danks?

    Will we sign him? I heard we might have to fork over some cash, in the non-sox way. I hope we get him, he could be quite the steal in the 19th round.
  20. I see some rappers wear sox hats. Like this morning the Game wore it in parts of his video.
  21. Aren't a lot of the Braves' games on TNT or something like that? Whoever made that deal was prolly smart, they are good and have been for a while.
  22. Jake

    It's destiny

    Oh yeah, and if we have many more games like that, Hawkeroo may not be with us much longer. You wanna see apes***, listen to him at the end of that game.
  23. After seeing this tonight, the walk off bomb in the recreation of '59 series, I was pretty sure. And now, as I realize I'm drinking an A&W root beer that says "since 1919" I am now positive. Let's go sox! Let's put those bastards (Minnesota and Cleveland) away!! :finger
  24. Well we know that there likely will be a need for a new fifth starter, and BMac struggling, don't you think Neal Cotts might be able to return to a starter's role? He's sure earned a shot in my book. My only concern is does he have enough pitches?
