QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 4, 2016 -> 11:31 AM) Teams tend to give up prized assets for the likes of Chris Sale and Jose Quintana. Do you believe both of them will be traded?
-
Did the Cub fans f*** anything up last night?
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 2, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) I would just like the Indians to be up 7-0 in the 3rd. Then I will put on my Sox hat and go bar hopping in Old Town. If we never hear from DA again, we will know why.
-
Damn, they could have gotten back into this game there.

Who would start for the Cubs tomorrow if this holds up?
-
QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 31, 2016 -> 10:28 AM) Well that does not matter according to some people around here..... Why would it matter?

James Shields officially not opting out
Leonard Zelig replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Great, the Sox should have a lot of "big games" for him to pitch in. -
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 01:43 PM) Yep. 05 Sox = 85 Bears Both teams absolutely dominated the playoffs & WS/SB.

Thanks for the input guys. They have the accurate car make, a license # that sounds vaguely familiar, and the address where the ticket was written was right around the corner from where my dad lived. It's probably legit, but I have no idea if I ever paid it and I certainly could not provide proof that I did. Obviously I don't want to go to collections, but I also don't want to hand over $61 just for the hell of it. I will check out that website in the morning and see what I can find.

I just received a notice in the mail from a law firm trying to collect money from me for a parking ticket. The date of the citation is 6-17-97. Should I pay this? Is there any kind of statute of limitations on parking ticket? What could happen if I don't? They are saying that failure to respond to the notice may result in garnishing my wages and bank accounts, and filing a lien against my property. And that their client, the City of Chicago reserves the right to seek interest, attorney's fees, and other collection costs. It's only $61, but I still don't really want to give it to them.

New Stadium on the lake should be a MUST!

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Oct 21, 2016 -> 12:26 PM) How can you be friends with a park anyway? Sadly, it's generally a pretty one-sided relationship. -
Chris Getz to take over player development
Leonard Zelig replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 10:48 AM) The title of this thread is "Chris Getz to take over player development", not "Hey, how do you y'all think Nick Capra has done the past five years?". Why can't people simply share their opinions on Getz and his qualifications for this position without also having to conduct a post mortem on Capra? Like I said yesterday, if you want a discussion on how he did in the role, start up a thread on that. Meanwhile, it's really not germane to this discussion. -
QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) Don't worry, I won't, but thanks for checking in. No, I was simply reacting to Lip's post where he mentioned that Reinsdorf said as much. If it's untrue and he never claimed that trading Koosman was one of his "biggest mistakes as owner", that would be encouraging, given there are many far more franchise-crippling mistakes he's made as owner over the years that make that trade look like nothing at all in comparison. Right, but making that comment in 1984 when he owned the team for 3 years would be quite different than making the same comment in 2014. But you, having no idea when he said it, still want to comment and b**** about it because that is what you do.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 07:16 AM) Center ice. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 07:57 AM) Best seats in the house right there. Just high enough so the players don't block your view of the rest of the ice. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 5, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) I prefer anything in the club level. Less people, cleaner bathrooms. Same goes for Sox games. Thank you for the input guys. Rock, is that club level pretty much the same across all stadiums? I saw that they were priced as high as closer seats and I wasn't sure what it was all about. This is for a Colorado Avalanche game if that matters.

I am not much of a hockey fan. I am getting some hockey tickets for a friend as a gift and I want to get some opinions on where people would prefer to sit. Would you rather sit in the second row rinkside in a corner or center ice about 12 row back? His team would defend twice on the corner side.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Oct 3, 2016 -> 08:10 AM) The Sox have said once again that there was a depth/talent issue in the wake of Robin's departure, why do these two continue to get a free pass? Don't tell me it's because of loyalty, that's just a lazy explanation. They had a plan and it failed miserably (as most predicted it would), when does Jerry wake the f*** up and realize he needs to cut his losses on these 2? According to the preseason prediction poll, most people on Soxtalk did not predict it to fail miserably and you predicted a playoff appearance.

QUOTE (captain54 @ Oct 1, 2016 -> 09:51 PM) Pretty clever negotiating/debating tactic. When challenged to back up a statement, just say "I'm bored with this ..I don't want to talk about it anymore" You aren't new here. This argument has been going in circles for the past year +. Everybody is bored with it, except Thad Bosley who isn't happy unless he has something to complain about.

Look back on season record poll from March
Leonard Zelig replied to Hawkfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Looks like Balta nailed it. He probably used some kind of science or math or something. -
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 29, 2016 -> 12:04 AM) Voting is done between the regular season and the postseason.... Which is one day unless there is a tie for a spot, then there could be no days between.

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 12:52 PM) DH Harold Baines was leading the AL in hitting at the All-Star break shortly before he was traded to the Rangers that season, and was the Sox' only All Star representative that year. So up until he was traded, he was, in fact, the Sox' best player in 1989. You are using an All-Star game selection to prove that your point is a fact?

QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 11:37 AM) So we get 162 home games. Nice. That means no Hawk! Wait, they are playing the Indians home opener at Guaranteed Rate Field?
