  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 06:38 PM) I think LSU very well may have beat them had they played in 2003. I think Auburn very well may have beat them had they played in 2004. I think Texas WILL beat them in Pasadena. USC is very overrated, and I will stand by that even if they win it all in January. This run doesn't happen if they played in a real conference. I agree with everything but Texas beating them. USC got lucky and were able to duck some opponents. It's amazing that they think they'll beat everyone in college sports. Um no. There defense isn't even top 10 in history. They would get stopped be teams inferior to the ones that are mentioned. I hope Texas beats them. Herbstreit and that other jack will luck so f'n stupid after the s*** they've been proclaiming for the past couple of weeks.
  2. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:09 PM) Is the new stadium in bridgeport? Bridgeview.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Why the f*** is everyone raving about this Woodson character. Is there something none of us that follow the minor leagues know? Maybe this guy has some studly arm and just has been quietly talked about. I can't remember his name but when I get some time i'll look through the notes I compile during drafts and see if I wrote something about him. Yeah, the Orioles posters seem to love him.
  4. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) Miguel Cabrera is a great player and texeira is a above great hitter and a gold glove winner i believe. Cabrera has done it since the day he set foot in a MLB park. Hell look at his rookie season and the playoffs. He was their 2nd best player as a rookie behind I-Rod. I'm not going to put Texieria in there yet. One more year and I'll say he's the league's 2nd best 1B behind Pujols of course.
  5. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 03:39 PM) http://www.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28747 The Orioles Board has a big thread going off this same rumor. They think both offers are crap. Interesting to read Baltimore's opinion. They all say Tejada is a top 5 player in baseball, which I completely disagree with. I can name 10 players I would rather have. Johan Santana Albert Pujols A-Rod Vlad Ortiz Derek Lee Andruw Jones Miguel Cabrera D-Train Texeira I think you're basing that off of one year. I'd say he's top 5. Pujols Cabrera Tejada A-Rod Santana
  6. QUOTE(sayitaintso @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 03:29 PM) Can this guy be considered a legit prospect in a year or 2? I don't think anyone even knew we had him in our system much less his stuff or what he projects to be. He's intriguing at the very least.
  7. I'm reserving mine as soon as I get my check.
  8. Don't like the Bears so I would most definately root for the Chicago *insert team here*. I also always have wanted to go to an Olympic Event. Plus the 80,000 facility would be built on UIC's campus. More revenue for the city, more jobs. s***, I could care less about inconvenience. Oh wow, I'll just have to leave my house a little earlier. Boohoo.
  9. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Dec 30, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) He's also a lefty... http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/W/alex-woodson.shtml His periphs look pretty decent.
  10. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 02:30 PM) I don't think we will be seeing Vazquez in long relief. All Vazquez has to do as a 5th starter is have a 4.50 ERA. Keep the team in the game. I think he can do much more though especially with Coop as the pitching coach. I agree and I want to keep Vaz as the 5th starter. I could care less about some prospect right now.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Dec 28, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) You said it better than I could have, nice job. Not sure about Tejada but I think there's another trade in the works. A player like Garland always has more value if they're signed. I don't think he will be moved considering there will be a conference call. Usually they don't do that with the player after they resigned him just to trade him.
  12. Stupid if it's two. Angelos needs to fire the GM.
  13. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Dec 27, 2005 -> 12:52 PM) I agree and if I were a GM in need of a cheap 2nd baseman, I'd go after Willie. He's a far better player than most of the posters here think he is. This is how I feel about him.
  14. QUOTE(qwerty @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 11:19 PM) Gordon has ever shown good iq? Ya, we he takes a 3-1 fast break three or tries to force up a ''giant killer'' instead of actually trying to get to the rim. He passing is awful and he handles are overated. He has good moves but is very sloppy, many times while dribbling he nearly falls over to regain his dribbles. Strong enough to handle guards in the post? We have no one that can do that ( guards)...which is why teams like new jersey, boston, and the cavs give us problems. I really do not see what so many see in him. He is one of the most overated players in the league, most have figured this out outside of bulls fans... he is thought of as a savior. We suck against any team with a big man that can score. Look at last year. Our guards held opposing team's backcourts down. They were like in top5 in scoring against by backcourt. Most Bulls fans don't want him, but he is good. He'll actually win you games. I just don't think the 3 guard rotation works. I think the Bulls either need to get rid of Kirk or Gordon. God knows they'll never get rid of Kirk because he can do no wrong, so it'll be Gordon.
  15. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 11:10 PM) I was all for Gordon starting over Duhon, and I still see Duhon as a glorified bench player...but I'm still going to have to disagree. Gordon is way too streaky to be a consistent scorer in this league, and his defense continues to hinder him. What tools are you seeing? Height isn't one of them. The lack of solid defense, careless turnovers, and streaky shooting outweigh when he is on for me. I do like him a lot when he is on, though. Height definately isn't one of them, but he has the IQ and he is strong enough to handle guards in the post. He also knows a thing or two about defensive positioning.
  16. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) Well, I wouldn't be that excited just yet...as has been mentioned, this draft is considered weak, weaker than 2000...and we all know how that worked out after we ended up with two of the top four players... The draft isn't weak.
  17. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 10:45 PM) We need a go to scorer desperately who can score in many ways--that is Morrison. At the 2 guard/small forward position is where you find your scorers and players who aren't great defensively. Morrison can be a dynamic scorer, but plays hard on defense (what Gordon really doesn't do.) If he is on this team, he is the best offensive threat because he can bring every night from anywhere. Gordon is a scorer and has the tools of a good defensive player. For Morrison it's just not there. Gordon could do anything Morrison does and better if Skiles gave him the damn ball instead of Hinrich or Duhon while he's out on the court. Problem is Skiles has tried to change Gordon and it's not working. Gordon does best in the 4th(at least last year) in large part because that's when Skiles let's Gordon go loose. Morrison can try all he wants, but I rather take the guy with tools.
  18. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 10:35 PM) There is a big difference though, Gordon is an all offensive 2 guard at 6-3 while Morrison is a 6-8 2 guard that plays hard all the time. Morrison is not a bad defensive player, he is coachable and plays old-school. You underestimate his defensive abilities. Morrison is an offensive SF. He's way too slow to play SG. Hell, some people think he may be too slow to play SF at the next level. And Morrison is horrible on defense. He plays great offensively in terms of scoring, but he has nothing else.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Dec 23, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) There was a threas a while back that discussed Stojakovic to the Bulls. Someone posted an articles talking about the connections between Stojakovic and Skiles and how Paxson said he would go after him or something along those lines. That's nothing but speculation. If Pax said that, it would be considered tampering. I know Stojakovic played for Skiles in Europe, but it's not happening. That's why the rumors have started with him and the Bulls. Nothing solid though.
  20. You claim Ben isn't a Skiles type player, but yet want Morrison who is the definition of all O and no D. Very weird. Anyway, LaMarcus Aldridge or bust.
  21. QUOTE(SnB @ Dec 26, 2005 -> 01:04 PM) I'd love to see arow back in some black and white pinstripes You're a Marlins fan? In all honesty, I don't see him coming back.
