  1. I would rather have Hudson anyway. But i doubt we get him either.
  2. Sign Orland Hudson!!!! I like him even more than a stopgap. He can play multiple positions and can lead off. Outside of the injury bug, he is a perfect fit for the sox. Get it done KW.
  3. i would love to see other people take wise's spot, but i would be shocked if he didnt make the team. ozzie has a love fest going on with him.
  4. at least boers and bernstein will make fun of all these moronic callers.
  5. Listening to Mike Murphy and these callers speculate about this deal has been simply brutal. Best call said the sox should sign him and trade him to the cubs for prospects. LMAO.
  6. QUOTE (beautox @ Jan 30, 2009 -> 03:40 AM) Also to add to that I'm looking forward to watching youth getting a chance and I'm very excited for how the future of this team could shake out. Going around the horn and cupboard here is what i think realistic comps for whats in the minors and at the ML level; ceiling wise. DH- Brandon Allen - Adam LaRoche with some speed and a bit more pop, maybe he will surprise and stick at first. C - Tyler Flowers - Joe Torre's bat with a chance to be a bit better than Piazza behind the dish 1B - Josh Fields - Dean Palmer, I'd love to see him stick at 3B but i foresee him on the other side of the diamond. 2B - Chris Getz - A LH Eric Young, possibly a bit more pop if the power is for real. SS - Alexei Ramirez - Adrian Beltre. 3B - Gordon Beckham - Chase Utley. LF - Dayan Viciedo - Carlos Lee CF - Jordan Danks - David Dejesus if the power never fully develops the converse of that is Fred Lynn if it does. RF - Carlos Quentin - CQ I would love to hear what other posters across the board think are legit major league comps for some of these players. Also i highly doubt all of these players pan out but those are the players i associate each with when i think of their ceilings These are some of the weirdest comparisons i have seen in awhile. Alexei and Beltre? Danks and Dejesus? Getz and Young? Just weird.
  7. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jan 21, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) Yanks and Mets front runners for Garica per Rosey. Beat me to it! Here is the excerpt from mlbtraderumors
  8. Saw this at mlbtraderumors.com: Rosenthal notes that few teams have openly expressed interest in free agent second baseman Orlando Hudson and believes he could fall to the Nationals if large market teams give way. Im curious why the sox arent pursuing hudson. I know we are trying to save money and have getz waiting, but if we can get him on the cheap somewhat, he would fill the leadoff role and fill a potential hole at second base. Thoughts?
  9. I would be happy to sign Freddy to a low-risk, incentive laden deal. No thanks on Fartolo.
  10. QUOTE (ScottPodRulez22 @ Dec 23, 2008 -> 02:45 PM) Albert Pujols says hi I was thinking the same thing.
  11. i think bobby abreau will end up being the sox #2 hitter.
  12. o.k. just a few thoughts from reading this thread. 1. i would not be a fan of this trade as constructed. i know bailey has tons of potential but i believe dye deserves more in return. i will wait to judge the trade, however, til a. its completed b. we see all the players involved and c. we see the following moves in the offeson. 2. anyone who doesn't believe that jermaine dye is one of the most productive/important players to wear a white sox uniform... period.... is an idiot. 3. If this trade is true and does happen, i will be very sad to see JD go. I love what he has done for this team and how he has conducted himself as part of this organization. He has quickly become one of my favorite players of all-time and I wish him nothing but the best for the rest of his career. Finally, i was curious to see that so many people were suggesting that we sign furcal. is this just pure speculation from a number of people or have there been rumors/smoke regarding the sox interest in him. thanks for any info.
  13. CQ would have won this award if he didnt get hurt. Let's see him take in next year!
  14. im gonna go with blake, then replaced by beckham.
  15. im not a big fan of juan, but i will acknowledge he did an admirable job this year filling in at 3b. he also has made a lot of great plays, especially in 2005, but i see getz taking his job as the utility infielder and i dont want to see him as a full-time 3b again.
  16. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 13, 2008 -> 03:06 PM) Gotta be 35. 14 & 56 have not earned it yet, IMO. If Konerko ended his career right now, he would be retired by the White Sox. But Frank should be next, depending on his playing career should happen fairly soon i would think,.
  17. it ain't over til it's over!! i say we win this game and make this a damn series! GO WHITE SOX!!!!
  18. well not a good game, but if we can win tomorrow we will be in good shape. GO MB!!!!!
  19. how in gods name did alexei get a a piece of that???
  20. that may have been PKs best at bat of the season.
  21. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Oct 2, 2008 -> 04:25 PM) I dont know. I just assumed it would be GasCan, Burls, Floyd, Danks....then game 5 I shudder to think the possibility. it would be buehrle.
