  1. First batter I see all game, thome finally getting a hit! YES!
  2. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 15, 2008 -> 02:06 PM) who would you sit? we're having trouble scoring runs. Thome. Put Dye at DH. Please!!!
  3. This thread is already hating on JG. I will go with a different approach. Jon thanks for a solid career with the Sox, but sorry, CQ is coming after you!
  4. QUOTE (rangercal @ May 15, 2008 -> 02:01 PM) He is awful on defense. I also think the fact that he does not draw walks will eventually catch up on him , pitchers might be a little more cautious with their pitch selection. He may not be the best fielder but he gave the Brewers a huge discount. If Carlos would be willing to except a deal in that neighborhood i would be all over it if im the sox.
  5. QUOTE (rafacosta @ May 14, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) Let's see what Swisher is about...so far he has been a huge disappointment. And so it continues....
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox15 @ May 13, 2008 -> 11:11 PM) After every game and every series, it seems more and more likely that we are looking at a 100 loss team. I think its time we stop kidding ourselves into thinking that this offense is going to wake up from the dormant state it has been in since the 2006 All-Star break. We had a better record last year at this point. Though our starting pitching is vastly improved and could prolong 4-24 stretches like last year, I wonder how long Danks and Floyd will hold up. Buehrle has been terrible, and Contreras could fall apart at a moment (also the guy is probably in his 50s). And Vazquez showed his 6th inning allergic reaction last week, lets hope that doesn't happen all over again. I also don't feel like our pen is that great, this team is eerily similar to last season's, sans an Erstad here and an Andy Gonzalez and Luis Terrero there. So if we are in the same boat as last year at the All-Star break, I think we'll be cutting our losses and dealing the older guys and beginning the rebuilding process. All that seems to add up to a team that threatens to lose 100 games or something near that. Then again, maybe things will turn around and I can eat crow and say I panicked about a season thats only 6 weeks old with plenty of time to right this ship. I am fine with that. No way this is a 100 loss team with the pitching we are getting. if this continues we should be around .500 or a little below sadly.
  7. cancel the post game..................................................... finally
  8. Our pitchers (outside of buehrle in his last two starts) really deserve better than this.
  9. Is weaver looking that good. We looking that bad or a little bit a both. Don't have WCIU out here.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ May 13, 2008 -> 09:36 PM) Weaver's not even trying to throw inside for strikes. Everything is away, away, away, way inside, away, away. is there any easier way than to beat the sox?
  11. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ May 13, 2008 -> 03:15 PM) Anything suggesting removal of Paul Konerko after he starts the season slow, because it always turns into a 30+ HR and 90+ RBI season. The overeaction to players both ways. Ex: Paulie is horrible or Swisher is god.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2008 -> 09:11 AM) Let me catch my breath here before we start going... Fields Vs Crede JR is cheap Ozzie is a terrible in game manager Kenny Williams is a terrible GM The farm system sucks Juan Uribe Ozzie needs to be quiet The Cubs are good The Tigers will be back The Indians will win the division Orlando Cabrera Don't bring back Jim Thome Bringing up the prospect of the day Ozzie hates Brian Anderson Hillary vs Obama vs McCain MBINAA 2007 vs 2008 offense the status of players who were on the 2005 team affecting their status today Bobby Jenks velocity vs breaking stuff Mike MacDougal Chris Young vs Javy Vazquez other traded off prospects Why didn't we trade [insertplayer] (in hindsite) Cheap in the draft Scott Boras Jay Mariotti random baseball team rankings Newsreporters bias against the Sox/for the Cubs I am sure I missed some good ones... ... what he said.

  14. Time to finally hit someone he have never seen before!
  15. Go go white sox! THey better win the series. The only thing the Mariners are hitting lately is the Rangers pitchers. And with their helmets! ZING!
  16. Ugliest series win ever! (at least for the second game and most of this game). But hell I'll take it!
  17. QUOTE (fathom @ May 8, 2008 -> 04:14 PM) Yep, that single's going to make a world of difference. Haha normally no. When your down .005 in batting average it might.
  18. Ill take that hit from young for strictly fantasy purposes.
