  1. Oh crap i just realized i clicked the wrong quote button. Sorry
  2. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) I've heard good things about Infamous on PS3. What do you guys think? I can get it for about $25 on ebay. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 31, 2009 -> 12:22 PM) I'm pretty sure if you go into any 7/11 you can get Infamous for $14.99. I know that's the price they have it at the one by me. Should I be picking it up? I played the demo and the graphics didn't seem all that great. Its good game. It was my 2nd or 3rd favorite game of the year (behind Uncharted 2 and about even with Batman: AA). Yeah the graphics arent great, but thats the price you pay for an open world. Its just fun flying around the place killing baddies.
  3. QUOTE (Cali @ Jan 1, 2010 -> 03:08 AM) Soundgarden will reunite. f*** YES. Very good news. I gotta see them when they come to Chicago. It would ****ing sweet if they go on tour with Pearl Jam or AiC

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 22, 2009 -> 02:01 AM) The movie was still one of the best I've ever seen in the movies. I'd definetly recommend it

    What's your OCD?

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 11:42 AM) Whenever I eat I make sure everything on my plate is separated. For example, random pieces of corn must be removed from the potatoes before beginning. Also, each type of food must be completed before moving on to something else. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 20, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) A lot of times discretely "pat" the outside of my pocket to make sure my wallet is still there. I always have a phobia of losing it. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 21, 2009 -> 07:42 AM) I check my alarm clock repeatedly each night - re-check the time, re-check that its on, turn it off, turn it on... a few times. Not sure why I bother, as its always set for 5:15am anyway, and if I missed it, I'd be awoken by the sounds of a crying toddler shortly after that anyway. I don't do that for anything else, really. I'm guilty of all of this. There's also some others that I have. I normally have to check that a door is locked seconds after I knowingly locked it. I also can not touch public washroom fixtures with my open palm. I'll either use my foot or the back of my hand to flush a toilet or urinal, and use my knuckles to turn on/off the faucet.
  6. QUOTE (Nunnigan @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) Tomorrow will be my first ever court appearance, and its going to be a pain in the ass. Back in November 2008, I was the victim of a hit and run driver. Luckily the guys front plate fell off in the crash, so I was able to turn the guy in when I made my police report. Then two nights ago, I was issued a subpoena because I missed the court date this past October. I didnt think it would have been a big deal to miss the Hn'R driver's trial since what was I going to tell them? "Yeah I was rear ended by a guy who took off, and no I didnt have a good look of the offender." They could have gotten that information from my police report. I guess I should have contacted the court offices requesting that miss the first trial, since I had class that I couldnt skip. Now I have to take off of work because of this BS. Well it went exactly like I expected, a complete waste of time. After waiting for about an hour, I spoke with the assistant state attorney and told her about the incident, all which lasted 5 minutes and could have been discussed over the phone. Because I couldn't identify the driver, the guy will get off scot free. For what its worth, the guy obviously said that he did not cause any crash. And to think, if I didn't attend this trial I could have been arrested. It doesnt make any sense at all
  7. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 11:19 AM) That sucks. But, on the other hand, you get the satisfaction of seeing this asshole squirm and get nailed to a wall in court. That has to be worth something. True but I'd much prefer the money that I wont be receiving because of missing work.

  9. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) Whoever said Pierre in LF, Rios in CF, Jones in RF and Quentin at DH is probably right. Minimize Quentin's injury risk and the defense is a pretty big improvement over that monstrosity we had last season. I would be sick if Ozzie plans to make Jones an everyday OFer
  10. QUOTE (bighurt574 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) If the Dodgers are paying half his salary, I imagine we gave up something of decent value. I wouldnt say decent value, since Pierre had no position with the Dodgers. Possibly mid-level pitchers were involved
  11. QUOTE (HoosierSox @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:07 AM) How much are we paying him if we are paying half of his contract? What does his contract look like? Pierre had 2 years/ $18.5 left on his contract
  12. When I was about 5 years old, I wanted to be an artist because I loved coloring in Batman and Spiderman coloring books. Then when I played in little league I wanted to be a baseball player. Like many of you, I tried to copy a player's swing which often led to poor results. Lets see, I tried to imitate Julio Franco's, Ventura's, and Durham's swing for a couple of seasons. After baseball didnt work out, I wanted to be a cop like my dad. As of right now, I work for the CPD, but I'm just waiting for the next test.
  13. QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Oct 28, 2009 -> 08:46 AM) What incentive do they have to not do stuff like that if everyone buys the game anyway? Just because someone is dissappointed in a product doesnt mean they'll boycott that said product. Take this seasons Sox team. In my eyes, they were a dissapointment, but that doesnt mean I wont buy tickets next season. Plus I would say a vast majority people, including myself, are going to buy the game regardless of what's in the single player game. But dont get me wrong guys, I enjoy those types of games, but personally they are taking it a bit too far. The difference between the games mentioned (GTA, Fallout, Infamous) and this COD level is the choice in your actions. Sure you can "kill" some random person whose walking down the street, but its your decision to do so or not. Its the same with Fallout and Infamous, you can choose to play as a good or bad character. The COD level, on the other hand, your being placed into a situation where you're encouraged to kill innocents to advance. I dont find playing as a terrorist shooting up a airport particularly intriguing. I guess we'll see how it plays out if we're given context into our actions the character is suppose to carry out.
  14. I would say THIS is one instance where a video game has gone to far No doubt this game is going to sell well, so I'm surprised and kinda disappointed that this is going to be in the game. I'm still going to get the game though.. ***Mods, I understand if this message is deleted or moved if this subject is filibuster material

I saw Paranormal Activity last night, and it was a decent scary movie (better than Blair Witch in terms of the mock documentary style). There's not much of a plot, but the boyfriend Micha and girlfriend Kate have good chemistry which will lead to a few chuckle moments. You'll know when a scary moment will happen cause most of it happens at night, its just the suspense leading up to the moment will make it that more creepy. Without giving anything away, the ending has a definite WTF!?! moment, as that is what came shouting out of my mouth when it took place. I would give the movie about a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. Word to the wise though, get to the theater early if you want tickets to your showing. My brothers and I were planning to watch the 9:30 showing, but when we got to the theater we found out that not only the 9:30 showing was sold out but the 10:10 showing was sold out as well. So we ended up catching the movie at 10:45 which was also sold out. When we left the movie, it looked like the 12:30 showing could have possibly been sold out.
  16. QUOTE (tommy @ Oct 6, 2009 -> 04:04 AM) Why do so many of you cross off Pauly from 1B, he can still play some great first base, give him one more year, then his contract is up. Sox need to find a RF (pending JD's departure unless they want Quentin there) and a DH (unless they want Flowers DH'ing being a backup catcher) Find a leadoff guy, second baseman possibly. Who is to say that Konerko or Johnson can't share time at 1B and DH?

  20. My weirdest flight wasnt as bad as that, but it was real embarrasing. Two years ago, my family and I were flying back from Phoenix. Halfway through the flight, I woke up from a nap and noticed some 40+ year old lady was sitting right next to me, hitting on me. Before you even say "What's the problem?" she was absolutley plastered, smelling of alcohol and about 20 years older than me. She was very flirtatious and very touchy-feeley. Approaching Chicago, late at night, she told me that she wanted to see the city lights because she's never seen them before. I told her if she wanted to switch seats since I had the window seat, but she said she was fine sitting where she was. At any time the plane flew over city, no matter how big or small, she would always lean over and ask me if that was Chicago. Getting fed up, I signaled to my brother and mom, who were sitting in the seats across the asile, to bring over a flight attendant. All they did was laugh at what I had to put up with. As the plane was making its decent into O'Hare is when it really started to get awkward. Like you all know, you have to remain seated, with your seatbelts fastened, while the plane makes its decent, this lady however ignored such rules. The flight attendants have to remind her several times to fasten her seat belt, until finally there was an argument between the lady and the attendants. She was removed from the seats next to me, and the attendants apologized to me for over serving her, and for her actions. When the plane landed, everyone on the plane was laughing and joking around with me for all that I had to put up with. This was perhaps one of the most embarrasing moments of my life.
  21. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 12:53 PM) No. When teams realize that they should pitch around him and take their chance with the rest of the lineup, his numbers will drop. Bonus tidbit...a girl who was a waitress out at Regions Park back in 2006 was originally from Minnesota. Her sister had dated Mauer, and she said that he was a complete jerk. Pick your poison. Would you rather pitch to Mauer with nobody onbase, or to Morneau with Mauer onbase?
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 7, 2009 -> 07:26 AM) Whose to say he wasn't on steroids too? Everything we saw seems to be a farce anyways, nothing would surprise me anymore. Seeing as how he's always been a big guy, and that he's always been outspoken against steroid use, I would think he would be clean. But yeah anything could be possible. It would be a sad day if Big Hurt tested positive for PEDs
  23. Frank is now the clear cut best hitter in the 90's (along with JR.), even if there wasn't any question about him being the best...
  24. Who cares? How does Rays fans not showing up for home games affect the Sox? If they choose not to go, its their problem... And for FedEx, he's not a Cubs fan. I've seen him post on a different Sox message board. Just because someone has a low post count, like myself, doesnt automaticlly make him a Cubs fan.
  25. QUOTE (LosMediasBlancas @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 12:20 AM) Bad is an understatement. Even if he follows it up with a solid Cornell record it won't get him any respect back. He'll need to do something ballsy... like join Slayer. Whatever happenned to the rest of Soundgarden? Here's what happened to them Its old, but I'm a big Cornell fan, but my god, the songs I heard over the past couple of months are horrid
