  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 6, 2005 -> 03:11 PM) IMO Pods has a much bigger lead over Jeter than the MLB is leading us to believe. I think Jeter's already done. Any reason you think that?
  2. I just recruited my girlfriend to start voting at work.
  3. QUOTE(spiffalicious @ Jul 5, 2005 -> 03:00 PM) Bob something (Boman?) from mlb.com was on the Score about an hour ago and said that the difference between Pods and Jeter was 5,000 last time he checked, so I'm guessing that's where bench got it from. Welcome to Soxtalk
  4. I agree with a lot that has been said in this thread. I'm glad it is being addressed in this matter. I for one, have basically stopped reading game threads for many reasons that have already been mentioned. I think the threads are controlled by several people and it's hard to just get an update if you missed something(without fighting through pages of the same argument). I have no problem with people voicing negative thoughts. I don't like it when they are stated as fact and not left open for disagreement. I haven't been around that long, and I lurk more than I post, but I have noticed a big culture change on this board in the last couple of months. I see many people who have been around that rarely post. I respected many of those peoples thoughts, but I think they are just a bit fed up of the same recycled topics and arguments. I don't think banning anyone is the solution, but some people need to just tone it down. Beating a dead horse is rarely interesting or thought provoking. The constant arguments are getting old.
  5. QUOTE(Spiff @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 10:02 AM) I agree with everything else you said, but this is the most important part I think. When Jason created this board he wasn't thinking, gee I'd like to make a place where people could just bash everything the Sox do or don't do everyday while other people actually try and have meaningful discussions. I only read a few posts in the game thread (which is more than I've probably read in a few weeks combined) and they were ridiculous. People b****ing about how this team sucks and the best record is a fluke and we can't hit s***ty pitching etc. ENOUGH. The constant negativity of a few people on this board has ruined the game threads to the point where I don't even like to read them anymore. Instead of interesting discussion on the best team in baseball we get "They suck, all they do is swing for the fences" "Here comes Shingo to f*** it up" "Ozzie is an idiot for not putting in (player x)". I'm f***ing tired of it. You kiddies want to b**** about everything on the internet, go make a livejournal.
  6. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Jul 1, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) Damn, I just got a flashback to Koch in Tampa on the 4th of July. I just got the shivers thinking about that.
  7. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 03:22 PM) I am 100000000% dumber after reading that game thread. Sox win, big whoop. I'm in full agreement with you qwerty.
  8. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jun 30, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) If you take away the 10 positive posts in this thread...you'd think we were losing 15-0. I used to like reading game threads...I'd actually get a feel for what was going on....but now it's just a b**** fest. From the time the game started there was b****ing.... I completely agree. What happened to the enthusiasm when this team was winning. These threads are no longer enjoyable.
  9. I think last night could be a turning point for Shingo. He saw Ozzie has trust in him again. I also think it was big that he caught a bad break in the 13th and was able to work his way through it.
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 04:46 PM) Update please? 1st and 3rd nobody out.
  11. I wonder if Dusty will complain that we ran up the score.
  12. I'm loving every minute of this. I haven't heard a single word out of a Cubs fan at work today. Check that, I haven't heard a word in two months.
  13. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 24, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) Hit up the chatroom guys! I wish I could. I'm at work and blocked out from chat rooms.
  14. I'm listening to the radio braodcast. Ed and John are rooting for a home run every batter. It's pretty amusing.
  15. Konerko bounces out. Tad to second. Two outs, Aaron steps to the plate.
