  1. ...... This is a sad day. I knew it was most likely to come but Garland has been one of my favorites over the years. Good luck Jon and thanks for the memories..
  2. Just curious to see if anyone was interested in bringing Jose Valentin back as utility type player. I know we have pablo coming back and jose is getting old. But i figured he could play a little of 2b, 3b and SS if we needed it and has had a couple of productive seasons with the Mets. Plus he would be on the cheap. Thoughts?? fixed.
  3. Just thought I would see where White Sox fans' loyalties lie. Do you stick with the American League? Or cheer for the ultimate underdog. Personally, anything with the Red Sox or Yankees makes me want to throw up, so Go Rockies!
  4. where are the furcal/renteria/greene buttons???
  5. i dont think ive ever gone through more pepto in a three month span in my life! (reaches for bottle)
  6. im still mildly young and this is the worst season that i can remember when i really followed the team(i.e. the last 12,13 years.)
  7. QUOTE(soxfan3530 @ Aug 25, 2007 -> 03:36 PM) Our offense is reaching new lows...... So brian, you like orton's odds at Summer Slam??
  8. QUOTE(KevinM @ Aug 14, 2007 -> 08:41 AM) Gross. I'd much rather move Garland to the D'Backs for Quentin/Hudson/Cruz and then buy extremely low on Furcal (I know his contract blows, but there's one year left on it and he is a decent bet to rebound-I'm thinking we won't have to give up anything more than one of McCulloch/Broadway and Richar, if he plays well the rest of the season). Sign Rowand as well (as much as I think he's an average OF, he's a hell of a lot better than what we're working with). Furcal Hudson Thome Kong Fields Rowand Quentin Sweeney AJ Of course, that's if we plan on "going for it" next season. where's crede is this lineup??
  9. If you are saying they are for the same amount of money i will take the younger Aaron Rowand. Not only is he younger but he gets Erstad out of the lineup assuming Owens will play left.
  10. Question: Could the Cubs take Murton off the 40-man now or does he have to be in the minors when the player is picked up? Im guessing the latter but just thought i would ask.
  11. The Sox are playing better as of late. Currently they are 7 games under .500 at 53-60. My question is, Do you think the Sox will finish at or even above .500. I hear some crazy people (not on this message board per say) about how the Sox can get back in this thing. Obviously that is not a realistic prediction but do you think they can play well enough the rest of the way to play seven games over. Based on their remaining schedule I would say no but just seeing what all you optimist think.
  12. Keep Owens up and cast away the other two bums.
  13. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Jul 23, 2007 -> 09:53 AM) who cares he should not be on a mlb roster anyways ^^^^
  14. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 10:19 AM) No way they'd put Owens in CF if Rowand is on the team. Those three would be Owens-Rowand-Sweeney. I wasn't really putting them in order from left to right but i can see why you would think that. my bad, and i agree rowand would be in center.
  15. QUOTE(Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 20, 2007 -> 09:25 AM) This is where Contreras puts it all together and rebuilds his trade value! Not only that, I hope Beckett is out by the 4th. I agree. This could be a big game for Jose and the Sox. If he pitches well it might ease some doubts of teams concerned about trading for him. No offense to Jose (he had a great run with us) but he has to go! Let's boost the value!! GO SOX!
  16. Ideal: Rowand-Hunter-Sweeney What i think it will be: Rowand-Owens-Sweeney
  17. Let's get a moral victory here and take this series!
  18. Hahaha this game! First i was pissed, then it was just laughable, now i'm getting excited. i just remembered that i placed a bet in Vegas that a team would score 20 or more runs in a game this season. put 20 bucks on it going off at 11 to 1. Come on Sox bullpen!
  19. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) Two places have mentioned the $14 million a year number, both Ed Farmer and the Trib. There is no official word anywhere yet. Thanks!
  20. Sorry if im like the 500th person to do this but i was out of town yesterday and at work today and dont have the time to read through all these pages to see the latest of the MB thread. From what i know they are talking about 4 years for 56 mil? is that right? are they close or does it look like its not gonna happen. is there still a deadline of today? any updated info would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys!
  21. QUOTE(JohnCangelosi @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 08:51 AM) I'm still sticking by my prediction that we will run the table to finish 44-42 at the break. Go Sox! And still be about ten out!!!! LETS GO SOX!!!!
  22. Congrats Frank! You still are one of my favorite players ever. It's a shame he didnt hit 500 in a Sox uni though!
  23. Buehrle is awesome if he really agreed to this deal! Talking about being loyal to our team! This is the best news since the World Series! I'm looking forward to seeing Buehrle pitch on the South Side for years to come! Here's to you Buehrle!
  24. Lock up Garland and Buehrle. They can be our 1-2 punch for years to come! I just hope this is not building are hopes up, only to see buehrle out the door in a week or two.
