  1. QUOTE(mr_genius @ Apr 25, 2006 -> 12:13 AM) Denny's rules i've been arrested in a Denny's soooo many times, i understand his pain. My advice to you, stop going to Denny's.
  2. I do respect Mel, because the league respects him. You can't say that about too many analysts on ESPN. I can't remember which talk radio program it was, but they suggested playing replays of past years drafts on ESPN classic. Just to see the analysis and predictions of their futures. I think that woud be fun to watch.
  3. Don't judge so fast. I got charged with a dui after having 5 beers in 3 hours. I beat it, but so may he. Until I did though, everyone looked at me like I had 9 heads.
  4. Im running the Shamrock Shuffle then going to the game. Anyone else running?
  5. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 21, 2006 -> 12:52 PM) Speed offers a lot more than the stats give it credit for. As iwrotecode pointed out, it has a huge effect on opposing pitchers and catchers, and not in a positive way. It also creates a whole bunch of total bases. it means players advance another base on hits. Stolen bases and speed generaly are undercredited by the historical stats, IMHO. And, speed creates a better defender, all other things being equal. The Sox last year were the best team in baseball for a number of reasons - including home runs, defense, speed, clutch hitting and a spectacular pitching staff. But some of the things that helped them win - speed, defense, smart outs - are often dismissed by the analysts as unimportant. Well, I think that was proven wrong last year. well put.
  6. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 28, 2006 -> 04:41 PM) It was. I still like watching replays of that grandslam more than Podsednik's walkoff. It's still a toss up for me. I can't decide.
  7. Towards the end of the year Juan starting seeing a lot of pitches. If he keeps the same aproach, I think he'll fit good in the 2 spot.
  8. You cannot win with an ops that low.
  9. QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Feb 3, 2006 -> 10:18 AM) I don't recall which league i was in last year, but i think it was 6. but i'll play in any league that has a live draft and plays head to head. I was in league 6, as well. I'd be happy to rejoin.
  10. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Jan 4, 2006 -> 11:09 AM) A good friend speculated an interesting trading scenario in regards to Prior. He claims that the Cubs will indeed trade Prior and prospects to the Orioles for Tejada out of vulnerbility from being the 'new' 2nd team in town And since the Orioles would be worried about Priors health they would ship him to the White Sox for Jose Contreras and a couple of mid-level prospects. So the Orioles would get about 5-6 solid prospects out of these moves plus Contreras in which they can trade during the midseason for even more prospects. Lets face it the Orioles are going to re-build. And the Orioles KNOW Contreras is healthy and are questioning Priors health. CAN you guys imagine Prior on the Sox?!?! It would ruin the Cubs forever! Prior, Buerhle, Garland, Garcia, Vazquez, McCarthy = WOAH!!!!!!!! Hey in Kenny you never know I realize this will probably never happen, but I am giggling out loud thinking about it.
  11. Two teams, with two seperate stadiums. I don't see it happening, but don't put anything past Daly.
  12. QUOTE(hi8is @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 04:45 PM) peoples ideas peoples ideas about Dodgers trades
  13. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 21, 2005 -> 09:00 AM) So now your Boston Red Sox have no center fielder, no shortstop, and no first baseman to go along with no Theo Epstein and no clue. It's fair to say this is becoming a winter of discontent in Red Sox Nation. I don't see how they can effectvely replace these positions. I wonder how bad Manny will want out now.
  14. They are talking about giving Pierre and extension, as well. Where is the prize Pie going to play. This team contradicts itself constantly. I love it.
  15. QUOTE(Felix @ Dec 20, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) I think the real question is, are you insane? Soriano was good in TBIA, but was significantly worse outside of it. Now that he's making a switch from the best hitting park to the best pitching park, his numbers are going to be crap. He's not a stud.. he won't even be a good player when he's in RFK. He has s*** discipline at the plate, along with crap defense, so if you could explain, how is he a stud? Not to mention, Soriano has said he prefers the AL and he will go back to it next year.
  16. QUOTE(farmteam @ Dec 17, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) He seems like he'd be a good fit. Also, he's 26 but has an 11 year old? I was wondering if that was a misprint.
  17. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 11:55 PM) Anyone think there'd be a chance of replacing Uribe with Crede instead? I just like what Uribe brings, and also the fact that he dumped Boras to stay here. If we're talking about a trade to the O's, no. They have a great thrird baseman in Mora and it would leave them without a SS.
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 10:25 AM) Damaso? Touche
  19. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Dec 16, 2005 -> 10:24 AM) ..for im guessing bullpen help.....??? Marte
  20. QUOTE(LDF @ Dec 15, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) when was the last time the sox made a trade and we were the winners of the trade. let not include this offseason. Freddy Garcia. Juan Uribe. Joese Contreras. Paul Konerko.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) He walked out on Cuba didn't he? He must have a s***ty attitude.
  22. He's got 4/48 left on his contract. It's not going to happen.
