50 is good but not the best. Talent wise i would say no question, the best rapper alive is Shady

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 10:12 PM) I'm sure we'll be talking about his music in twenty years.... :rolly He'll have several albums listed among the greatest of all-time... i guarantee that we are talking about him in 20 years. And honestly, ask rap fans what they think of Get Rich or Die Tryin. I bet that many would say that its one of their favorite CDs ever

I like this CD better than his first.. but they are both quality.. best.rapper.evar better than his first CD? No f***ing way! Get Rich or Die Tryin is one of the best CDs of ALL TIME. It is amazing. I can honestly say that I love every single song on that CD. That cant be said about most CDS. I do like Baltimore Love Thing, Get in My Car, Outta Control, Gunz Come Out, Ski Mask Way, so far.
  6. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 08:30 PM) Purdue. Make sure you click on users who have several slots open. That should speed you up. damn, but if i download from people at other schools, it affects my bandwith. So i can only download like 750 mb in a day. thats y we need more people at U of I to get this program!
  7. QUOTE(3E8 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 08:25 PM) LMFAO. I can usually get 2MB/sec on i2hub. damn, what school do u go to
  8. one of my friends today told me about this program called i2hub. it is sort of like a P2P program except only for colleges so the government cant do s*** about it. It allows you to download things from people on the UIUC network as well as other colleges. BUT, the beauty of this thing is that if you download from people on the UIUC network, your bandwith will NOT get limited. There will be no affect on your bandwith whatsoever, as long as you download from people on the UIUC network. Either way, though, the speeds on this thing are ridiculous. No joke, it goes 600+ KBS a second. So go to i2hub.com and tell other people about it, cuz we need more people on the network. When you download it, must post back here and i will show you how to set it up.

Personally, ive been listenin to Put on You the Game a lot. I just love that beat. Overall, I would have to say that my favorite song is We Ain't, with Shady

QUOTE(SouthSide2004 @ Mar 3, 2005 -> 04:59 PM) I am waiting for my buddy to get back with the CD, but I've heard several songs on the Massacre. So far, I must say I'm a little dissapointed, especially since there are only two Dre beats. Also, "Gatman and Robin" is just straight annoying. To be honest, I think "How We Do" and "Hate it or Love it" could have been the two best songs on the Massacre, especially since I don't like the remix of the ladder. Oh well, The Documentary is the s*** anyways. yea, no question, The Documentary is a really good CD. Ton of good songs on there

    New 50 Cent

I just got the CD. So far Ive heard a few songs. It seems pretty weak to me, especially compared to Get Rich or Die Tryin. The beats just aren't there. I can see why 50 was pissed about the Game. It is VERY clear that Dre focused MUCH more on The Documentary than The Massacre. Dre only produced like 2 songs on this CD, while producing almost every song on The Game's CD. Any of you guys got thoughts on The Massacre?
  12. how bout doin either the burnett or colon trade with clemens instead of schilling. what do u guys think bout that
  13. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 02:22 AM) Okay, commentary on both deals. If it has to be Chavez and Colon for Schilling, then don't do it. Chavez isn't enough of an upgrade over Jones to justify the downgrade from Schilling to Colon. However, if he has a lower ranked guy with great stuff like Oliver Perez, Harden, Becket, or Burnett, that would be worth it in my book. As for Chipper for I-Rod, no thanks. I don't care how scarce catching talent is, when there is that big a difference in production don't do it. LoDuca will do fine, I'm not so sure I Rod will even out produce him that much. Another thing to consider is whether or not Jones is OF eligible in your league. If he is, then you can move him there if that is a weak spot on your team. As for the other deal, no way. You definitely need to get better position players in the deal. None of those guys are starting caliber, you need to get at least one, possibly two depending on their talent level. However, If you can find a way to get Perez without giving up Pedro, that would be a nice addition. ok so you would do the deal for burnett instead of colon? cuz thats exactly what he has

And I do know for a fact that orginally it is supposed to be Guerilla Unit named after troops in WWII. I assume that it still is

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:41 AM) lol here's the thing about Young Buck http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1117044youngbuck1.html I assume he turned himself in, anyone have any other info? yes, u do normally go to jail after stabbing someone, lol. I doubt he will though. He will get around it somehow. Although i could be wrong, since Tony Yayo is already in jail for a minor crime, weapons possesion or somethin IIRC

    New Rap War?

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) I could have sworn I've seen clothing that says Guerilla Unit. yea, they got their own clothing company and if IIRC G-Unit has also signed a deal with Reebok. Like I said before, G-Unit/Shady Aftermath own music right now

QUOTE(KipWellsFan @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:32 AM) Isn't Young Buck going to jail for stabbing some guy at the Source awards? yea, he did stab someone at the source awards. I never knew that he was going to jail. Where did you see this?
  21. QUOTE(knightni @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:15 AM) See if they have someone younger and thinner than Fatolo. Chavez and a younger SP would be fair for Schilling. I think Curt is due for a partial decline this year since he will be shouldering more of the SP role. IRod might be a good trade for Chipper if Ordonez is healthy. well i counteroffered larry walker and schilling for Chavez and Schmidt, but i doubt that he would do that trade

    New Rap War?

QUOTE(flippedoutpunk @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:25 AM) i dont know if anyone mentioned this yet but game is still part of shady/aftermath so im real interested to see whats going to happen with all that, and i cant wait to hear what dre has to say oh yea, hes still affiliated with interscope and underneath that shady/aftermath. What i found interesting was that i read on mtv.com that Interscope was about to drop The Game from its label, until 50 stepped in and promoted The Documentary. Im not sure that dre would be that upset. As long as Game is under his record label, hes happy im sure. And i cant say that im surpirsed by this. What do you expect when you just put some guy you just found on the west coast into an already existing rap group that was friends and grew up together (I know that 50, Banks, and Yayo literally grew up around the corner from each other in Southside Jamiaca Queens, not sure about Buck though, who is from the souht)

    New Rap War?

QUOTE(3 BeWareTheNewSox 5 @ Mar 2, 2005 -> 12:09 AM) It was supposed to be "Guerilla Unit" but then that animated band "The Gorillaz" came out around the same time so now they just use it as "Gangsta Unit" I can't wait for Jadakiss' and Fat Joe's responses, I wish Nas would do one but it sounds like he's not worrying about it too much. Interesting stuff said by 50 in the NY radio interview (allhiphop.com), not sure how much is believable, but seriously Piggy Bank and his new CD is garbarge, and The Documentary s***s all over it. The Game is probably better off this way, it's all for publicity though, funny how this all happens 2 days before the album release what the hell are fat joe and Jada gonna say? they cannot say s***. 50/G-Unit/Shady Aftermath own rap, if not all of music right now. and yea, the Games CD is the s***, def. some good stuff on there. I personally havent heard the new 50 yet, but im sure it will be great. The first 2 songs from it are amazing bar/club partying songs. And i dont know if Game is better off by himself. Being part of G-Unit and with 50 marketed him really well i thought. Although i guess he will be able to market on his own just based on his CD

    New Rap War?

LOL, G-Unit does not stand for gorilla unit!!!! LOL. it actually stands for Guerilla Unit. They are called that because if IIRC, there was a unit in WWII called G-Unit or Guerilla unit which was only black soldiers
