  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 10:26 AM) I actually do like her song on Laguna Beach. Silly, silly me. Come Clean is the song. I actually like Hilary Duff's music. I like alot of music though.
  2. Ozzie's also presenting the game ball tonight according to CCSN.
  3. QUOTE(South Side Fireworks Man @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 07:16 PM) Either Joe Borchard or Brian Anderson should take Timo's spot on the Sox roster next year. Never!!! TIMO 4 MVP!!1!
  4. Maybe it's because Ozzie wanted to catch the Bulls game tonight with Freddy. I mean, they're both there.
  5. Is Ozuna a FA? Cas if he is, I want him back. Timo too.
  6. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) what is UIC? University of Illinois - Chicago. Some of the programs are as good as UoI-Champaign and it's a lot cheaper. Housing is expensive though. I think you would be better off living in your own apartment if you go to UIC. All of my friends that I go to school with tell me it's cheaper than to dorm cas I was once thinking about dorming. Good thing is you're basically in downtown (a block if you want to get technical). Will Ferrell and Dustin Hoffman recently filmed a movie here in the Spring. You'll have easy access to the Cell as well and the United Center and a trip to the lakefront would be a 10 min trip on public transportation.
  7. Please no garages. It's a nightmare for sport/concert arenas IMHO. I went to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee last year and it took an hour just to get out of the garage. The thing was it wasn't even a sold out crowd. Bulls sadly lost that one and I had to wait in a parking garage for an hour. Trust me, it sucks major ass.
  8. QUOTE(J-MAN @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Why wasn't DePaul on the list? Scores high in student satisfaction every year! Excellent Computer, Accounting and Theater departments. Well yeah. In student satisfaction, I think it was number one overall just a year or two ago. I heard the actual programs are no better than DePaul except for the Arts, especially for Orchestra and Theater. Basically what you are paying for is the location of the campuses(Lincoln Park and Downtown Chicago), the fact that it's a private school, and the fact that it ranks so highly in student satisfaction. I've heard this from many DePaul students including my uncle who gave me the most insight on the school. And he graduated from it. He said he felt he could've gotten the same education for cheaper at UIC, but probably a not so lovey dovey atmosphere like DePaul offers. Currently he works for Aon.
  9. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:28 PM) than why doesn't he have any super bowl rings? He has more talent around him when he has the ball. That's why he said the best QB is in Indy and the one who has gotten the job done(not really a jab) is Brady. Honestly, you act as if Brady is leading a dynamic offense. That team could win with almost any starting QB in the league minus Kurt Warner and whoever's starting for Miami these days. I think even Orton could manage the Pats.
  10. Any possibilities of Nocioni becoming Kukoc reincarnated tonight and pulling up for 3's in fastbreaks instead of layups?? Anyway, that lineup sucks offensively. It's going to be a long year. 42 wins is my max projection for wins. Everyone knows that Hinrich is going to be jacking up the ball. Songalia really is just a shooter, not a scorer whereas Kirk is the vice versa. I have a feeling we get upset tonight. I honestly would rather have Gordon and Duhon on the court(bring Duhon off the bench even though he is definately a starter) so Gordon would be able to do what he does best and catch the ball and create for himself.
  11. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Nov 2, 2005 -> 02:40 PM) no way. there are none there. teams keep their trophies. it will be in the cell, but i doubt in the main concourse. i would suspect it will be in the "front offices" of the cell... I agree. No team puts their WS trophy on heavy display in a traffic area like the concourse. It'll be somewhere in the offices.
  12. I'd like Thome on my team. Anyway I'd go with, Frank at 3m.
  13. Based on what I've heard, Game 2 of the WS was the loudest. Even causing Harold Reynolds to say that he never heard a crowd so loud. Not even the Yankees in the 90's.
  14. QUOTE(Nunnigan @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) Yeah the Dragster is really crazy. It was cool ride but it wasnt worth the 4 or 5 hour wait because of the ride kept breaking down. There was even one point, while waiting in line, that the car didnt make it all the way up the track and came rolling back down backwards. Thats something that I never want to experience Yeah, that happens regularly with people on. They give you another shot at getting over though.
  15. Excellent. Webber and Ford are on my fantasy team along with Iverson, Iggy and unfortunately Bogut.
  16. Pats. I hate them, but Indy can't win there. Peyton's 0-for* in his career at Foxboro. He's 2-10 in his career against them including home games.
  17. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:03 PM) When Ozzie had to cancel with Leno they just called off the whole Sox appearance. Does anyone know that for sure? I wish they would still get some pub, but whatever. Looks like we'll have to repeat next year.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 12:36 PM) With the Angels though, it's worth noting that they really don't have a huge amount of cash to spend this offseason...they have somewhere over $73 million committed to their top 9 guys, and they're estimating needing around $16 million to pay the 14 guys they have in arbitration...thus bringing them to $89 million. Their salary this year was reportedly $97 million, and their GM says it will be "a little higher" next year. None of this includes either signing or replacing Paul Byrd and Bengie Molina. In other words, for them to even offer Konerko more than $12 million, it will mean that their salary will have to jump by about $5 million next year, and that's assuming they replace Byrd and Molina with people making the minimum. I don't know about Byrd, but I can tell you that they plan on using the other Molina as their starter. Many Angels fans have told me he's better defensively and probably just as good offensively. Plus they will be looking to trade Erstad and/pr Finley's contract. They're definately going to be making a run at PK. Hell, Manny makes 24 million or something like that and the Angels plan on making a strong run at him. Arte Moreno is the latin George Steinbrenner. He'll go after them. Oh yeah, they also have Salmon coming off the books too.
  19. QUOTE(greg775 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 11:56 PM) Maybe the Braves want to learn from us how to actually get it done in the postseason. Kidding. But I was thinking the other day: Isn't it nice when a Chicago team finally makes the finals that the team gets the job done? The Bulls never lost a championship series if I'm not mistaken. Each of their titles came without losing a Finals first. Same with the Sox. Finally got to the World Series and completed the deal. None of this happy to be there, learn from it and try to get em next time around. I'm glad we got it done with no regrets. Bulls in there first year in existence(they might've been called the Staggs) lost in the Finals their first year.
  20. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 07:26 PM) Contreras This thread shows just how reactionary people can be. I'm glad to say I was in his corner.
  21. QUOTE(S720 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 05:01 PM) I thought I would go back to my basketball mood to watch the beloved Chicago Bulls! I thought I would switch back to football to watch my beloved Chicago Bears! Alas, I failed! I am really in my White Sox withdrawal, big time. I feel empty, sad, and the yearning for more Chicago White Sox games is just too big to contain! Can't wait for Baseball Spring-Training! Exactly how I feel. Even if the Cowboys and Bulls and Fire were to win the championship, I wouldn't be as half pumped up as I am about the White Sox.
  22. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Since we had never won the WS in my lifetime, I didn't pay any attention to what other teams have done, or what the traditions are. Will the WS banner get raised at the Cell on opening day next year? Will it just be a pennant that reads '2005', or a banner with 'WS Champs 2005' on it? Do you guys think the chances of getting tix to opening day are good if you don't have some kind of season ticket package? It'll probably be similar to what they have now with the flags with just the year number on it. You never know though. JR might spice it up like he did with the Bulls banners after a year in which he has every single player's name that was on the team including IR. They will also be doing the ring ceremony too if they follow what most teams have done in the past on opening day. I think you still have a decent chance of getting opening day tix. You're just going to have to get them on the day(within in a couple of days) they are released intstead of being able to wait a couple of days or so. I can't wait. I definately can't miss break my streak of 5 consecutive OD's.
  23. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 04:56 PM) Vlad is on the cover. Boooooooo. That bum was injured for a large portion. I'd say David Ortiz was more deserving.
