QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ May 20, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) He already is. Not sure he's passed Tom Seaver or Steve Carlton yet.

The amount of bunting always plummets shortly after opening day and then spikes again in select areas in October.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 15, 2016 -> 06:13 PM) Not a chance. He started his slide way to late. His butt landed on the bag or just past it. That's a slide they are trying to eliminate from the game. I guess I don't know what the new rule is because it looked like he just slid at the base. He didn't go out of his way to get the fielder.

Slide looked legal to me.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 13, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) That's sick, what album was REM touring? My first concert was Prince, but the first concert I ever asked to see was Radiohead in 2006. I was 14 at the time. My mom and my older sister are fans, so I guess my fandom comes from them. I remember that summer, my older sister was in Hawaii and my litter sister was at dance camp, so it was just me and my mom for the first month of summer. We've been listening to a lot of Radiohead that summer together (Bloc Party too) and I heard that they were coming to Chicago while listening to the radio. We got tickets and went to the show later that month. We got to the very front row and I remember having my mind blown the f*** away. When I saw them play Lucky, I almost cried. That show was right around the time when I started to really go hard in pursuing music and it was a night that I'll never forget. Me and my mom, also saw them at Lollapalooza in 2008. We got there a little after noon and we camped out the whole day at the main stage and saw Yeasayer, Gogol Bordello, Bloc Party and Radiohead. My two favorite bands. I think Radiohead played almost a three hour set and all of In Rainbows. We were right against the gate and I took a bunch of pictures. It was '95, so I guess Monster. If I remember correctly Michael Stipe was recovering from some operation. Although that could have been the second time I saw R.E.M., that time with Wilco opening. A group of us drove from Carbondale, IL to somewhere in Maryland or D.C. to see Radiohead only to have it flooded out. I guess that was in 2000. I got to see them again a few years later at Bonnaroo, maybe 2006.

90's reunions, my wife went to see Babes in Toyland a while back. I never got into that scene. I saw Radiohead open for R.E.M. pre-OK Computer.

QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 02:21 PM) Who are the bullpen pieces we can rely on tonight: Duke (did he only face 1 batter?) Albers (because he's a horse/cat and non stressful inning Carroll - almost guaranteed Probably resting Robertson - 1 1/3 innings Jones - 1 inning Putnam (he pitched like 22 pitches) Jennings - 2 innings So, we at least need 6 innings. Carroll should be able to go more than one inning. -
QUOTE (Green Line @ May 9, 2016 -> 01:05 PM) As bad as some of his jokes are, I would still take it any time over the dead air and awkward silences that Hawk provides whenever anything bad happens. When that happens, I imagine Hawk hits the mute button on his mic and goes into a profanity filled tirade.

Where would he play?

QUOTE (bmags @ May 2, 2016 -> 12:56 PM) All joking aside, I really would like Buerhle to sign a 1 day contract to retire a white sox. If you think I was joking, I wasn't.
-
Mark Buehrle is playing first base in a softball league in St. Charles, MO. I have been told he is waiting for the Sox to give him a one day contract so he can retire a White Sox.

Miguel Gonzalez getting called up, Danks skipped

QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 11:16 PM) I wonder what Mark Buehrle's up to. You never know..... Playing first base in beer league softball in St. Charles MO. I believe he is waiting for the Sox to give him a 1 day contract so he can retire a White Sox. -
Does anyone know where I can get some weed? I just moved and have no connections.

4/23 Game thread: Texas, 1:10pm, CSN
Leonard Zelig replied to Chicago White Sox's topic in 2016 Season in Review
QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 23, 2016 -> 04:00 PM) Only the Sox can mess a huge inning up. I think Texas did a pretty good job of that on Friday. -
I love it when the Sox win!

QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Apr 17, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) The only one apparently "miserable" around here today has been you, Dick Allen. All of the rage in these various posts in this thread which have almost universally agreed by everyone to be a complete overreaction on your part to the simple topic at hand. There really is need or call for your Angry Bird routine. This is a fan site/message board for a baseball team. Fans will have and express concerns about the team - that's the way it works. I'm sorry you have such a difficult time with a point of view on things that is different than your own. That's what seems to make you so miserable all of the time. You are delusional or just trying to stir up s*** if you think DA's posts in this thread contain rage.

Why would they cancel a game against a division opponent in April? -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 6, 2016 -> 07:50 AM) No way. I am gonna milk the Drake LaRoche jokes up until David Robertson closes out the WS title. Yes, the more times you repeat a joke, the funnier it gets.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 5, 2016 -> 01:11 AM) People that know me have enough decency to not ruin the outcomes of games I record. Tonight was that night. I don't have to worry about people so much, but where I work there are always TVs with sports on.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) Maybe you are different from me, but every time I couldn't watch a game and recorded it, no matter how well I planned, it never worked out. That is how I watched game 3 vs. Boaton in 2005. Recorded it on a VCR. I learned the outcome of tonight's game before I got home, but I probably could have avoided it if I really tried.

Can't decide whether to keep up while at work or try to ignore and watch it when I get off at midnight.

What shape field is baseball normally played on?
