  1. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) Griffey is too unreliable in terms of health, in my opinion of course. As a DH at least? I don't think so.
  2. Frank Thomas going down. PK now is carrying our offense? Definately ends the WS thoughts for me. I'll hope, but I know I'll be let down if I actually think this team could go win it all.
  3. Griffey, Manny, someone who's out there. Play for free, please!!!!!! This sucks complete ass.
  4. Griffey. Please become our savior. I know for a fact that if Paul Konerko is our big bat, we're done.
  5. I heard at first they pronounced him dead, then critical condition. Now I see he's been upgraded.
  6. QUOTE(ScottPodRulez22 @ Jul 29, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) he is no longer an admin Why did you quit SS2k5? WHYYYYYYYY????????
  7. I believe this is the java code or whatever that CBS Sportsline has:
  8. Welcome. I'm like you. I want us to just have the best team we can possibly field after the deadline. opefully something good happens for us and we're celebrating in the streets in October after a World Series win.
  9. Get swept Philly. Come on. I still believe we need a bat, but I would be willing to do this. If it really does get serious, the White Sox should offer to pick up Thome and most of his contract and see what Philly says then.
  10. QUOTE(juddling @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:10 PM) I shudder at the thought of Hawkins pitching for the Sox..much less in the series. Besides...he's ex-Twin AND ex-cub. two strikes and he's out!!!!! Was there ever a day you thought A.J. Pierzynski would be catching for the White Sox? Didn't think so.
  11. It's okay peanut. It's just we aren't satisfied. It's an offday and nothing has happened still. We are like a pack of wolves and you gave us an old chew toy. Give us the flesh, not the toy. Anyway, don't rip peanut. He's a quality guy.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 03:58 PM) I have heard a different version of this with a Yankees, Red Sox, White Sox, Cubs, and Cardinals fan... That's the version I heard.
  13. I heard Florida knows about the intention of Boston that they might swing him to Philly and therefore, that's why they are thinking about just keeping Burnett because they don't want to hurt themselves in the playoff race. This may also be a reason why Burnett isn't dealt to us.
  14. Oh, I so wish we could get him. He would be awesome for us.
  15. Burnett signing an extension won't be a deal breaker. At least that's what Rogers thinks.
  16. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 02:27 PM) 98? Hmm...wonder how we exceeded 97? Timo? Willie.
  17. Niiiiiiiiiice. I can't wait for the Crede.
  18. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:55 PM) So the pitcher brushed him off or did he hit him? Those are two seperate things. If he was hit by the pitch why did he try to get out of the way of the pitch AFTER he was hit by hit? I think I already explained how it allows him to be more selective and take away part of the plate. You bring up Mark Prior. That is one pitcher in all of MLB that has actually challenged Bonds with it. You can see it anyway you like. I have no reason to argue and in fact it is quite tiring. Yeah, I forgot. Prior is the only brave man to ever dare challenge Barry Bonds.
  19. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) yeah that or we could have a conversation that originated with someone speculating about a nonexistent trade for barry bonds, when bonds for sure isnt on teh market and for sure wotn even play this year....besides talk about nonexistent trades that coudl be going down is why teh inside beat was created, not to hear some 15 year old kid and some other people duke it out about why barry bonds hit homers But it is a potential trade. Don't you know that Bonds will be on the market next year because he can't play the field anymore, therefore making him available to the White Sox for Timo Perez and maybe Willie Harris. Of course, if we throw in Harris, you know they're throwing in Vizquel and Schmidt.
  20. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Another thread down the toilet. Thanks guys. Just trying to make our contributions to the board. Thank us later.
  21. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:51 PM) Kid, did you read what he wrote? He said that he got hit by the pitch THEN proceeded to move out of the way of the pitch. I have never seen a player get hit by the pitch AND THEN try to get out of the way of the pitch after it already hit him. CAN YOU READ? The armor helped make him a better HITTER. Read my comments kid, it never once included JUST home runs. Are you reading any of my posts? Okay, let me take you through the steps. Bonds gets hit Gets on base Next time up, he is noticeably farther off the plate than his last at bat. ¿Comprende?
  22. QUOTE(daa84 @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:49 PM) this is teh most worthless arguement except now im getting excited because SSI is gonna start talking to soxfan1 about how he looks like hes 7 years old in that picture in his sig.......this is gonna be good cuz ive always wondered how old soxfan1 is since that pic is everywhere I think he's 14. Pretty smart baseball wise for a 14 year old.
  23. QUOTE(southsideirish @ Jul 28, 2005 -> 01:42 PM) Why would he move after he got hit by the ball? I don't understand. He got hit by the ball and then tried to get out of the way? Why would someone do that? You started the argument. All along I said I was not arguing the home run point, but you kept insisting I was. I argued that it made him a better overall hitter. Look at my posts. I even included on base percentage, batting average, and walks. Go back and check it out wise guy. He would move after he got hit cas the pitcher brushed him off by hitting him. That's what happens in baseball. Why would he move back off the plate if he hasn't gotten hit? Um, duh! And I still don't see how it makes him a better hitter. All I see is that it makes it hurt less when he is hit. Maybe the fact that when he gets hit on the elbow, it doesn't hurt as much therefore retaining more power for his next at bat.
