Sox Have 4 of the Top 15 Pitchers in the AL
Leonard Zelig replied to Southside hitmen's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Stranded all 3. The ERAs will stay. Mark Buehrle is 2nd behind Rogers by .02 runs. Well, I guess you were right. I still love Mark Buehrle. -

Well Buehrle gave up 7ER in 6 IP against OAK earlier this season so, it's possible. That outing right there is where Rogers' lead comes from. -

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:36 PM) He'd have to have a pretty s***ty game. I figured it for 5 IP and he would need 7 ER. -

Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but if Kenny Rogers has a s***ty game tonight, Buehrle could be leading the league in ERA. -
QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:09 PM) They help a ton. white=fast green=change red=breaking orange=knuckle thats all i know thats all they eve throw though. You can look to see what color each pitcher's pitches are going to be by pressing one of the buttons. It's been awhile since I've played, so I forget, but I think it's the one that shows the previous at bats. Maybe the white one?

Link FOXSports.com The Kansas City T-Bones and Schamburg Flyers of the independent Northern League can take it easy at the start of their July 16th game off. That's because the first two innings will be played virtually. According to a report in the Kansas City Star two video gamers will climb into recliners stationed at home plate, grab their Microsoft Xbox game controllers and slug it out for two innings on the park's 16- by 24-foot video screen. Whatever the score is after those two innings will stand when the teams take the field to finish the game in more conventional fashion. The idea originally came from the 6-year-old niece of Bryan Williams, director of community relations for the T-Bones. "It was a fun way to get my niece involved in things I do every day," Williams said. "Then it just grew and grew and took off." The two combatants will be determined through video game competitions at CompUSA stores in Overland Park and Independence, Kan. The virtual game is a first for professional baseball, but unique promotions are commonplace for the Kansas City team. Last year, the T-Bones auctioned rights to a fan's night on eBay. The winning bidder found his likeness on 3,000 bobblehead dolls.

QUOTE(Winnin Ugly @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 03:06 PM) Larussa should have won more with the talent he had on his ballclub... Lopez was a loser anyone who doesnt put his own player in the HOF shouldn't even be consider.. If Mags and Frank didnt get hurt last and he had a decent 5th starter last year team would won over 90 games It looks like this season we might win over 100 games What does this mean? How can a manager put a player in the HOF?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2005 -> 08:50 AM) I was glad to see the Doobies out there, anything to draw more attention and fans to the team, in a positive manner. Plus they still do a pretty good show. I am a volunteer for a local county fair group, and I always help set up the concerts. The Doob's I actually got to drive back and forth to the hotel, and they were all really nice guys. Did you meet Joe Vallee, the Doobies guitar tech? He was an instructor at the guitar school I went to. Joe Vallee rocks!!

I thought I saw Peter Gammons in the stands, anybody else see him?

McCarthy out of rotation; to bullpen as swingman
Leonard Zelig replied to Jabroni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He didn't get much of a chance to earn that spot in the rotation. -
QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 06:41 PM) Just click open, it should then open up real player or whatever you use. Thanks, I had to change my browser settings.

It asks if I want to OPEN or SAVE TO DISK. Which do I do? If OPEN, then with what?

QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) When we played games everyday there for about 2-3 weeks, everyone got 4 days rest. This is not pitching anyone on short rest. To me, I don't see where it is risky. Because they all will be pitching in more games. If you did that for a whole season it would mean 40 starts each.
-
If they did, I missed it. The one guy said SD would beat out STL in the playoffs cause the Padres won 3 of 4 this season.

On Around the Horn today, Woody Page picked Cleveland to go to the World Series.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Jun 21, 2005 -> 01:08 AM) He still can't bunt. That's one thing I wish he would learn how to do. Maybe AJ can teach him.

Was it Wendelstedt that booted Ozzie & Crede?
-
I ask this because I heard a guy on Sporting News Radio complaining about the low scores in the NBA finals this year. I don't really watch much NBA anymore, but when I did, I loved defense.

Didn't Barry Jones have 10 wins in relief at the All-Star break for the Sox in 1990?

The Score after the game last night....
Leonard Zelig replied to BigNDfan80's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2005 -> 11:04 AM) Didn't the Score just get the Sox radio deal? You think they'd have to have at least a little sanity to get that. Unless the guy's arguing that Ozzie can turn Cory Patterson into Scott Podsednik when no one else has been able to, this man deserves to have a chair broken over his head for sheer incompetence. I'm sure all Ozzie wants is another swing and miss guy who can't advance runners and swings for the fences every at bat. It was a caller. -
QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 02:18 PM) Yessir...I know...just emphasizing a point. If you like Skynyrd, check out the Drive-By Truckers

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Reformed? I thought Pink Floyd was named after the lead singer. Next thing you are going to tell me that Leonard Skinard is a band, too. Lynyrd Skynyrd

QUOTE(YahtzeeSox @ Jun 17, 2005 -> 02:46 AM) DBAH0 you just brought out the Pink Floyd nerd in me. Anyways "Pink Floyd" played in 1994. This is the Pink Floyd with 3 of the 4 band members, not including Roger Waters who, above, just agreed to perform with them. Now, with Roger... I think it was about 1981 or so. After The Wall things pretty much turned sour and he left the band. For the past 20 years they've been in all sorts of lawsuits and stuff involving lawyers and sniping but now it seems they've set aside their differences for a good cause. This is Pink Floyd, not for money, but for a good cause. Roger's a bit of an asshole but I respect him a lot more for this. Pink Floyd made one album with Roger Waters after The Wall, it was called The Final Cut, although keyboardist Rick Wright did not play on it for reasons I do not know. So the last time the main 4 members played together was sometime on The Wall tour. The Pink Floyd that has been performing since, has added about 8 members through extra drummers, keyoards, guitars, female vocals, and a saxophone player. All of which are completely unnecessary in my opinion, check out the DVD Pink Floyd: Live in Pompeii, for an example of how powerful that group could be live with only 4 pieces. The origional Pink Floyd hasn't played together since around 1968, of course.

Carl said that he was more than happy to visit with the team and would do the same for any team, as long as there were no gays on it.
