  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2005 -> 01:17 PM) Please choose the most correct answer: Is Bill Clinton A. The most awesomest President since FDR B. The victim of a vast rightwing conspiracy C. The third anti-Christ D. Husband of the 42nd President E. Positively dreamy All of the above!
  2. Thanks for the advice once again Tex.
  3. Yeah, St. Clair sucked with the Rams big time.
  4. Intro to ThermoDynamics. Statics and Fortran Programming for Engineers are being taken this semester. I also took Intro to Engineering in my first semester.
  5. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) As a freshman, have you even taken a ME course yet? Yeah I have. I'm a Freshmen by 2 credit hours and that's because I withdrew from a class last year. That's a long story short. And I plan on staying in Chicago. That's my preference.
  6. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) ok, as far as i know, UIC's specialty is their business school.....just something to be considered. I'm strongly leaning towards business right now. That just helps sway my decision in that corner. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 11:49 AM) What don't you like about ME? I ask because I'm graduating with a degree in that this semester. Well I don't have the passion for it. For a major like that(or any practical major) you have to have a passion for it, else you won't get through school and if you do, you'll end up hating your job. If I hate my job, I can't perform up to my highest level. I mean, I'm part of the future of our country, I'd hate to be somebody who doesn't give 100% in what I'm contributing to this world. QUOTE(heavyduty @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 12:22 PM) Sport Administration/Management PROS: You get to talk about sports during your classes You are entering a field in which you know you are passionate about To be honest, it's relatively easy CONS: Hard to find work right out of school Starting pay isn't very much That was a thought of mine, but UIC doesn't have a Sports Management Program as far as I know. Thanks for your replies.
  7. QUOTE(SnB @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:56 AM) I'm an economics major right now, with a concentration on the business side. My school offers a whole bunch of different econ concentrations. Pros -employable -if you like numbers, but not too much ridiculous math -its economics, it's practical and can be interesting if taught right. Cons -not everyone's cup of tea .... what school do you go to nite? University of Illinois - Chicago
  8. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Oh I get it. This is so you can blame all of us when your career as a clown goes bellyup after Steff recommends clown school and you are watching all of your mechanical engineering buddies making money hand over fist. real nice, nite QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 9, 2005 -> 10:42 AM) Business: PROS: You're actually employable when you finish. Good money Challenging work environment CONS: Crowded field ( not nearly as bad as lawyers though ) Long hours Having to play politics to get ahead. Excellent. That's one of the fields I'm seriously considering. Keep them coming guys.

    Be A Pal

Okay, so as many of you know, I'm in college. I am currently majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I'm a freshmen(sophmore after this semester), but I seriously want to change my major. How can you help? Simple. State a major which you like or pick something you majored in and give 3 pros and cons of each. Don't worry about me having to take classes all over again. Everyone is welcome to help.
  10. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 8, 2005 -> 05:56 PM) Maggs would more than likely come through in that situation while Konerko popped out to short. Exactly. As much as I think Maggs is an a-hole for doing what he did, when healthy, he's tons better than PK.
  11. For me it's a different want and passion. Both are equal, but are different. I want them to repeat as badly as I wanted them to win the first one.
  12. QUOTE(3E8 @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 07:53 PM) If by very cheap you mean the most expensive pitcher we have on the team, and as of now the highest salary per year we have on the team. He's good, but he will probably be our 3rd or possibly our 4th best starter next season. I wouldn't be at all opposed to trading him but that's never going to happen. Market value wise, he's a proven pitcher who would've gotten tons more on the open market this past offseason. And again, we have no replacement for him. No way I trade him.
  13. Okay, back to the topic. There's a couple things. 1)It's safe to buy a cell phone off of ebay if you buy the right one. 2)You're going to need a phone that's unlocked, uses Sim cards(only T-Mobile and Cingular use Sim Cards in the U.S.) and use the same band as Cingular. If you want more help, go to howardforums.com
  14. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 7, 2005 -> 11:23 AM) To be honest, out of all of our starters not named Duque if I were to trade from the big 4, Garcia would be the guy as well. I'd do a Tex for Garcia trade, assuming the Sox would go out and sign themselves another starter to replace him. Neh. I wouldn't trade any of the big four right now. Especially not Garcia. He's very cheap and pretty damn good. Plus, we have no one to replace him in the rotation.
  15. Yeah, I like Doug, but I also think he's on the decline of his career.

    Chavez...foe

Many questions to be answered: If there is a war between Venezuela and the U.S., does Ozzie stay as manager of the White Sox and does Freddy stay? If Chavez is assasinated, does Ozzie automatically become front runner for President of Venezuela? I mean, he did just win a World Series. Does Freddy become his right hand man? Lots of important questions remain to be answered.
  17. Congrats on mod powers. Now get drunk on ban everyone and see what happens?
  18. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 01:25 PM) Yes, but I think a world series championship and all the love Ozzie has been getting as a player manager may change the way he thinks. He snubbed the Sox even though Ozzie tried to talk to him. And he didn't only do it once, he did it twice last year. The reason I thought though was because he was going to be a FA and he didn't think the White Sox would resign him so he really didn't want to go anywhere until the offseason because he didn't want to keep moving around.
  19. The problem with the Bulls is that they don't match up with anyone inside, especially in their division. They don't have that lowpost scoring threat like they had last year. All the other teams do. Defensively, teams will be able to just concentrate on our guards and not get burned much at all. I mean, even though the win was nice on Wed. we still had to come back from 25 points down against the Bobcats.
  20. Happy Birthday man. A well respected poster 'round these parts.
  21. I could see Griffey happening if PK were to go.
  22. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Nov 3, 2005 -> 07:17 PM) Boston needs a pitching staff. They could use a guy to hit behind Ortiz no doubt...but they need a pitching staff. I know they need one, but they also need hitting that they'll be losing if they trade Manny. This year's pitching market is bad. PK is available and they'll have the cash to shell out. I think they would sign him.
  23. Honestly, Boston could go after PK considering they're talking 3 way with Anaheim and Arizona to move Manny. Boston then would have some cash to play with.
