Bears Sign WR Muhsin Muhammad

A six year deal it is. A couple of years longer than I thought it would be. USA TODAY ARTICLE -
Did he run backwards?

Bears Sign WR Muhsin Muhammad
Credepopsup replied to Confederate_48's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Excellent signing - I think CB is a position that JA will now look to in the draft. Zoom's contract is up after next season, and the Bears won't have the $ to pay him, and RW will more than likely be cut. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rolle taken at #4, IF Angelo keeps the pick that is. The Bears top 3 CB's in 2006 = Peanut, Rolle and Vasher, imo. -
I've no problem with El Duque. It's just a shame he wasn't on the mound for us, the day Hunter ran over Burke. I think Hunter might have been nursing a sore head.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Feb 25, 2005 -> 08:54 AM) Did anyone else see this trade as well? You can say goodbye Mike Dunleavy. Both Tskitishvili and White are free agents this summer - Tskitishvili's 4th year option wasn't taken up, and White has a $2.1m team option for next year which will more than likely not be triggered. It's audition time for them. Cheaney's gone too, so that leaves Dunleavy, Cabarkapa, Pietrus and occasionally J-Rich, to play SF A lot of large contracts, mean that one of Dunleavy and Pietrus will probably be traded this summer - The Warriors can't afford an extension for both. The rumor is that Dunleavy is more likely, but he is Mullin's "goldenchild" so nothing is certain yet. It'll be an interesting summer.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Feb 24, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) AI and CWebb, the Sixers are a playoff lock IMO. I agree. If Webber stays healthy, they'll win the Atlantic and get the Number 3 seed.

Mashburn is done. I read somewhere that insurance is paying 80% of his salary next season, and then the Sixers can buy him out of the rest, due to the amount of time he's been on IR. Basically he's a big expiring contract. (with insurance paying for most of whats left on it)

Who does Ben Gordon remind you of?
Credepopsup replied to rangercal's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
From my limited looks at him, I'd say that he's more of a Gilbert Arenas type of player.. ..Although Gordon's well ahead of where Arenas was at this stage of their careers. -

Yahoo Fantasy Baseball sign ups!!!
Credepopsup replied to southsider2k5's topic in PTC/Contest/Fantasy Board
I've played in fantasy football leagues before, but haven't played fantasy baseball yet. I'm willing to play in any league of your choice, although a live draft league would be good. I promise to be active - don't let my relatively low post count mislead you, I've been more of a reader, than a poster so far. Thanks. -
****OFFICIAL SOXTALK 2005 PREDICTIONS THREAD****
Credepopsup replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox will finish 89-73. The Sox will be ranked in the top 3 for stolen bases. The Sox will win both series against the Scrubs. The Sox will be ranked in the top 3 for striking out the least. There will be a huge brawl against the Twins, during which AJ will rip off Hunter's head and s*** down his neck. AJ will be banned for the rest of the season, but will be reinstated when Selig sees the funny side. During the World series winning celebrations, Frank Thomas's foot will fall off at the ankle, forcing him into retirement. During the ticker tape parade after winning the world series, Ozzie will come clean and admit that he is the voice behind "Triumph the insult comic dog" and perform "I keed, I keed" to a shocked crowd. Jay Mariotti will be fired. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 07:10 PM) The one thing I will say is that Maggs when healthy is a better defensive right fielder then Vlad, Vlad is an overrated rated outfielder. I can't say I agree with that. I always thought Maggs was the overrated one - A just above average fielder at best. imo.

QUOTE(Brian @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 07:05 PM) Anyone know who this Reiner dude is? Did I miss something? Jared Reiner - a 6'11 center out of Iowa, he was activated today, when Antonio Davis was placed on the injured list. I assume he was signed as a rookie free agent, although I could be wrong.

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Feb 5, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Vlad -- career .325/.390/.589 -- 147 career OPS+ -- 5yr/70M Maggs -- career .307/.364/.525 -- 127 career OPS+ -- 5yr/75M Great post. If you also take into account other parts of their game - fielding, throwing arm, base running etc it's not even close as to who should be earning more, and that's not even taking health issues into consideration.

$75 million!?! Crazy money. I thought 5 Years $50-60 Million would be a more than reasonable offer. You've got to hand it to Boras - He may be an asshole, but he's really good at his job.
-
Not surprised to hear he's retired. How could he even think about playing baseball with his high profile court case coming up?

Just heard the great news. Good work KW. A very reasonable price too. I thought he'd get more than that.

I've got that fight on video, I used to tape the Sox highlights every day, when we used to get a Fox Sports News feed over here. That was some fight. The best part was when Maggs was surrounded and tried to kick his way out of it. Robert Fick getting drinks thrown at him was pretty funny too. I treasure that 2000 season tape.

I'm surprised the US isn't bored with Ali G/Borat yet. People over here thought he was funny for a while, and then finally realised exactly what his comedy is........ s***. That's why he left the country - nobody found him funny anymore.
