  1. Awesome time and Wilson Phillips did make its appearance.
  2. QUOTE (sweatpants @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 12:51 PM) Depends on how old you are. Bars on Water St. cater to a lot more college aged kids. McGillycuddy's, Brother's, Duke's are pretty popular and usually pretty crowded. With Marquette and UW-Milwaukee done with school it might be a little less packed. If you're a little older you might wanna head to Brady St. It has a quite a few good bars-Wolski's, Nomad's, and Hi-Hat come to mind. Most bars on Brady are usually less loud, less crowded, and more tame. Or you could drive another hour west and go out in Madison. I highly recommend going up there at least once in your lifetime. Thanks for the insight. We have a pretty large group (35) of people in their mid-twenties. Looking forward to heading up to the Good Land!
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 11:13 AM) THIS IS A PREDICTION!!!!!!!!!!! 1. Pods, LF 2. Ramirez, SS 3. Dye, RF 4. Pierzynski, C 5. Beckham, 3B 6. Fields, 1B 7. Getz, 2B 8. Anderson, CF 9. Richard, P AJP in the cleanup spot made me throw up a little bit.
  4. Anyone know of the good bars to head to Saturday night? I know riverwalk is the place to be, but what bars in particular. So many bars, so little time.
  5. Remember when everyone was hitting the panic button on Floyd. Wish the rest of the team would follow suit now.
  6. btw i dont know if it has been mentioned here yet, but the immortal Ross Gload went deep twice today.
  7. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:20 PM) In all seriousness, we're trying to cut down on negativity and personal attacks. Whether it be towards another member, or towards a member of the Sox, they are still personal attacks. Think about this... Would you say what you're about to say to the person directly if they were holding onto you and you were dangling over a cliff? This is a very good thread to address. I love soxtalk and I love the information and passion I find on this board. However, there are times where I will not post or even come to this site when I see overwhelming negativity and especially personal attacks, at both players and fellow posters. I think we all (as sports fans) sometimes need to be step back and be given a reality check. I know that I get over-passionate about my teams as well. I am not saying that being passionate about a team is a bad thing. It's part of what makes Soxtalk great. But no sporting result or team should take precedence over human decency.
  8. QUOTE (watchtower41 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 10:17 AM) Going on Saturday and Sunday.... can't wait, even though the Brew Crew has a real decent shot at sweeping us in our current condition. Anyone know the probables? When was the last time we played them up there? I wish we broke our our 1990 gear and wore it up against their 70's-80's gear. Hell, even have Pat Listasch and Big Hurt throw out the first pitch for ole times sake. Tailgating promises to be a blast with all the Sox faithful making this trek. Well the rotation is all jacked up right now, but based on this week's rotation it would be: Friday: Richard (is he still in the rotation??) vs. Suppan Saturday: Contreras vs. Parra Sunday: Buehrle vs. Looper The good news is Gallardo is pitching today so we miss him. That is not a stellar rotation on their end either. P.S. taillgating should be awesome. if you see a large group of sox fans blasting some wilson phillips and go west, that would be us!
  9. Are these next two games about as must-win as they come for games in June??
  10. I will be leading a group of 35 sox fans out there on Saturday! Let's take over that park!
  11. I will keep booing you Wise. Thank you.
  12. Could be the end of the Colon experiment.... Hopefully.
  13. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 02:02 PM) Colon has been a surprise, if you ask me. If you would have told me his ERA would be where it is now (this low), I would have taken it and so would everyone here. Ask 100 people what they thought his ERA would be before the year, and I'm guessing 80 of them would have said 5 or higher. Anyways, welcome to the bigs, Aaron. His ERA is very very very misleading. He has a few errors in games, then proceeded to give up a million runs. Last outing and the 20-1 debacle come to mind.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 02:20 PM) Podsednik lf Ramirez ss Dye rf Thome dh Konerko 1b Pierzynski c Beckham 3b Nix 2b Anderson cf I like this lineup!!!
  15. Halladay is the front-runner now IMO.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 08:53 AM) Let's hope we keep seeing the patient Sox team that sees lots of pitches and get right back into that Tiger pen again. The Sox staff is in good shape after being saved by Contreras in game two. ^^^^ this. D-train will get derailed if we are patient and make him throw a lot of pitches.
  17. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 09:44 AM) Reports, please! Nothing big. Said he is excited to be coming to Chicago. Only been there once before. Doesnt know his role yet. Blah, blah. No real news out of it.
