QUOTE (SonofaRoache @ Apr 16, 2018 -> 11:23 AM) A rational person would consider this but not baseball. They will want to keep rivalries and traditions strong with smaller divisions. It's also the reason they wont add the DH to the NL as strategy is important to them, even though no one cares about that or wants to see the pitcher bat. I live in St. Louis and every Cardinal fan I have ever heard talk about it, wants nothing to do with a DH in the NL.

They could do it like my softball league, batters start with a 1-1 count. That should speed things up.

QUOTE (joejoedairy @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 04:17 PM) I just got back from a trip where we hit Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, Canyonlands, Petrified Forest, Flagstaff and then finished it off with a weekend in New Orleans for Wrestlemania. It was a great trip and awesome to see so much of what this country has to offer. Zion National Park was definitely the highlight. Hiking the narrows is unlike anything else you'll see, and Angel's Landing is quite a thrill as well. Bryce Canyon probably had the most stunning views. Its only about 80 miles away from Zion. If you have a chance to do a Zion trip with a day in Bryce, it would definitely be worth it. The narrows look pretty scary to me. Nowhere to go in a flash flood.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 13, 2018 -> 08:34 PM) What’d you think of the Grand Canyon? I may be going this fall/winter Grand Canyon is amazing. Definitely want to do some research if you plan on hiking all the way down, because some trails don't have water.

QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Apr 10, 2018 -> 10:02 AM) Disagree. He’s 28. He’s passed 200 IP while keeping his ERA under 3.00 four times, which Buehrle never did. He’s struck out 200 batters three times. He’s been a key player on three WS winning teams, and his performance in the 2014 Series was legendary. He might be breaking down, and if that happens, or he turns into Tim Lincecum, he won’t make it, but if he even comes close to his historic output, he’ll get in. He’s a far greater pitcher than Mark Buehrle. I think its fairly safe to say that if Buehrle pitched in the NL, he would have had several seasons with an ERA under 3.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 8, 2018 -> 12:34 PM) He definitely did, I read it and saw it. Did you click the "continue story" button? No, I had missed it originally, but he isn't really suggesting he could get $42 million, he is trolling, using 420 and 69 as much as he can in all the proposed figures.

QUOTE (haiduk @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 06:48 PM) Not my usual thing but this is well done. Good musicianship, good guitar melodies. Any metal fans here? Check out Haiduk Haiduk - "Sarxas" Haiduk - "Nergion" \m/ Thank you for the compliments. We definitely have different tastes. Haiduk is quite heavy for my ear.

Any MLB.tv users out there able to find highlights of games? Last year there were a bunch for each game and now all I can do is watch the whole game.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 31, 2018 -> 11:30 AM) George Bell did it too. It's still an amazing day. I'm just surprised there's no glee for anybody on here besides Moncada and all the guys who were acquired the last year or so for the rebuild. I guess Davidson is a little too old for anybody but a few of us to get excited. I was happy with all the bombs. Timmy appears to be ready for a superstar season now that he's dealt with the loss of a cherished friend. And Abreu remains great and Davidson just continues to hit homers (I understand he Ks a lot, but...) What do you want Greg? It was one game. Phil Humber threw a perfect game once.

QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 04:50 PM) Sunday home games, the home opener, and the rest of the Cubs home series. Wow, that's it? So Benetti is full time now?

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 06:28 PM) VIDEO: Michael Kopech vs. Jose Abreu Would they really have Abreu facing Kopech without the screen up in front? Why even take that risk? -
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Feb 19, 2018 -> 06:40 PM) Flip Leury and Anderson in the lineup. If this team was likely to compete this year, I would agree, but at this point they may as well give Anderson as many PAs as possible. Hopefully his mental state is healthier this season.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Feb 9, 2018 -> 09:37 AM) That team was 8 games under .500 after the ASB and looking at the same odds as the 2008 team faced in TB after Quentin went down. What starting pitcher was going to win a wild card game at that point? That team was never more than 3 games under and that was at 1-4.
