  1. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ May 26, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Maria. Sad thing is that school is probably closer to closing down than I would care to admit. Honestly, I had a great experience going to an all girls school. Damn. I was going to guess you were a Mighty Mac. They threaten that every year.
  2. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:27 PM) Harold Reynolds just gave us some props in 3 up and 3 down. But he also put the Brewers and Pirates in 3 up with us. I think sometimes they get tired of talking about the same teams. So, they find any reason to sneak in new teams once in a while.

QUOTE(mreye @ May 26, 2005 -> 09:02 AM) This is my first year as well. Good Luck!!!
  4. My favorite DJ item from yesterday was when Iguchi fielded a ground ball and his response was "Gobble Gobble".
  5. QUOTE(DABearSoX @ May 25, 2005 -> 03:19 PM) Thats just not right......I mean I understand Nick Cage in ConAir but come on I beleive his name was Cameron Poe. I still say one of the top 5 cheezy movies of all time.

I'm running. I haven't ran this race yet. It seems I have something to do every year.
  7. Although, I didn't see many of them, I'll go with Frank.
  8. Since everyone loves to bash Crede, and I'm starting to hop on that bandwagon, I thought I'd bring this up. It looks like the Reds are going to have a firesale. I think Joe Randa would be an upgrade that could be had for a reasonable price. Any takers?
  9. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ May 25, 2005 -> 08:25 AM) It's getting to the point with Uribe and Crede like it used to get with Valentin. What I mean is, everytime Valentin had 2 strikes on him, everyone watching the game knew a curve ball in the dirt was coming, it would come, and Valentin would swing at it every time. Now, it's slider outside for Crede, and high fastball for Uribe. Get 2 strikes on either of those guys, throw the appropriate pitch, and you have a guaranteed strikeout. I think Crede has always been an awful 2 strike hitter and that won't change. Last night was one of the few two strike hits I can remember him getting. Uribe as a two strike hitter goes with his streaks.
  10. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 24, 2005 -> 02:50 PM) 2 OL, the NFL's top TD WR, the #4 pick RB is nothing major? Alrighty Sorry, I meant no major oversights in the offseason. Although, I think not signing a veteran backup could have been a mistake. At least for a year or two while Orton develops.
  11. QUOTE(AnthraxFan93 @ May 24, 2005 -> 02:35 PM) They don't let great minds into that role for the SOx..Case and point KW.. I saw that coming.
  12. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 24, 2005 -> 02:19 PM) As the one who started this thread, it looks more like the case scouts were there for the Cubs. Yet if the Phillies and cubs are trading soon, its likely a blockbuster [something along the lines of Patterson and Hawkins and a AA guy or two for Abreu and etc]. Polanco likely wouldn't be part of the deal. Yet the premise that the Sox could use Polanco [and that he'd be available] still holds. If the Phillies trade Abreu, someone from that organization needs to be taken out back and shot. I could see them trading Pat Burrell. His value is high right now, and his name has come up on the block before.
  13. I honestly think he has some nagging injuries. I think he may be better off when Frank is back and he is not playing everyday. He just doesn't look right out there right now.
  14. QUOTE(sec159row2 @ May 24, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) didn't gammons pick the tribe to beat out the sox??? hahahahahahahahahahaha Gammons also said the Indians will win the world series next year.
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/stor..._len&id=2067198 I think Len Pasquarelli does a fair unbiased evaluation. The Bears improved, but nothing major. Their season will revolve around Grossman. The Vikings definitely improved their defense, but I don't think they'll ever go anywhere with that cement head Tice at the helm. I still can't figure out what the Lions were doing drafting a WR with a third straight top ten pick. I think the Pack is finally on the downslide.
  16. QUOTE(beck72 @ May 24, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) During spring training, a Cle. paper did say that 3,4 Indians were suspected of juicing it. With his big drop off, maybe.... That or he got paid. Maybe, he's happy with his money.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 24, 2005 -> 09:43 AM) I thought Polanco talk was done-for after the off-season. Remember how many people were in love with this guy before the aquisition of Iguchi? Gimme Polanco anyday over MVP and let's get his ass some starts giving the trio of Crede-Uribe-Iguchi some much needed days off. The Phils are really looking for a way to get Utley some more at-bats and that may have lowered the asking price for Polanco in and of itself. Bring him in Kenny! There was a Polanco thread every day this offseason!!! Bring him in. I heard this morning on Fox news the Cubs are also after Polanco.
  18. I just heard Danny Graves was designated for assignment. I don't personally have an interest in him, but I'm sure some people might.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ May 19, 2005 -> 09:07 AM) What an informative post................................... :headshake Why is it any of our business as to if he has 'irregular' hands? Because we are losers and have nothing else to do.
  20. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 19, 2005 -> 08:42 AM) I dont think Beane wants Anderson, as it was stated before, his strikeout numbers are a little high for Beane's taste. I would think he is after Sweeney, or a pitching prospect. BTW, i would give up BMAC. I have to disagree. I think BMac is the only untouchable in the Sox system. I'm usually all for trading minor leaguers for proven major league players, but not this time. IMO, this is all total bs. This is a lot of salary and the A's would ask for a ton. Maybe, Crede, Sweeney, and BMac.
  21. Nice momentum gainer going into the weekend!!!!
  22. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ May 17, 2005 -> 09:57 AM) Oden has repeatedly said, to most analysts' amazement and disbelief, that he wants to go to college. After seeing what LeBron has done, it's pretty amazing that the no doubt about it #1 high schooler would go to college. I have to agree. No matter what he says, baring an age limit, if your #1 you go to the draft. I love college bball, but it would just be stupid not to.
  23. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 17, 2005 -> 08:35 AM) A 136 pitch outing had nothing to do with that I am sure... If he pithces this weekend, I'm guessing his pitch limit will be about 100. Bring on the bullpen early.
