  1. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:12 AM) Ive been on it and the only thing to say is..... holy god..... Its not better than sex though... I agree. It was only my second time ever going on a roller coaster and my friend decided it would be fantastic if it was the 1st roller coaster of the day(because of the long lines that would form). Holy hell, that's all I have to say.
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 02:02 PM) This coming from the person who was vying for Robert Person over Hernandez as the fifth starter, and was throwing Rowand under a bus 15 games into the season.. Enough said. :headshake ??
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 01:26 PM) I love people can say with certainty that he was bad for the clubhoues. Excuse me, were you in the clubhouse? Did you see how his teammates acted around him in the clubhouse? Were you a reporter who saw what he did in the clubhouse? Please answer all these questions, and when the answers to all of them are "No," I suggest you stop talking ASAP. A post that makes sense? What?! Crazyness. Anyway, I agree with you. I don't remember his teammates ever b*tching about him or any of his prior managers or even Francona prior to this year. I have yet to hear about a player who dislikes Manny.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) Is there a DVD out there with all of the World Series games on it? I recall that Boston (illegally or legally) had one released last year, I hope that someone does the same for the White Sox this year... Me too. That would be great.
  5. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) Was he bad for Boston's clubhouse in 2004? Or, did he just get bad for the clubhouse in 2005? I mean, his 156 OPS+ probably disrupted the team chemistry that those 'good' guys like Kevin Millar were trying to create, right? Exactly. In the world of sports, you have to take risks like we did with AJ and Everett. Manny's production far outweighs the risk IMHO. I would get him in a hearbeat. Of course, I'm not eating that whole salary.
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 12:57 PM) Well I think that Manny is a different case than AJ. There is a long public history of what he will do. 4 straight offseasons demanding a trade. Once a summer he takes a criticall series off (seems to be the Yankees one each time). He doesn't run out balls, etc. Much different case than AJ.. Aj was a flier at less than 2 million bucks that we could have released if he caused a problem. At 18-20 per, Manny is not the same case. Is Damon a cancer? No. But I do think the success in Boston changed him a bit. Everett was supposedly the same player Manny is minus being as good of a hitter. Manny and Ozzie would work tremendously.
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 12:49 PM) Where is the one you're talking about? I've ordered the WS DVD. I don't think they make a team DVD, unless your team wins it. There wouldn't be much reason to. I meant the World Series winner each year gets one.
  8. Crap, it won't let me download. At least I could watch it though.
  9. What's with some people crapping on the Bronze Titan? I think he'll be like his second half this year. I believe he is actually the age he says he is. Some guys just do look older than their age. And for Nolan Ryan, his stuff went when he got too old. Contreras isn't close to that point.
  10. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:15 AM) Damon is a good player, but the Sox have there top of the order and while I think Damon is better than a lot of you guys give him credit to be (since everyone seems dead set against him). I think the Sox have bigger needs (ie, the middle of the lineup and #1 resigning Paulie and #2 finding a productive DH). My thoughts exactly. And let's not throw that whole cancer crap around as I've seen for Damon and Manny. Wasn't AJ a supposed cancer? How about Everett? What the hell happened? That said, I'd pass for the reason Chisoxfn gave. We have bigger needs than another leadoff hitter.
  11. QUOTE(Lefty Of Love @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 12:28 PM) Hopefully they don't change a thing from that next year, just add tons of highlights from this year. I went to 20 somethin games this year and I got goosebumps every time they played that and then transitioned to the roster w/Thunderstruck playing. The best part is Fisk tagging out 2 at the plate....any trivia buffs want to research how many catchers recorded 2 put-outs in one play in history? I bet it is quite rare. Yeah, I love the intro. Gives me goosebumps too.
  12. I think Kenny will do what I would do. Be proactive but not make a move just to make a move. Our starting pitching is still intact and not falling apart(like those 2003 Angels) and is proven for the most part minus Garland(who hasn't proved that this was a fluke season which I don't think it was). Don't make a move just to make a move.
  13. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:54 AM) That's awesome that there's a mention of a Sox DVD. I can't wait for that! Every team gets a DVD each year. This one is going to be truly badass though. I already ordered one through mlb.com. Unless you're talking about another DVD.
  14. QUOTE(R.J. @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) The first 2 or 2 1/2 minutes is a song called "Elk Hunt" from the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack. Here's a rapidshare download if anyone is interested: http://rapidshare.de/files/6924851/Classic...k_Hunt.mp3.html Thanks.
  15. QUOTE(shaneomacfan @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) He's a Pirate Thanks for the help guys.
  16. I think he came full circle. He's using the swing that helped him get to the big leagues. They tried to tinker with it and in a few seasons, he found himself lost. Now with his basic swing again, he's good. I see him batting .280 with 25HR's and a couple of GG before it's all said and done.
  17. Does anyone at least know the song that plays during that intro? Very badass. Just like the Hawks entrance a couple of years ago(I don't know about now since I have yet to see them). I would download the video off of their server, but they're using macromedia.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 05:33 PM) Where were you watching the percession? I was standing near the bus stop right outside the BSB. There was some kid wearing a Cubs hat starting s*** a few people over from where I was standing. f***ing jealous Cub fan. Yeah, that's the kid I was talking about. I was in between Commons West and BSB(right by the walkway that's there. I saw the Cubs fan and the old man was f***ing around with him. I thought he should've whooped his ass for wearing a Cubs hat, jacket and a towel.
  19. Forget that, how will the crowd react to the ring ceremony and the World Series Flag being raised?
  20. I would bring him back at a discounted rate. People underestimate his clubhouse presence. Our guys love him. If he wants to come back and is willing to take a pay cut, he would be a great power bat off the bench.
  21. QUOTE(Wanne @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) True. But at least I got it off my chest. and for what nitetrain said...I haven't stopped celebratin' yet!!! WORLD CHAMPS BABY!!! "Don't stop belieeeeeeeeeeeving..."
  22. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) writing a professional letter and using the words "boobs" and "pissed" will usually hurt your credibility. Just a thought.... I was about to say the same. WE WON THE WORLD FRIGGIN SERIES just a couple of days ago. Celebrate damnit.
