He had to go. You can't pay $1.2m to a kicker who's been that bad for a season and a half.

QUOTE(DePloderer @ May 13, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) I'm from Leeds, which means I'm a NORTHERNER. Welcome to Soxtalk, fellow Englander, from a "soft, southern, shandy drinking, poofter"... ... I think that's what we're known as in your part of the world. Although putting a few more expletives in there would be probably make it more accurate.

Anna Kournikova.. Anna has never won a single tennis tournament-like we care!!! She is Russia's greatest to the West since vodka. Predictably, her ranking as a babe is much higher than her tennis ranking which peaked at 10. Could have been worse..

Chicago Bears Draft Thread

Ouch. :fyou Angelo. -
If JA does actually want to take Benson, then he should trade down and grab extra picks. Everything I've seen suggests that Benson could be had as low as 9 or 10. - Some ridiculous mocks have him at 13 or 14, which is certainly not the case with the other 2 RBs. To use the 4th overall pick on him would be a bad move on JA's behalf. IMO IF the Bears stay at #4, they will NOT be taking Benson. If they trade down they will. I'm probably completely wrong, but I guess we'll all know in 28 hours 39 minutes time.

Kiper on top draft picks/Bears

From what I've been reading/hearing, Minnesota will trade up and get Edwards - most likely with Miami at #2. With the #3 spot also there for the taking for any team who really wants it, there is a chance (albeit a small one) that Edwards and M.Williams will both be gone by #4. Lots of twists and turns still to come in the next couple of days. -

UK - When I need you - Leo Sayer. US - Love Theme from "A Star is Born" (Evergreen) - Barbara Streisand. :headshake Some of these UK Number 1's you guys haven't heard of are so terrible. Don't look them up and try to listen to them. Believe me - You'll need months of therapy. Especially "The Wurzels", "The 1970 World Cup Squad" and "Enya"..Ouch.

Outstanding job by Buehrle. I wish he'd speed up, though. These 1 hour 40 minute games drag on. And Kong too..

QUOTE(Palehosefan @ Apr 13, 2005 -> 04:19 AM) The video was nuts, the goalkeeper got smacked right in the shoulder/head with a lit flare, all in all there was like 16 flare's thrown onto the field. How the hell do they get flare's into the game is my question? I would be terrified to go to any rivalry European football game, thats insane. Flares are very common in a lot of european stadiums. I have no idea why. I've only ever seen one in England, and that was a month ago. Interesting point about being "terrified" to go to a rivalry game. As my view from the other side of the fence, is that I'd rather go to a big soccer rivalry game than (for example) sit in the stands at an Oakland Raiders game. I guess it's all about what we read in the papers, and see on TV. Oakland has a bad reputation over here. Is it a justified reputation? - I don't know. I've seen a few articles on soccer, on American websites, and the majority are very, very wrong. In fact they are so far from the truth it's unreal. Going by some of the crap that I've read, you'd think you would be lucky to go to a soccer match and get out of the stadium alive. That couldn't be any further from the truth - I've gone to games for 20 years (a lot of them in some of the more "hostile" stadiums) and have NEVER seen any trouble at all. I can't really speak for other countries, but the progress made on stopping hooliganism here has been so good, that one of the SAFEST places to be in Britain, is inside a soccer stadium.

QUOTE(beck72 @ Apr 12, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) the Twins had a 186-117 record against AL Central teams since 2001 and were 135-137 against the rest of the American League. They also are 70-65 in interleague play during that time period." Since 2001 - 18 inter league games a year x4 years = 135??? I'm I missing something?

QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 12:13 AM) I KNEW this would involve the Celtic....... Although I'm surprised it wasn't Ranger's Fans doing the booing. The team Celtic were playing today (Heart of Midlothian), are Edinburgh's equivalent of Rangers - both Rangers and Hearts are Protestant clubs. Unfortunately, sectarianism is still a big, big problem in Scotland. It goes back so far in history, I can't ever see it changing. Particularly where Celtic and Rangers are involved. What those "fans" did today was a disgrace. -
QUOTE(winninguglyin83 @ Apr 10, 2005 -> 05:03 AM) Where can you find minor league box scores? Haven't been able to get them on minorleaguebaseball.com or baseballamerica.com can anybody help? USA Today's website has minor league boxscores on it. The scores aren't up as quick as Minor League Baseball's site, but if you wanted to look at a whole leagues scores, all on the same page, it's good. All leagues are covered. Example Last Nights International League Box Scores..
